Arizer Solo

Or you could use a Dremel or something similar to cut some V-cuts in the bottom rim of the stem, the effect will be the same and it's been done before too. Wear safety goggles when you try this!

boobs...how much better is the draw? I think the draw on this unit already is much better than the PD.

you can find out relatively by just lifting the stem slightly from the bottom of the bowl. The change in flow is very evident. I accomplish this manually but will modify some stems when I return home.

Interesting! How about a thin ring that goes around the outer edge of the bottom of the crucible to give it some lift, like a spacer? then we wouldn't need to risk burning our homes down with a torch.

Also, I ditched the domed screen and found some smaller ones that fit it perfectly flat...don't know where I got them. I put two of them in there and will see how they work tonight. I also found an old E elbow screen before they put the metal rings around the outer edge. I jammed that thing in there as a cap screen. May or may not be worth a shit. I've only used this thing twice and I am anal about the herb falling out of the stem into the crucible. This happened two days ago and nothing happened to the herb, but I had to shake the unit upside down to get it out and it got all over the place.

i don't usually keep my solo on long enough for the cut off, but I have been running mine with the wall plug, and twice now it has suddenly turned itself down to 1, not sure how much time went by, but is this the way the cut off behaves when it is plugged in?

Hey I just recieved my Arizer Solo from Quality Vape on Amazon.com It is an M105 unit. It does have the stainless steel bowl. The stems do have 4 holes. The only issue is that it is not the newest model number. The VaporPedia Article on the Solo states that the M105's highest temprature is 220 celsius, while the highest temprature reached for models before and after are 235 C. I am thinking about returning mine and buying a M107ss model. Am I correct in doing so?

If you want to return it, don't use it. I have a 104 and am not noticing any issues, but I also have wondered if I would be better off with a newer model.

Well you should be fine sticks and stones Because it seems that only M105's have the lowered temprature. In this website: http://www.vaporpedia.com/wiki/Solo the author states this:Solo's that utilized the steel crucible were introduced in the M105 production run. The M105 production run also saw the addition of a loose PTFE ring for better retention of the stem, as well as a firmware update which had the unintended effect of lowering the temperature levels by about 10 degrees centigrade. M106 and later units restored the original temperature scale.
So I have not used my new solo, I actually just packed it back up. I mean Vaping is already a questionable venture because of my experience with the Phantom :( so If I am going to spend this money, and try to make another attempt at entering the Vaping world with success might I add, I think I need the highest temprature. I am so mad at Amazon because this is what the ad stated: Latest Upgraded Model With 2 Year Warranty

nintendo...I wouldn't think the temp difference would be reason for concern. I'm not sure why you think you need the hottest temps...the highest settings on any model Solo ought to take care of business. I tend to vape hotter than most and am using my Solo starting at #3 and working my way all the way up, and I am satisfied. Compare the temps you get in the wiki with my 104 to see if this helps at all.

I've never used the phantom, but I've used everything in my signature. So far I think the Solo is the best portable I have.

I have a m105, and it does run a little cooler than my m102, but IMO it's definitely not something you need to return the unit for.

I'm pretty sure most people don't even go all the way to 7...

I usually stay between 3-5 depending on if I have it hooked up to a bubbler, or the aquavape or just using it direct... Loving the smaller aquavape BTW... much better match to the size of the solo. Now what to do with my larger AV...???

You are probably correct. But I live in NC and I don't find good quality herbs all the time. Also some active ingredients need to reach 400+ degrees Fahrenheit to vaporize. Isn't that why the Volcano is so nice, because it reaches an effective high temprature? I don't think I should settle now for something that later I might think I need and then its too late and I have to buy another unit. I am a noob though on vaping atleast. And Belive me I do not want to send anything back!!!!!!!!!! but I feel lied to, I spent godo money, and I can get the m107ss for only 40 bucks more! and my mind can be at ease. what do you guys think?

Also one of the main reasons I am switching to vaping is because I thought that filtering smoke/vapor through water filtered out some of the good active ingredients. Which is something I am trying to avoid on my quest to use less and less herbs to achieve the same mind state. Am I correct in saying that?

don't listen to these people. I had received an M105 as a replacement for my M103 and it sucked. Sure it made vapor but it wasn't anywhere near as awesome as my M103 was and thru a water pipe it couldn't milk the walls at 7 like my ceramic did at 5.

Yeah normal, your 12min. were probably up! It will stay at 1 because it's still a bit "warm", but if you wanna play again you need to unplug and plug back in. The a/c battery bypass adapter has worked FLAWLESSLY for me for many months now. One time I think I unplugged it and it never turned off, but I was pretty medicated, so i'm thinking even though it was plugged in I was still using battery. I love preserving my battery using the bypass, and it makes having the Solo as my daily driver so much better, until my Cloud arrives.

Nintendo, personally i'd go for the m107. I had the m105 and it does run cooler... it's not a huge deal, but the m107 also has the new teflon ring I believe so your stems stay snug (if you reset and press in the ring after some usage).

Sticks, if your 104 doesn't have any weird smells considering yourself lucky! I would love a ceramic, even if flaking is more than likely in your future (depending on usage).

VapenStone, he's able to get the 107, so that's what he's comparing it to. I agree with you about the ceramic being way better, but i'm pretty sure you can't even buy ceramic solos anymore. It wasn't just a "heat thing" either, it produced better, denser vapour and the battery seemed to last much longer, although the heatup time was longer to.

I still hope for a day when arizer will switch back to a BETTER non-flaking ceramic, but I know it won't happen. I AM curious to see what arizer changes/updates next though.

Thanks man. Yeah I am on my way to UPS to send this baby out. I guess I have to keep using my great water pipe for another week or so. But I am sure it is worth the wait.

It will be from what I hear the M106 and higher ones run just as hot as the ceramic's and you don't need to worry about chipping. Also from what I noticed my SS bowl one the flow was much improved.

vape4life...so you think a perfectly functioning 104 is better than the 107? Why? I don't have an opinion one way or the other.

and another thing...I can't see any of the old pics of the ceramic vs steel bowls since we got the new software. If any of you can easily reload some of them, I'd love to look at them.

Just got back from UPS and sent back that M105 Solo. i also put
in a complaitn of violation of business rules to mislead people in sales ads on amazon.com. Because they clearly state that it is the latest model Solo with all of the latest upgrades. But that is not the case because I received a M105...

poor guys, that's not quite true from their end :/ . Arizer would likely tell them that they are all the same. And officially they are- it's not a 'version' change as such. One trusted retailer who posts here I think said that the shipment straight from Arizer arrived with a mix of 2 different number series. The trouble is than on this particular issue the FC community has much more information than the retailers.
