Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

Shrike

Flower Potted, Maxed, & Rio'd.
I pre-ordered my Cloud in May of 2011 and I missed the cut-off date for the $100 discount by a week or two...can't remember exactly.

Purple I initially thought I pre-ordered but didn't and so I re-pre-ordered and now we are in the same situation. Thanks for the reality check vorrange lol, I guess I was a lil too medicated and a lil too hopeful haha.

I wish they could increase production and not sacrifice on quality. Hopefully by the time they reach us 2012 guys they might have some additional improvements or a slimier version or something.

While having some different options available would be nice when my time to purchase comes, I hope I'm not too optimistic in hoping that I get my email within the next 1-3 months.

Well I would like to start by saying that this is pure speculation, but if this thread was started on the 2nd of March, or roughly 7 weeks ago, and 300 clouds have been sold. For some odd reason I think there was slightly over 1000 pre-orders (I maybe have just made that up, but somewhere between the old thread and this one that is sticking in my head). Say, 1200, that would make 4 times the current amount of clouds out there. 7 times 4 makes 28 weeks from the time this thread started or October before pre orders are caught up on. This completely ignores the fact that they are increasing the amount of clouds sold exponentially but with this mindset I figure I can only be pleasantly surprised by an earlier than expected email.

I just want to chime in on this quality discussion, since I posted a review that was critical of the QA at VXH. I felt a lot like vape4life. I was sick of waiting and almost didn't order when my number finally came up.

When it did arrive, I was less than thrilled with the workmanship of the hydracirc and there was a scratch on the back of the heater. After using the unit, I could not believe how great it worked. I mean, mine is just incredible every time I hit it.

So, I decided the scratch was no big deal and I repaired it. If it was on the front, I may have sent it back- but that's just me. I also thought my hydratube was leaking, but I wrong. I also decided not to send the tube back, even though it's not perfect.

So, all in all, I made a decision to keep my tube and heater. Others may have chosen to send it back. Either way, you will end up happy. And if you don't want to risk getting a faulty item, I would certainly wait. That's what I was going to do, but I'm glad I didn't.

On a slightly different topic, later this afternoon I'll have something to show everyone here :)

FYI - If you any of you are, like me, one of the handful of people who had to send your unit back (mine was one of the few running cold, and it really is very few) avoid returning by USPS if you can. I had no choice- I'm handicapped and my local UPS location isn't wheelchair accessible. But even though I sent it by 2-day Priority mail and specifically did not require a signature, to avoid a delay, USPS did NOT leave the package. And they won't let me, the sender, re-schedule the delivery, either.
I just hope VXL eventually gets it so they can send out my replacement. We have horrible problems with USPS deliveries here in the DC area, where if they don't deliver on the first attempt it can delay things a week or longer. I just hope out in CA they aren't quite as bad as that.

I'll use my IR thermometer to get a reading on both top and bottom next time it does it. I think anyone would rate it as very hot even at the base. But like I said I'll take a toke and it works normally. I assumed it was because my shed was extra hot (85*). As you can see my unit gets used in a wide range of ambient temperatures.

Using a Fluke IR, I measured 126 degrees (the highest measured temp so far) on one of the top side screwheads with ambient air close to 80 degrees the other day. The Cloud was on for about two hours and set at noon. The opposite side is consistently 2 degrees cooler. I get good doses each and every time with no combustion whatsoever no matter what setting, so I do not believe my Cloud is running hot, fwiw.

Interesting. What was the unit's heat setting at?

OK, so I am looking for some feedback on a product. First the backstory:

My 23 YO son was in a horrible crash right before Christmas. He almost lost his foot and has been re-habbing ever since. He can't walk yet so he can't go to school (except online) and it will a long time before he can work. He is also now a MMJ patient (as I am) because he will always have pain in that foot and ankle.

We received the Cloud a couple of weeks ago and we both love it. It controls his pain and my back spasms better than anything we have tried in the past. Anyway, we were talking the other day about how the Cloud is in desperate need of a stand for the hydratubes. He is very creative and a good wood worker, so I asked him to make a stand for the hyracirc. We talked about what it should look like, the functionality, etc. I went out and got him some raw supplies, and he came back with 3 very cool (IMO) stands!

Our idea is that we would like to sell these to Cloud owners, if there is an interest. This could help pay his medical bills (we have insurance, but still owe thousands), give him something to do and feel pride in, and to sell a product that is well made and very much needed.

Here are the first 3 hydra stands he created:

OK, so there it is. If people are willing to buy these, they will sell for $15- $20. They can be painted any color, or stained natural. He uses 3 coats of paint and then a clear shellack finish. There are felt bumpers on the bottom that are glued on. There is a clear plastic sleeve that fits over the dowel and creates a perfect fit. You do not have to force the hydratube on or off- it fits just like on the Cloud and protects the joint. If this takes off, we are thinking about different types of wood, stands that hold 2 or 3 tubes, stenciling, etc.

So what do you guys think? I haven't run any of this by the VXC guys yet, but I don't see how they would object. Please give me any and all feedback. I think he has come with an awesome stand that everyone will love. They look great sitting next to the Cloud and offer the protection that is needed.

Cool idea? Would you buy one? Would you pay $15 or $20 for one? Are we crazy?

Very cool idea, Tstat. Can he also make custom shaped-bases? I'm still patiently waiting in line for my cloud, but that doesn't mean I can't pick up some accessories while I'm waiting, right?

I am sure bunches of folks would buy them, especially being able to customize them for their own personal style! Nice job guys!!!

I'd buy one as well, and would be very happy my money is going to another pain patient. I know how bad it is to be stuck at home just thinking about how much you hurt. Much better to stay busy.

That just happened...
A little something I picked up. Now I can rock the ice without worrying of drowning my cloud. It works good. :)

elmomuzz,
Ok, so I've read every page of both VXC threads and am still curious about the whole preorder situation. I preordered a Cloud in Aug. 2011 and have been waiting patiently ever since, but when is the VXC crew going to stop taking preorders? I've been lucky enough to snatch a SG Natty King Stemline since then and have become less interested in a HydraTube. I know the Cloud won't be available to purchase by itself until all the preorders are fulfilled, but if they're still accepting preorders how will they ever catch up and have non-preorders?

It's been great reading all the reviews lately and I'm not worried at all about "issues" like the ticking or how hot the unit gets. I don't vape in silence and enjoy holding warm vapes. It would be nice to be able to purchase just the Cloud though, especially since there were a few problems with the in-house blower and because I can't get the original HT I preordered (SG Gridded Tree).

I can't answer the your basic question but will say that I would imagine you would be able to easily sell your HydraCirc or whatever glass you order to someone else on FC. There are folks that will want a backup or already have a different piece of glass than you get.
