Just another traveller in the Cannaverse
So last night as I was considering my Dynavap nightcap of Captain's Cake Cannabis and Pine Berry CBD flower I spotted my Cocobolo body laying amongst some things I have set aside for the classifieds.

And it dawned on me-with tape blocking the hole and without a condenser it could become a wood water wand. I was right. Condensers to me are mostly unnecessary unless it's the Omni where it's really integrated, and absolutely unnecessary for anything I use with a J Hook or water piece. And it hits like a truck.

I have a lot of organizing in my studio to do today, so I decided to start my day with my wood wand and some Super Lemon Haze. Wow. It's 34% THC, but it's a really nice version of a Sativa dominant hybrid, that is fabulous to use when you're working; especially creatively. And it's a nice early evening strain when combined with CBD to play music or watch a movie.

If you like simple hacks, take the condenser out of one of your Vongs, tape over the air inlet, and have at it. The body is very short, so some folks might feel more comfortable using a stem size or an IH instead of a torch. It's not a problem for me, especially with tape over the inlet so you don't have to fumble to close it.

But I"m sold, and my Cocobolo body won't be. Now...where did I put that light wood vong stem?

I know a bunch of you have mentioned my music lately. Thanks. One of the reasons I've been so quiet lately is that my new album dropped this week and I've been really busy; if you'd like to sample it you can find it here; http://store.cdbaby.com/cd/kenbonfield17

It should come online to Spotify next week. And @VapCap I'll be getting out a box of CDs for the DV team-you all contributed a whole bunch of good mojo for this album.

I can't remember who it was, but someone earlier in the thread suggested moving your condenser o-rings further down below the position of the air port on your stem/body to block it entirely. Thanks to that poster for the tip! I've been using this method and it works really well. It completely blocks air flow, so no need for tape covering the stem. It can be a bit tricky as you've got to seat the o-rings without using the grooves on the condenser, but with a little wax for lubrication, it's pretty easy to do.

Very very nice album, Ken. It is playing while I work this morning. Very calming, which I needed after a few minutes of CNN earlier today. Thanks for making it.

Personally I find it difficult to adequately clean a wood stem when used without a condenser so the only condenser free VC I have is a water wand. I expect to get something from @stardustsailor in metal, but haven't yet done so. That I would happily use condenser free as cleaning should be simple enough.

I'm going condenserless so the tape is necessary for me.

@cybrguy I've been using wooden stems on my Lil' Bud, and never worry about cleaning them. When the time comes I'll swab the insides with a q-tip soaked in coconut oil and have a little honeysickle. But so far I've never had to touch my wooden LB stems. So I'm not going to worry. YMMV.

And thanks for the kind words. This is my favorite album of the 8 I've released. Cheers

They extended the sale ;)

Just saw this, about to get a coil+TI tip, and an extra cap. Thanks!
Anyone considering concentrates for the first time, who has fully access to flowers, should really consider a dab press! Best piece of equipment I own... and I got a shop full of cool shit!

Cant wait to try some home pressed beauty in the new Dyna Coil

Any recommendations on a cheap and easy to use dab press?

I read that too recently and I thought why not flip my Nanovong stem upside down and keep the O rings right where they normally would be. Seems to block maybe 90-95% of the air flow from the carb hole. Dont have an omni but seems like people are saying they close about 90% or so? But if Im in a situation where it's dark and hard to easily find the carb hole it works great with the stem flipped upside down

Thanks for letting me know!!!! I was about to order right away then I went alittle crazy adding a Ti tip and coil kit, screens, an extra cap, XL condenser, titanium spinning mouthpiece and then I built some stuff in the dynabuilder and found out that is 20% off too.

So now I gotta figure out if I should buy all the separate parts I want or just get 20% off a coil and a complete vapcap in the dynabuilder?

Does anyone know if I order an XLS Nanovong with a titatinum mouthpiece in the dynabuilder would the XL condenser it comes with be the titatinum one or would it be stainless steel?

George extends the sale through the 18th.
I will say that I am a little annoyed by this, in a loving way of course. I managed to get by the short sale date without an investment as, since I don't see concentrates, it is not a practical purchase. Now I have to hold my water again.

Will practicality rein or will the weakness of my convictions pull me over the line. Be sure to tune in next time to our onging saga of Will vs Want, right here on your Dynavap station...

Pretty sure the only steel condensers come with "M"s. Someone said even they are now Ti, but I don't think so.

I bought a dark wood nanoNano XLS during the black Friday sale and it really looks like that came with a titatinum XL condenser, the color and look of that condenser looks different than the condenser that came with my 18 M that I bought during last year's 4-20 sale. I was thinking that the stainless steel condensers came with it if you got it in the dynabuilder assuming you don't pick an omni condenser. But I was thinking that because there are stainless steel and titanium XL condensers too in the parts section but there's no stainless steel mouthpiece.

I have a brand new cannaclamp Portable Rosin hand press for both flower and hash if anyone is interested. One of the most affordable and convenient presses.

I just found out about this vape on here. I saw the original vape with the plastic? tube and then went on the website and everything is metal now.

Im curious, If i made a boro or quartz 1 hitter to the right size would i simply be able to just slide the cap right on there and heat it up?

You'd want the cap and tip, but yes you can. It's an 8mm ID.

They’re envelopes cost more than 50¢. Insured+tracking I would guess.

It’s better than the last time I tried to make a small order (I think it was $8 then), but it really does discourage small orders.

That may we’ll be intentional though. I’ve been on their side of the equation before and packing up and shipping $2 orders is annoying (especially since I wasn’t doing a lot of volume so I might have to drive to the post office just for that).

Whichever way you go on it, one side or the other isn’t going to love it...

The original was glass, just the standard storage tube is plastic. Glass works great, it’s just fragile and a lot of people broke theirs so they’re focused on more durable materials now.

There are custom stem makers around here though, and some of them make thicker glass stems if you don’t want to do your own.

Last year Dynavap introduced the non Omni titanium condenser. I believe that all the Vapcaps come with titanium condensers now except maybe the M which is advertised to be an all stainless steel vape.

Given the discussion about taping the port hole, moving the xring etc...I have an option that I can offer on some of my stems, if one desires. I call it Default closed position. The x ring stays on the condnser groove, the port hole is moved northward toward the mp. So the hole is closed instead of open. To open the port, move the xring down the condenser abit. What do you think?

I actually like the port positio, with the xring in open mode, the hole lands on the index finger naturally, to be rolled betw thumb and index

2 examples the dark wood, ipe, is one of the stems I am sending to George. The canarywood stem will be offered along with a few others very soon

Nice stems and mouthpieces!
It's a good idea, I think it's similar to turning a Nanovong stem upside down(I think the M stem would work too but haven't tried it yet.) When you do that you just leave the O rings in the grooves where they normally go and it seems like it blocks like 90-95% maybe of the air, so it's practically closed and you get a good hit if your covering the carb hole or not.

If anyone has an omni and Nanovong or M would flipping the stems upside down basically make it similar to an Omni that's closed to let in almost no air?

cvc4455 thanks yes, I just tried flipping the nonavong around and the xring just barely blocks the port hole. I dont have a omni, so cant speak to a comparison. On the M 18 tho, the port is exactly in the mid point, so foreard or reversed will have the same result. Becuz of this, one can add a xl condenser and orientate the mp from either end, and still use the port hole.

O in my orig description, for opening the port on a Default closed stem...should have said " move the xring closer to the mp".

I do not need a dynacoil. I do not need a dynacoil. I DO NOT NEED A DYNACOIL! ...... Why am I considering one of these? I've NEVER used full melt concentrates of my own accord.... Gotta keep telling the back of my mind. I do not need a dynacoil.... Right now.

George dangles 20% off in front of our faces and we all lose our shit. What are we sheep!?

Really. Wait till you get a truly (portable) VCIH dangling in front of you (with the port on the long axis;
i.e. on top). You won’t be able to move fast enough!—Me neither, Kid!
Bring $$$! :cheers::spliff:

Truly civilized, @ataxian?

Until then,
