So my new cocobolo nonavong body came last night and I got a chance to have a few sessions with it. Similarly to @mmenzie I'm finding that my (gen 2) Ti tip and condenser fit very, very snugly into the body, especially the mouthpiece. I can't actually spin the mouthpiece to adjust the airflow while the body is on it (which I can do with the Ti body). Not a huge deal since I almost always have it fully closed, but will this get a bit looser over time or should I maybe try some dynawax on the o-rings next time I take it apart?

I also noticed that on one side of the tip end, the angle of the cut was a bit off and the tip rests on my table top while laying on its side. You can see the difference in the picture with the bubbler. The DynaVap logo is also quite shallow. Not a big deal, but for $28 on sale I was expecting a bit better QC.

Definitely don't want to sound like I'm just complaining, I'm very pleased with the seal of the wood on my bubbler versus the big rubber MP, and of course the look of the wood grain and how much better it sits on the bubbler. In use not much is different, though I find the tactile click is gentler than on the Ti body, which makes me glad I opted for the M over the regular nonavong for my FIL as he is hard of hearing. Overall if not for the fit and cut issues I'd be very pleased.

Just got an M starter! combusted once sofar lol...
Spinning is alot harder then it looks, I keep moving the M outta the flame. Looks like I need lots of practice. Any one using the Z-Plus 2 torch? I tried turning down the flame height and it still seemed huge ended up adjusting to much and could hear gas escaping lol turned it the other way now i cant get the damned thing to light!

3 things to help...

- Does it still have gas?

- Perhaps a purge and refill will work? (YouTube filling a torch lighter)

- If you look down where the flame comes out.. See the spark when you click it... That little piece of metal/wire the spark comes from... Can you gently bend it further into the path of the gas?


When trying to see if your lighter will light... Have the flame height adjuster set notably over half way to maximum , but definitely not near maximum.

Thanks for the help . I drained and purged it stil wasn't working then I notice it has a separate flame adjustment. I was unscrewing the gas fill valve lol. My other torch you fill and adjust in the same spot.
Works now that I adjusted the correct screw....

Easy enough to block the air hole by moving an X-ring to the other side of the hole. That is what I did with my nonavong and it works fine.

Two vapcaps tips are definitely better than one, you'll save your o-rings from excessive wear due to swapping so often.

I clean my VCs as soon as they arrive. Already starting in on the wear and tear before even using it.

Yea, o-ring protection was one of my justification points in my internal debate.

Tip A might fit better on Body B better for instance. Yes, I am so glad I got two 'M's as my first purchase and the extra screens with both types of rings. For a handful of versatile reasons. ,,, , , .....

Including 2x-ing your learning curve. Or is that your XP boost. ?

It even helped buying two Ti's with my recent purchase, My new cap keeps falling off my new Ti tip but fits O.K. on the other one that arrived.

So is it even that more suitable for the glass stem that I have. It needs the cap inside it's glass socket keep from falling out. And the Ti tip was definitely an upgrade for the glass stem. It was a heavy hitter on it's own.

Update on the telescoping glass VC. I can take out the bulb MP - faux condenser and slip a fat MP on the blue part of the body and slide it inside a female 18mm socket and plug all into the 'Q'. I can collapse the telescope even further than the pic suggest for hitting it straight or pull it out more than twice the length of an 'M' body to the other length extreme. If there wasn't a blue dot near the end, I could slide it all the way down into the EVO like a the 'M' or a glass nail. Never tried to heat the VC with the EVO in it's sitting position that the Tele VC allows with the EVO. It would take a long heat soak to work I figure.

Oh I came up with a cheat to keep my tip in my Telescope from falling out. A very small amount of cotton half loop wedged between the rings seems to help.

Made a Frankenstein's monster VC. Ti tip, M body. Glass condenser from an OG VC, a fat mouthpiece to cover the part of the glass sticking out and a condenser ring between the glass and Tip to keep them from hitting each other.

It works great for heating up in my EVO.

Thanks for the reply! I should try puffitup again, I tried to do a PayPal purchase for something else from them a few months ago and their PayPal checkout was down for maintenance or something so I forgot about them. But I’ll try again.

On another note, I could use some advice on cleaning my current Dynavap. My vape-oblivious cousin was over and found my Dynavap and thought it was a one-y and proceeded to use it for smoking/combustion. I took it apart and gave everything a hot water rinse but I still can’t get the rancid smoke smell out of it. I’m not sure what model it is because it was a gift but I’ll post pictures of it. Any help would be appreciated, I wanted to ask you guys first so I don’t ruin it trying to do it myself.

First, all the suggestions you'll get from other people, whatever they might be. Wood is tricky. I've used an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner for titanium components.

Then, put it in a bag overnight with some activated charcoal.

I keep my bud in mason jars with 58% Boveda packs, and it vapes perfectly.

I do the same thing and found out something interesting recently. The Boveda packs only seem to work properly in FULL jars. I had 2 jars - 1 full and 1 half full both with Boveda 58% packs - after 10 days the full jar was noticably drier and curing better than the half full. I spoke to the guy at my local hydro store and he confirmed this.

air intake hole; move the ring beyond the intake (towards the tip) to effectively block the air, making
it a carbless equivalent.

You asked about a "carbless nonavong". I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about an Omni. I assume you mean a vong without an air hole. On an Omni you can virtually block the air hole by twisting it closed, but I don't understand why you would want a carb with no air hole on one. That would make the Omni condenser useless. The Omni adjustment controls how much air is mixed in from the air hole with the air you are pulling through the cap.

The Omni does not need an extra o-ring to be carbless. You just adjust the Omni to allow no air flow.
