I always collect the stems before grinding (even the small tiny ones = less 'stress' on the grinder) and fill up a bottle with white Havanna Club Rum (no Baccardi! ;) - white Ron Santiago de Cuba would be the best choice imo ) Let it sit for a few weeks (or longer, i'd say minimum 2 days), then filter it out - it will look like the aged brown rum and taste a bit weedy, less 'sharp' (guess the hollow fiber also absorbs some of the bad alcohols). It really gives a nice buzz, somehow between edibles and vaping if hit the right dosage

Im not sure if you're drinking the weed infused rum? Or vaping the rum soaked stems?

Still searching locally for magnets....Wally World was a fun outing but only the cheap grey magnets. Michaels might be my next stop.....

Ya I can order them from multiple sources but shipping is more than the magnets. I think I found one place with free shipping but it will take a weak to get them.

@SolanGoose I have never heard of them.

is this thing on?
Thehedonistclub (TD) and the Vaposhop Team are both excellent. I have stellar expiriences with both resellers and they seem to be very much part of the Dynaworld, reading here about Barcelona.
That being said, I got one of the Silo's in the mail @InterplanetaryTanner and it's fantastic. It's true that the Vapcap Storage looks a bit dirty inside, but that's negligible. The Herb storage is A+.

How do I clean the Carbon fiber stems / bodies? Is rubbing alcohol / 70% alcohol spirit safe to use? I don't want to ruin it from the start, I would hate that. I could use water and soap, but I would prefer using alcohol.

Darn. It's where I always buy magnets when I need them right away. Great store, have all kinds of toys. http://www.leevalley.com/en/home.aspx

ETA: Oh, hobby shops? Like with model trains and etc, you might try calling there if there's one in your town.

I'm so conflicted on the subject of my LE tip. It is nice, and it blows my face off, but I still can't seem to get heating down properly. It's much more sensitive to heat than my gen 3 so I'm constantly fighting it trying to keep from overbrowning. I've never actually combusted in it, but I know there have been times where I browned the herb too quickly getting it to where I can't convince myself it'll survive another cycle so I lost the rest of those bowls. I have to keep my triple torch on the lowest setting it'll stay on, and even then I had to increase my distance from the flame by nearly a half inch compared to my old tip. What are some people with the LE tip doing as far as their heating routine? I've used my triples which is what I prefer, but only one can keep the flame low enough to not immediately scorch the load. My doubles and singles I've used have been just as bad, so I'm kind of discouraged. I'm still getting good results when I can manage to hold back the heat enough, but it's getting kind of tiresome having to put so much effort in. And I find I usually have to dump the load out and put it back in to completely extract which I -never- have to do with my old one. I'm gonna give it another month or two, but unless something changes I can easily see myself going back to my gen 3 tip.

Have you considered going with an induction heater...I'm hoping that the IH will offer me more consistency with the VC. I believe I've read here that the IH will do just that?

I don't have an LE tip, but I do have an IH, and I can say that it has indeed offered me more consistent results than using flame. It's certainly worth a try.

I have an induction heater, but I don't love mine as much as others. It works, although I haven't tried it with this tip, but I still prefer torches. I only really use the IH if it's windy

I think the problem you are having is related to your using 2 very different tips that will behave quite differently. The Gen3 tip has a relatively thin groove and behaves noticeably differently than the newer tips with the scalloped wider grooves. The newer tips behave more like one another than the gen 3. If you were comparing the LE tip with the Gen4 or 5 you would see less difference between them.

I personally use a triple torch most of the time for ease of use and speed to vapor. I tend to use a triple with all my tips. If I don't happen to have one available I can comfortably use either a double or single, but I prefer the triple.

The differences between the Gen 4, 5 and LE are more subtle than the differences between either of them and the gen 3. But they all are at least slightly different. Or so it seems to me. I think the difference between the Gen3 and the rest is more like the difference between steel and Ti...

So with your LE tip and a triple flame torch, what is your heating procedure?

So with your LE tip and a triple flame torch, what is your heating procedure?
So, part of why I like the triple is just by rotating it I can choose 1, 2 or 3 flames to heat the vape based on strain, moisture and load, so there may be some variation in procedure. That being said I typically go for flavor in the first heating so I heat to click and mouth pull till i get the cool down click. There is usually little visible vapor on this round, but good flavor. Then I heat to click again and I get a full bodied hit until the temp comes down. It will stop giving vapor before the click and I may stop hitting and put it on a magnet or I may just cool it by continuing to hit it. I usually dump in my hand after this hit and suck it back in the tip to stir it. Often the goods closer to the cap tip are darker and a stir helps.
On the third heating I still get good vapor usually but it weakens. I may try another heating if I think I didn't get everything when I dump it into my hand.

At home this is different because I am almost always using glass. With glass everything is sped up and sometimes I don't even bother with the flavor, but if I want to I do the first hit without the glass. Going through water steals flavor.
With a glass piece it is way easier to get it all in one or two heating cycles as I am using my lungs to pull instead of my mouth. The hits are huge and it is rare that a third cycle is necessary. If I am feeling stingy I may try anyway, but it usually won't be productive.

The manner I go about this is very similar if not the same for gen 4, 5, or the LE tip, tho the results may be a little different. Of the 3 tips the LE tip seems to be a little different and SEEMS to exhaust the vapor without darkening the ABV as much, but this has been hard to quantify. But as I say, those 3 tips are more similar than different.

I find this discussion on the tips and their individual nature fascinating. I've only been part of the Dynaverse since December so I have all the same generation everything, and they operate the same.

I have found that if I'm going to combust with my vapcaps it's when I'm using my waterpipe and drawing a lung pull. I have to be careful how much I push t he IH when I'm using my vong/wp.

@cybrguy try your WP without water. Great taste, cool vapor, and no mess, no spills. And a great way to collect honey for stem milk too.

Just got notice that the '18 M is shipping. I should be able to offer some feedback by the weekend.

I have tried this and I can appreciate why people like it. I, personally, hate cleaning glass and find without the water (and the accompanying Cranberry Extract) the glass gets pretty dirty pretty quickly and is much harder to clean. It also doesn't cool as well as water. I think I enjoy the humidifying of the water as much as the cooling, which you also won't get.
I clean glass stems and other metal parts (like condensers) in a jar of ISO which I occasionally evaporate off to get some reclaim, but it tastes so nasty that I don't do it often. It gets more attractive during lean times. I usually end up wasting this as I tend to waste my ABV. I have at least a few ounces of ABV right now that is likely to get tossed as I never seem to do anything with it. It is a shame, but the person I used to give it to is in the city and a hassle to get to, but it is kinda silly to keep collecting it...

@stark1 I am just being picky. It looks like Ebay has what I want with free shipping. I have 1/2 cubes and 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4 in my cart....25 bucks delivered.

These magnets sourced from Amazon work well in an array of 4 together:
https://imgur.com/a/QxWr6

I paid under $10 for 35 of them. They also work well to hold boveda packs to the bottom of mason jar lids.
They are called “Round magnets for refrigerator by Jack Chloe, 35 pcs 10mm x 3mm”
