Anyone who said the $50 circular one tips over either is using it wrong, letting the cable hang off the edge of the table and drag it down, or didn't screw the post in all the way I think.

I can get it to lean by applying pressure, but I have to really be trying to get it to tip.

I've tried all the holder options aside from the kickstand and the new debowler(oh and the box). Kickstand I'm sure is nice if you wanna be cheap, but I'd go for the circular debowler now, and will be buying that next time I make an order from NV. I'm dumping my bowls into a small wooden bowl, and using the little poker I got with my Tubo to clean off the screens, but the debowler will be much better I think (for me and how I use the FP at least)

Also wanna say I'm glad more people are pulling the trigger now. I read a lot before I did and still wasn't sure how I'd end up liking this thing. I knew it'd get me really baked, and that at the very least, it'd replace my torch+bangers for dabbing...

Well... I don't use anything else at home now. Flowers OR oil. This thing kicks ASS. It's just tons of fun to use, so be prepared to be smashing down .1g bowls of flower back-to-back-to-back, just because it's so damn fun. Or maybe it was just me...

Which stand? I'm thinking kickstand, because I don't use a 2 piece grinder and dump into the dish, and i've heard that the $50 circular one can fall over with the weight of the head? So $10 vs $85 is a pretty easy decision for me.

Showerhead! Haven't got around to squishing yet, and as you know i'm only down with solventless! But planning on purchasing a wrap-around SiC down the road as well.

So did I! I've been around since the start, but due to circumstances couldn't even consider a desktop at the time so kinda of lost interest, until now!

@steama - you know how much i'm a super supreme v3 fanatic, yet this morning I just wish I had the FP to hit! I so can't wait!

I forgot to mention that the fit finish and quality of all the newvape stuff was tops!

So cool watching that vapour density instantly go MILK with that carb cap!
Do you have yourself a rosin press yet? I'm working on building something with 3.75"x3.75" plates and a 4-ton press (can go higher later if need be). I figure my cost of materials is as follows (in CAD):

- Aluminum 3.75" x 8" x 1" thick plate - $50 shipped
- PID controller w/ relay and thermocouple - $50 shipped
- 2x300W Cartridge Heater - $30
- 1/2" threaded rod, washers, and nuts - already have it so free
- 2x steel plate for frame - still working on this ... hopefully from a local machine shop for a reasonable price
- 4-ton bottle jack - $15

So total cost should be $145 + steel plates ... add $50 if I want dual PID controllers ... I'll likely start with 1, and will add a 2nd if need be.

I'm with you on solventless which is why I've been looking at this ... don't have $500-$1,000 to spend on a pre-built press though!

@JCat, is 3,75 x 8' size of the final plates??
That would mean with your 4 t press you will get 267psi, way too less. Even half the size would be too less.

Don't forget the spring returns for the bottle jack.

Thanks guys (although I think we're in the wrong thread now that I think about it :)) ... I guess I'll go with the 8 ton bottle jack (still <$20) ... I'll just have to make sure the frame I'm building can take the stress (safety being of top concern).

I won't be pressing much at a time ... the size of the plates is more for future expandability ... doubtful I'll press more than a gram at a time as I'm still mainly a flower user, but like some concentrates occasionally.

Therein lies the dilemma ... I want solventless but I live in the middle of nowhere so it's difficult to acquire (and expensive), I don't go through a lot so investing in even a small press @ >$400USD (ie. $600 CAD) seems excessive. The hair straightener method though is far from satisfactory ... and I broke the one I had from my wife's collection. I'm hoping this will get me reasonable results for a reasonable price for small presses.

Edit: I could go with smaller plates too ... but then I limit my ability to expand later by building a new/stronger frame and adding a larger bottle jack ... and like @NewVape710 said ... the size of the material being pressed is what matters, not the size of the plates ... there would be tons of PSI I believe on a 0.5g nug ... thoughts from those of you with experience though is appreciated!

For a super cheap press you can take one of these https://www.amazon.com/Professional...9764&sr=8-3&keywords=kipozi+hair+straightener

Gut the heating elements/controls and mount each element inside a piece of aluminum rectangular tubing, then mount those plates to a bench vise.

Yeah ... that's sort of what I'm going for, just a little more sophisticated ... should have a solid, properly temp controlled press for $200-$250 CAD when I'm done ... 8 ton ... if I wanted to mount in my bench vise it would be $130 done. (which is likely what I'll try first while I'm figuring out the frame for the bottle jack press)

My suggestion is to try and build something like this.
It's based around the harbor 20 ton ($80 pump)
https://www.newvape.com/errlpress-20-ton-rosin-press-9079

there's more photos at
https://www.instagram.com/errlpress/

please consider that saving money on the one time investment (press) will result in a lifetime of wasted rosin left in the bag. we repress all 10 ton bags in a 20 ton press and always get more out.

The harder you press the more comes out.

I would never suggest anything less than 10 ton.

I do have a new bimetal press plate set and 2nd generation closed loop control dropping this week price will be less than $500 with 2 heat zones. https://www.instagram.com/p/BXiXdcFliaF/?taken-by=newvape710

It's probably best not discuss rosin presses to much here.

I tend to reclaim oil from my rigs when I clean and pray I never have to use them in a drought.

How does the mix of flower effect reclaim. Do the flower particles make it into the reclaim? I imagine it would look pretty dirty, but figured I'd ask those with experience.

The Flowerpot is so appealing to me...

If:

(1) You are using standard metal screen filters, and
(2) You need to keep your glass really clean and "ABV-free"

Then:

I've found that some kind of ash catcher or particle trap is pretty much ESSENTIAL with the FlowerPot under those conditions. I am currently using 14mm and 18mm M-F inline "hookah carbon filters" filled with a small wad of Degummed Hemp Fiber instead of the activated charcoal carbon. It works better than any other trap or bead filter that I've devised and tried so far... and you can vape the hemp fiber when it eventually loads up with condensed oil (Stoney! :o). I'm still looking for a good vertical inline slim profile bubbler ash catcher, but I'm not holding my breath (heh... punny, eh? :D )

Probably the cheapest and easiest solution for you would be to buy some Degummed Hemp Fiber and wedge a wadded up ball somewhere in the glass path. Imagination may be required. ;)

I finally got around to switching back to the dnail wrap around head after using the showerhead for exclusively for a month or more. Dabbing from it after using the showerhead is like night and day to me. The flavor off of SiC is just better.

I have found the new handle bowl design with the groove to be much better for reclaim. I have been using 2 screens in my bowls and the reclaim is coming out nice with little to no abv particles in it. Before the grooved bowls I always had abv in the reclaim. I have an extra bowl with no screen I use if I’m just going to dab.

Waiting for my Showerhead but also interested in the SiC Wrap Arounds. Has anybody experiences in comparison of the OG SiC Wrap Around and the D-Nail SiC Wrap Around?
What are exacetly the differences in use and performance regarding the different dishes?
