Discontinued The Grasshopper

We got a few parts back from the machinist today, namely the Grasshopper Body extension tube.

Still waiting on a few more pieces and a slight modification to this piece, the first circuit boards to come back and we should have a few options together after the new year for both wall power and external 18650 Grasshopper mods.

Very cool, looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Holy wow  nice threads dude

Much harder than I thought to find the survive! Tropic Thunder meme :nope:

Can this have a stationary bike mod, in case I need to power my grasshopper during the post-apocalypse?

@maxvapor710 very cool, I can see you having a lot of demand for this. Any chance it’ll be available with a UK plug, so it wouldn’t be necessary to also use an adapter?

we are manufacturing a "dummy battery" and body extension tube for the grasshopper.

These pieces will allow users to use an external power source with their grasshopper without modification to the hopper itself.

Great, now I gotta change my pants...

Being the german German that I am: you got any ballpark figure...? ;) And what's your paypal address?

I too am a bit curious about how much something like this will cost. I didn’t notice an on/off switch and wonder how power will be controlled in this fashion. It will be interesting to see when the first units roll off into users’s hand compared to when HL will get their next shipment of batteries.

The offering from maxvapor710 is compelling. I imagine it will reduce the batteries ordered thru HL and not eliminating them altogether. Hey, portability is the reason I bought my Hopper but a home sesh with full current can’t be a bad thing, can it? :peace:

It would appear that on/off and temp control would still be thru the backend dial of the Hopper, it just gets energy from a different source than this proprietary battery. I would hope for a simple connector to a box mod, like a male 510 "plug". Would not necessarily have to cost a fortune...

You’re right. The image cuts off the on/off button a bit but if you select the image (which I didn’t do initially) it opens in a browser that shows the button and temp dial. Thanks!

Let’s see what maxvapor710 says about ‘production runs’, availability and price...:peace:

@Vaporific Its hard to say but it is entirely dependent on the manufacturing costs, which are dependent on how many pieces I will need to manufacture.

As the hopper is not my product or have a decent way to gauge the interest in the quantity i will most likely put up some interest check or pre-order form once I have the costs more figured out.

As it stands right now with no known quantity, and things are subject to change, I could see the full kit with body extension, dummy battery and external power supply coming in at around $79-99USD.

The original plan was for a complete backend replacement, but we feel this design with the body extension is more versatile for those wishing to use external batteries or their own power sources and will also be cheaper to manufacture.
