Just another "Person Of Interest"
This thread moves way to fast. Simpler; motorcycle carb with the big-ass needle going into the metering hole connected directly to the throttle cable. That is the condenser in the Omni being pushed or retracted from the VC. It is a 'metering' function. The airport acts as a choke. Since VC's with condensers have two carb functions, we have 2 elements better defined than just calling the hole a carb. Remove the condenser and you have a carb 'to clear the chamber of smoke'. But the term "smoke' messes everything up in the urban dictionary for 'carb'. The M and XL still uses this metering approach, but at a fixed rate where feathering the airport adjust the 'fuel mixture'. That is what makes the Omni a lot more vape than say the M.

Normally closed airport... I'll let that rattle around in DV's chamber of secrets.

@TommyDee Thanks for an
Excellent and detailed description of the concept.

I seem to remember George, once saying, that the air port/carb, by Design was originally intended to be wide open.

For the air to Vapor ratio and to drop the air pressure inside the stem, helping to keep both condenser and stem cooler.

But he also said that obviously there will be people who want bigger clouds or more Vapor production and of course they can close off that hole to varying degrees to assist or feather it.

My preference, honestly, varies by the day.

And that is one of the biggest beauties of the dynavap that sold me on it.

The sheer adjustability and ability to customize not only the Cosmetic appearances with its modularity but also the ability to adjust your vaping at any time and customize your experience to your preference.

Many of us try to give advice to others from our own personal experiences.

But in the end, this is one of those subjective products, where there truly is NO right or wrong... Just what's "right" for YOU.

-- TO EVERYONE OR NOONE --

On a side note, I am not a mod and would never have any desire to be so because I would never have time to do anything else. LOL

With that said, obviously I won't call someone out specifically, but I'm pretty sure I speak for many of us, when I say, that snarky, condescending, jab trading back and forth between people gets old quickly, in a thread that moves at a pretty good pace and is on track to be two thousand Pages here shortly.

@Stu and @pakalolo have been very kind during the holidays, and let us all (myself, included) slide a bit on some of these. 0.o

I like to think that many of us are like a little second family up in here.

Let's All try to remember that when we have differences of opinion on various topics concerning these products.

Demeaning comments to each other during these discussions don't help solve anything or sway anyone to a particular point of view. They only create more tension and a further divide.

When I first joined this forum, I came to this thread in search of information about my new dynavap.

I STAYED because you are ALL awesome, and since May, when I joined, this has been a fun thread to come to, to trade info and tips,(no pun intended :D) learn a thing or 2, and have a few laughs.

It's OUR family, here!
Let's please treat one another that way. :2c:

I hope EVERYONE has a SAFE and HAPPY Holiday season!

@phattpiggie, he is the one that has the metal band that adjusted the air intake built into the stem. That's who I was thinking about! @Planck talked about the clip that goes over the airport, which sounds like a cool DIY version, but phatpiggie came out with a clean design built in! There are some examples on his IG.

There used to be several people who talked about not wanting an omni because they wouldn't have the ability to spin the dv for even heating. With the increased popularity in IH, the spinning issue seems like it has kind of died out, however, it's seems pretty straight forward if one wanted to have both a hands free adjustable airport and a spinning mouthpiece, with something similar to PGs stems.

Hope it doesn't sound like an advertisement for PG. I don't know them, have not done business with them, and have never used one of their products. From an engineering background, I pay close attention to design, which is what I appreciate the most out of the PG stem.

I like @phattpiggie 's new air port adjuster. That is a lot of what had me thinking.

@thejackalsmark - I appreciate the moderators here. Moving those post to their own thread was a great move. And yes, forums are indeed a family with all its implications  Been participating in online groups since newsgroups. Now ask me why I cannot stand Facebook. :lmao:

Simple rule I follow - if it stops being fun, do something else. I'm here to have fun and to stretch those neurons a bit. And I'm still here after 4 months of being combustion free

So I won a Galaxy stem on Dynavap live back on 17th Dec. Woop woop!!! Thanks Dynavap. It arrived today because of oversea's and holidays, No probs and happy days. !! I just wanna say I'm a Dynafanboy and this post pains me.

Opened it up and I was more Happy with the extra O-rings, they chucked in than the stem its self. This is partly my own fault because..... I won it and I never checked out the details. The Stem is Tiny (mine is 44mm) and basically un-useable without a mouthpiece, I don't own one. I could use tip and stem no condenser thou. Like I said, this one is on me.

The airport protrudes out stopping the stem entering every tube carry I own. I don't own a dynastash but I do own Silo, Green tubes and a large doob tube. Little moan :ugh:

Then comes the quality of the stem its self. I know this is handmade and I really don't want to knock the guy. Maybe He had too much work and his heart was not in it when he made mine. Top lip has a chip that has been worked and polished, but its still there, maybe why its short by over 1mm.

In 4 places on the body there is roughness. 2 of these there is clearly metal imbedded into the glass. I presume other 2 are smaller spec's .

If I had paid for this stem I would be mailing them. If I was stateside I would probably mail them anyways, but for an oversea's freebie I can't really complain. I have had to stop, breathe and check stem again. She is a work of art.Although there are minor flaw's, They add up. This is a vanity item after all. I think my mistake of not checking sized and not being able to hit it has made me extra salty, So please take that into account while reading this post.

Wow, nice package! (you've heard that before, right?)

Is that a Robusto stem? The mouthpiece looks a bit different than the ebay picture. I've been eyeing one of those lately. Still loving my OG and the Tradesman is my wife's favorite of everything we've got.

Hey, I reckon you should reach out and contact DV, if only to let them know that they are having quality control issues.
It shouldn't matter if it's a freebie, discounted or full price product, it should be high quality and well finished regardless.

@ubardog bummer about your Galaxy body. I was surprised when I read how short it is.

@Moses Baca that is the Robusto, just an ugly one. There were some that I did not like the finish as much that I am planning on discounting.

@TommyDee my preference is for a $3, single flame torch. I figured he could pick one up.

@stark1 got to get MYSELF an IH before I go giving them away!!
