Monk Debate

The monks do be debatin’
While I must commend you for your great will power, the good example you're setting for all of us and your commitment to overcome VAS. It's all very admirable, I have but three words for you. "Onboard Herb Storage!" :brow:

Oh I don’t blame anyone for grabbing one of these as soon as they can. It looks like an incredible vape and the first portable in forever to really consider the needs of on the go users.

Damn it, when I got to Marc's email the FW6 was already sold out! Anyone have any idea when the next batch will be ready?

I didn't get the email

Yo summer ain't over until Sept. 23! Seriously though, the plan is to get a couple units out to early testers/reviewers this week, then start taking the first few orders next week...

Now that I reread this I'm realizing I might have a long wait. The words, " first few orders" are chilling.

Just kidding it is what it is.

Waiting for the unfinished walnut... The cooked walnut oil + beeswax + carnauba homemade butter is waiting in the pot for butter-wet fine sanding. Just wondering if it's still usefull to prime it with the tung oil like I did with the 5.

@firewood any chance we can know how long the list is? For those of us who are particularly antsy. :p

I too was wondering this! Wasn’t sure if it would be right to ask as this is my first ever waiting list experience, and the first time I’ve properly worked to save away my money for something. Maybe we could all post on here the date we received confirmation that we were on the list from the man himself? I don’t know if this is right though as I’m not sure on the etiquette of the whole situation. Maybe I’m just thinking too much about it but I don't want to irritate anyone. Even though I missed out on the first batch I love the idea of these random batches going on the website, it’s whipping up my excitement even more.

I love my 4 and 5 and the 5 especially as it’s perfect for my long walks with the dog. Feel like the 6 is going to be my all time favourite with the onboard storage and loading tool. It just looks exquisite. I definitely haven’t saved those pictures to my phone, and definitely don’t hook said phone up to my tv to look at them in extreme close up detail like some sick wood pervert. No sir not me...:brow:

I apologize if anybody asked to be added to the list but didn't get an email. If still interested, please email me and I will add you to your proper place in line.
What is your email? I need on the mystical list! Thanks. Love your work.

Lholding26,
Firewood owners - what batteries do you use?

I saw a few recommended on Marc's site. Is the Samsung 25R a good choice?

To be honest, the idea of using unprotected 18650 batteries does scare me a bit. Are the risks pretty low as long as I'm smart about storage?

I cycle between a Sony vtc5a, Samsung 25r and LG HG2. All work well for me. I’m usually anti-Samsung stuff but the 25r has been good. I also tried a Sony VTC6 but it was slightly bigger and wouldn’t fit right in the FW5.

You can mitigate the risk of 18650s by only buying from a reputable seller (NOT Amazon/eBay), sticking to the recommended rating for the device, using a good charger which won’t overcharge, not draining them down too much, and storing/carrying them properly (in a case) of course. That’s most of it I think.

Thanks. Yes, I would plan to buy from a website like IMR, along with a charger and case!

Search or scroll this thread. There is great battery information and links to chargers that are A+.

So...who were these initial "chosen few"? You' d think they would be here whooping it up with their envious friends here!? C'mon folks, let us know who you are! Let us know what your new toy is like! I'm sure @firewood would love it if you swing by and hold us all in enthralled with what the FW6 can do!:clap::clap: And as usual, if there are no pics then it didn't happen!:rofl::rofl:
