Discontinued Haze Square

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
why are apps selling points? they seem the bane of existence

Well this isn't an app to control the vape like the bluetooth ones you see elsewhere, it is for when plugging it in to a computer so you can set the five temp presets and led colors on the device to be whatever you want, also set vibration/lights. It is adding customization options for each Pro unit, so how is it not a selling point here? ;)

The way I see it, when the devices are engineered, they're set up with software .The haze square gives you access to that software for a more customizable experience. They should be praised for developing an app that can be used to customize the device to your liking. Shit. I really need to get off my ass and preorder before the preorder deal goes away

I need a pc with windows 10 in order to customize the 5 different heat temp settings.

@Haze Vaporizers - is this true...that it has to be that abortion of an OS, Windows 10? Won't work with Win 7 or Win 7 Pro?

Bud says the bowls are steel early in this video.

Yes, but to review what we discussed recently, Bud was wrong. Pre-prod Squares have anodized aluminum bowls. All prod units will be QPQ steel bowls.

Cheers

Prices will remain the same but we will not have the add-on incentives after next week.

The current release will work only with Windows 10 and we are about to release the MAC version. We will also release the Android. Windows 7 has too many differences between their subversions that it is impossible for us to standardize and say that it will work across the board for all Windows 7 versions. Windows 10 has way less variations that matter for the software.

On the other hand, few members posted links for virtual environments where it actually works. I never tested it myself but if those members can share this again, i will make a note of this.

The QPQ stainless pods have been on order like I mentioned earlier. We ran into few production issues with them since it is not very easy to make the small holes at the bottom. They are currently rushing them to make them available for this upcoming shipment. If they are not ready for the shipment, we will use the anodized pods still but make the stainless pods available to the next batch and also make them available to purchase seperately.

They may have slightly longer heat up times though. Just a heads up.

All in all, we will offer both and customers can choose between.

Its on the Microsoft store, so you couldn't download it no matter what unless it detects Windows 10. If they hosted the file on a different site however... There are people that could make it work on early Windows no problem.

I really hope I dont have to buy an add on that should have came standard :( Im not made of money and I spent my some of my Tax Return on this beast of a vape.

You should provide a coupon code for order numbers that are in this upcoming shipment that allow 4 QPQ pods for only shipping costs or something. 1 code or 1 use per order to stop greedy people.

Smash that like if you guys agree.

Nothing wrong with the current pods...

It auto updates your version when a new version is released.

Well I have no version until Android comes out. I just want to know when it's available without having to check the forum or Haze website for the next however long it takes for them to get developed.

See your point, just overwhelmed with tech and a bit gripey. On a less-is-more tear lately...
Glad they offer both options :peace:

@Haze Vaporizers Is there a way to identify the QPQ vs Anodized? Hadn't heard of QPQ before this thread

cui bono?
I for one have zero interest in vaping out of anything that has even the slightest potential for a coating to come off and enter the airpath. With a fleet of safe vaporizers to choose from, it's just not worth it :2c:

I feel like this next batch of vapes are still beta units - not really what pre-orders signed up for.... The change of pod material will absolutely affect the performance of the vape. It could be better, but it could also be worse. Haze themselves have already said to expect longer heat-up time.... One of the major selling points of an on-demand vape.

All in all, it seems like no one has actually tested/reviewed a truly 'production' version of this vape with all QC issues sorted and the correct QPQ steel pods.

So far I've read a lot of 'meh' reviews, a claim that the vapor is too fine to see (paraphrasing,) and not many super positive reviews. I'm having some serious pre-order remorse over here......

I wonder if it is possible to bump myself down the pre-order list until some more people receive their production units and have a chance to post some real reviews...

If you already preordered, please PM me your order id and we can refund you if you are not certain about your purchase. We have nothing experimental or beta left to do on units. As far as the pod material goes, it was a suggestion from members like other material (some suggested glass, some suggested ceramic).

The QPQ is a preference and does not make the existing pods less healthy. You may be new to Haze. We will put out more accessories and choices as members here give us feedback and ideas. This is not beta or experiment. Especially from health perspective. I know that we saw several people here who are constantly and intentionally trying to pull the conversation in this direction at all cost, repeatedly in the past but we believe that the product will speak for itself.

Sounds like you've already lost interest. But in the case of the flaking... Any that I've seen, which has been very minor, is out of the air path. So, you have 99.9% no chance to breathe some in.

Any visual clues on QPQ vs Anodized for the pre-orders? Some are, some aren't. How will we know? A sticker on the package might help the occasional worry :tinfoil:. Very eager to try a Haze product for the first time with the Square and its several years of solid development

:2c: If anyone has trepidations, I don't believe any company who has consistent presence on FC would risk the angry mob on their tail, as we micro-manage up in these threads! Also, if you check out the Haze doc on YouTube, there are several developer voices that may put you at ease. Just to remind..Haze has promised an upgrade with the pre-order

It might be nice to have some quartz dishes that drop in for concentrates. May cut back on silicone (lid) detection if the pod qets pre-heated and product subsequently vaped. Maybe a side wire to dedicatedconcentrate pods. Dunno, just a random thought. I'm no architecht by any means. -pipe dreams :leaf:

This is extremely disappointing to me. I certainly want the app to be able to set my temps, but damn if I will upgrade my home computing environment to Win 10 (rather go back to an abacus).

Not sure why as a great deal of MUCH more complex software is released and thriving in the wild for Win 7.

This completely puts me off of the Pro model as I don't see any reason to get it if I can't get the app to run on my Win 7 Pro OS.

I think this decision will limit your Pro sales. I may be wrong but it sure has put a crimp in my buying one.

So, this a tablet/PC use only. No mobile apps? No iOS or anything else? Win 10 or Mac OS? sigh

I think the vast majority of people are on either Windows 10 or Mac OS at this point. I haven't seen another complaint yet

No mobile has been clear from the start. There is no bluetooth on this device (which I am glad about) so the functionality has to be plugged into a computer of some sort.
