I'm probably in the minority in that I enjoy using my Dynas as one-hitters. I also find that adjustable Ti tip screen option very finicky and set it deepest for a more solid feel. Probably my OCD, but a tiny amount of material jiggling around the chamber just doesn't feel as satisfying as full pack.

For me, it would be great to have a permanent shallow bottom chamber like a one-hitter, then do that mash n' pack method @ohmygodimsohigh uses to get an amazing terpy one-and-done hit.

I love the possibility to make the bowl smaller in the TI tip. I have a low THC tolerance and really need to be careful with how much I put in the VC with certain strains. Too much herb can result in unpleasant experiences. The smallest bowl size is my "brake", can't put accidentally too much in it.

Would a stainless CCD fit a little tighter?

SS CCD are just a little bit more rugged than a titanium.....SS you can certainly re-use after removal.....ti is hit and miss IME, it usually ends up getting bent/compressed enough that you can't re-use it...I've done it enough times that I just don't bother taking the screen out anymore. I set it at the half bowl, and when I need to clean it, just leave it in. It comes out nice and clean, and I don't have to bother with it. I've had the same screen in place for ~ 4 months now. YMMV

Yes, the Ti CCD screens get slightly bent over time after lots of removals for cleaning, however Ive still been using the same one for a few years now. I've removed the screen probably 200 times. I can still get it to snap in place, it just has to be in a specific spot near the biggest bowl size setting. NBD.
I thought about cleaning the tip while leaving it in, but the area right under the screen won't get cleaned because it wouldn't be accessed by the Q-tip and that would bug me.

I just soak mine in iso for a bit, agitate it, and q-tip in from the mp end. Q-tip gets in there and cleans everything up. I can't see any residue on either side of the ccd when I'm done, and I'm always happy/satisfied.

I might just have to grind one down to half-length. Now that sounds easy enough.

I can see it now "DynaVoke - the One-Draw Power Vape" - featuring a shorter cap and chamber and reduced cooling fin length for a more compact vape specifically designed for micro-dosers.

...and it still fits the Lego format.

What I also do, if should the screen does not sit perfectly after the first try on the smallest setting then I use the digger outer on the cap to push the edge from the CCD screen in place where it not sit perfect.

The Tip from @Dynalowrider I make ever when the screen get bendet and works perfect every time.

I Take it all apart and CCD out when I clean.

I use a firm plastic straw to push the ccd, (whether Titanium or stainless steel) into largest bowl position.

I always set the bowl to the largest size and simply put in the amount that I want up to a full Bowl, but I always leave at least between a 16th of an inch and 1/8 of an inch gap between the top of material and the rim of the tip for small air space between, herb and cap.

Oh, and I flatten any of the ccd's that look bent between two pennies and press a few times around the rims and that always flattens it out like new again.

Happy Vaping! :leaf:

@RogueGuy or anyone with a RWW glass stem, has anyone tried loading boro glass beads in a robusto stem for extra cooling? I was going to try a bunch of maybe 4mm glass beads?
Haven’t done it in a robusto, but I used 6mm glass beads in RWW’s original glass stem. It works wonderfully. I bent a screen in half and inserted it into the end of the tip, sticking out a bit, just to keep the bottom bead from gluing itself into the end of the tip when it’s on a magnet.

I put my CCDs in the first or second groove depending on the VC I am using. I load either with a twist or a suck load and it works just fine. I usually clean my tips by dropping them in a jar of ISO for a few minutes with the CCD and HT O-rings installed, and then swab out both sides with a q-tip. Easy peasy.

Thanks for reminding me. I also leave my O-rings on when I clean. OTHERWISE, everything else gets taken out or apart when I clean my VC's.

I've flattened the CCDs out as well and it does work, along with using two parts to support the ccd while getting it snapped into place, but I don't even bother removing it anymore. Just toss it in o-rings and all, just as @cybrguy described.

On a side note, I did an interesting experiment last night. I slapped my SS tip/ccd back onto my M to replace my TI tip/ccd, which has been on for the last ~ 4 months or more to compare. Now, mind you I have my ccd at half mast in my TI unit always.

Couple things I noticed. It took basically the same amount of draws to cash the bowl, maybe one more (comparing ~0.1 g bowls to ~ 0.05 g bowls). The heat up time on the SS was slightly longer, and it did hold heat longer. I've got my draw length for each heat position on the cap sorted from using it 6-8 times a day. I noticed I would finish my draw (which would normally be finished just as the cool down click happened) and the cool down click would happen seemingly 3-4 seconds after my draw was finished.

I did notice a large difference in flavor, which I don't believe I detected when I switched to the TI tip/ccd. My sequence of heating consists of starting at the tip, working my way down (respecting one click) to the base, then finishing it with two clicks at the base.

Usually this leaves a nice potent, savory hit to cash the bowl with my TI tip. When I got to this point with the SS tip, I could barely stand the roasted flavor, which also seemed to have kind of an industrious taste for some reason? Wasn't my favorite.

Also, through out the sessions, there was a certain vape signature with the SS Tip that I didn't exactly care for, when compared to the TI tip experience.

I did get noticeably more wrecked from these sessions, but also at the expense of using twice as much herb obviously. As I have other vapes that consistently vape 0.1 g bowls, I enjoy having my Dyna set up to microdose my usual 0.025-0.05 g dynabowls as my DD.

Now mind you I'd probably have to re-tune my techniques if I had to go back to the SS setup, which would most likely result in success, the beauty of these devices: the user can fine tune their experience.

This morning I slipped my Ti tip back into my M if that tells you anything.

Cool, I have that same Rouge Wax Works stem and I like it. I also tired to find 4 or 5mm scientific glass balls to do this...but the cost to get good quality glass balls is not worth it. You can find cheap slingshot inferior type glass...but I would not trust it for vaping. They sell scientific balls by the pound..lol

So I found a small quantity of scientific 4 or 5mm ones...but they were still like $70-100. So I gave up and when I saw the new BB9 stems from Dynavap. I got 2 and luv them....and also got a few low temp caps as well. Both the low temp cap and BB9 stems are the best innovations from Dynavap since making the Ti tip.....IMHO.

I was considering these quartz beads, but maybe they are too big.

I guess you want good quality glass because you don't want these things chipping and then you're inhaling glass bits.

I bought a bag of the 6mm “boiling stones” on amazon for $15.

If you’re in the US and willing to cover postage, I can mail you a couple dozen... I’ve mailed some out to a few other FCers, and postage was under $5.
