The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I had my reservations on the glass mouthpiece, the first weeks I had it on.

The native Mighty is a well built machine, and now, after having been using the glass mouthpiece for a couple of months, I think it's a nice addition, but it isn't as reliable as the original (plastic) mouth piece, but I still use it:

Pros (for me):
- Slightly better air flow, as it seems to move a bit more volume than the original mouth piece
- You can see the glass MP getting dirtier with oils, and thus know when it's time to clean the unit.

Cons (for me):
- It doesn't fit as sturdy as the original MP, meaning that it can pop out when you're turning it, or that you can't hold the weight of the Mighty by the MP (which you can do with the original MP): No hands mode
- There's some build up (dry saliva?) on the outside, after some use
- You have to be a lot more careful when operating it, not recommended to be used in sessions with more than yourself. I actually know a guy who changed to the glass MP, went to see his bro, bro wanted to try the MP, twist and crash in the floor. My friend never got to try the glass MP.

Hope that helps!

buy once cry once

I like that!

One thing to add for long life is, when you put the cooling unit on and twist, make sure it is seated evenly. and twist gently. Otherwise you can possibly break a fin (the top plastic of the unit) or separate the two halves of the unit. Mighty also works great with zero battery life, plugged in! It will charge while you vape...

I do micro loads not with the capsules (pods) but with a small amount in bowl, and the mesh pad on top. Enjoy mate!

I am still not sure to obtain a glass moutpiece.

You really should! I got mine for all of $9, shipping included. It is a different feeling for sure. It is a bit larger, and it feels like an additional place for the vape to collect before reaching your mouth. Like going to a posh VIP room before showtime. A royal glass handoff of the vapor. It's definitely cooler. When you eventually go back to the S&B plastic mp, it will feel flat, squished! Here, the vapor doesn't congregate, it passes right through to your mouth. Doesn't get the royal glass finish, but it's more direct.

The difference is the shape of your lips.
With the S&B, your lips are in the position to make an"mmm" sound
With the glass, your lips are in more of a rounded, whistling position.

What you lose with the glass mp is the one handed swivel open/close with your thumb. It becomes a two handed operation.

Do you have a second cooling unit? I've been going back and forth, one with plastic at lower temps, and the other with glass at the end of session. Have fun :)

Run through probably 5 dosing capsules or so and have to say I am very impresssed. The Mighty packs a punch! Super psychoactive and really get a head high from a single .01 capsule.

I will say the vapor is harsher on my throat then expected. Running about 375 - 385 F.

Look forward to learning to really dial it in but a strong starting point for sure

Here's some Mighty love....on MAX temp..... 0.1g with a 60 second conduction heat soak. Taste was okay. I don't do low temps, and ABV goes in the trash...stopped abv utilization about 5 years ago.

Lot of work for nothing more than using it the normal way...trust me...I use water stems and really there is not a lot of difference in my opinion....next year will mark the 50th year I've been enjoying marijuana..

Looks like a job for!
Heyo, looking for some advice on the battery replacement.

I feel it's time to get it done, but I'm concerned they are going to try to upcharge me as the LCD does not turn on instantly when you power it up, but it does vibrate and the screen normally comes on by the time its heated up. It's probably a joint for the LCD that has gone out and as it heats up it expands to make full contact.

So if they are usually prety nice about overlooking little wonkiness with the unit then it seems a no brainier to get it serviced. But if they are stingy and I'll wind up having to basically pay for a new one then it's not worth it to send it off and I'll just hang on to it till it dies and look at replacing the cells myself which can't be that hard compared to laptop maintenance.

Anyone have any kind of similar situation recently care to share their experience?

I trust you, but there is a MASSIVE difference with using water filtration IMO. Cooling, filtering, and moisturizing simply do not occur to the same extent with the stock cooling unit.

And what you call work, I call FUN! I like water tools like a third lung, and I get MUCH more out of the experience than using it the normal way as you say! And, don't forget that everyone is different! Some people can combust, hit vapes dry at high temps, and have fucking calluses on their lungs. That's great, but some of us are more sensitive, health conscience, and like the ability to be able to take MASSIVE hits (did you see my EXHALE dude???)..... only 0.1g too.

Definitely have to agree with this, with a full bowl in mighty at 180c I cannot directly inhale into the lungs without fighting off gagging, starting at 195 will make me cough almost instantly everytime, literally cannot toke off it... But run the mighty through my "The Honey Bubbler" and I can kick it off at 210c and no issues unless i really go for the stupidly big rips that completely fill my lungs to brim.

Try the recommended range of 356- 374 (180-190C)

While vaping herb, and depending on the herb, we start at 340F. At that low of a temp you may only get taste and not much vapor, but we gradually go up in temps ending around 380F. You can finish sooner and perhaps get more effects at hotter temps tho.

I prefer low temp vaping because of asthma, but low temp hits are the most flavorable. You do leave more in the abv, but the trade off is less wear and tear on your lungs. Worth it IMHO.

And now the last few months, we mostly vape rosin. With rosin we start at 395F and soon go to 410. The taste stays good until the very end. And it does resin up your cooling unit faster, but you also get more effects.

Whatever style you prefer the mighty (like the "Dude") abides!

Hey shredder!
I only wrote that to the person who mentioned the Mighty being harsher than expected, and he was vaping 375 and up. So I figured I'd get him into 356 land.

As for me, I am like you! A low temp vaper......... 333 is my start :) unless I'm outside, then 345. After multiple bowls, (when the bowl is hot) I even got flavor at 318

What is rosin? I have rosin for my bass bow so I can bow my vibraphone, lol
Is that the same as wax?

So are the dosing capsules better than using the regular oven?

Not better, just different. Definitely more convenient. Super convenient, actually. Effortless dump/reload. You use less material by using a capsule. Some people save their ABV in the capsule unit they get home. Some make/add screens to micro dose in the capsule.
(I prefer to micro dose pouring a small amount into the bowl, and using the mesh pad)
Some take the screen out of the CU because the capsules have screen lids.
Also with capsules, you can also heat the unit to temp, first, then drop the capsule in for no wasted terpenes....

The Mighty is so great because of all the options. Small pack, big pack, moist, dry, coarse grind, fine grind, even nuts! It all works. Try that, Ghost MV1

The cleanliness of the regular oven, using dosing capsules, is for me the biggest pro argument. ( specialy in illegal states/country ).

I can leave my home only with my smell-proof caddy full of capsules without grinders and bud.

With dosing caps, the quality of extraction, and the length of the sessions does not change for me.

Not to me. I think.

Same here, although convenient, I could never replicate the experience I wanted using them. Must be due to more material in oven, and more conduction? I just found the experience somewhat wispier, and weaker.

What is rosin?

Oh boy! :worms:

It's the nectar of cannabis gods!

:rofl:But the Ghost is supposed to be SO much smoother, even compared to the Mighty's cooling unit! According to some famous reviewers ;) And full convection lol

Been in the thread! Couldn't work out Aussie plug enail or any of it so nailed the idea and got an evo. Probably still get a FP at some point though
I can't believe I didn't get s mighty sooner, wasn't so much the money more the perceived value.
Let me tell anyone on the fence, if treating yourself isn't going break the bank and you're just being cheap. The unit is price accordingly for what has so far been superb performance and feel rough as nails. considering I was gonna get a more session like portable regardless, if you're in the same boat and can stretch it but just don't see where the money goes, it's all in there

Came to read about grinders; fucked combustion
thought plastic grinder was not even worth putting in my box! Krauts proved me wrong again!

Volcano (Mighty) grinder fucking rules. I've had more than a few expensive grinders, and the $5/free Volcano grinder seems to have become my favorite; even though I hate every other 2-piece grinder (big-time manual dexterity issues).

Yea very glad. I was gonna go the boundless but for $220 Aussie retail vs $400 I feel like money very well spent. Was thinking about sourcing one if the Chinese convection things on the cheap. I really don't mind paying for quality, I also really don't mind getting something you love on the cheap. This is not a purchase I'll ever regret. I probably wouldn't replace it straight away if it broke due to cost. Like say if I lost my VC minimum ordering a glass standard one that day, it's just happening. Bit like if I crashed a bmw uninsured vs my work truck. To others this is a work truck, it is gonna fill a lot of POU that i didn't even consider when purchasing so very practical buy, but to me it is still more of a luxury item that I'm glad I treated myself too. I like tech, don't use a PC hate them, and drones are expensive. From an appreciation of cool gadgets perspective you'll smile every time... Could be worth it to some people right there

A word of caution on the S&B orange plastic grinder. Be on the lookout for tiny bits of the tips going missing. It's happened on more than one grinder I've had and left me wondering Where the fuck did that piece wind up?
So I discontinued use, even though I really like how they work. Went back to trusty old OG Cosmic 4 piece, which pays a dividend over time, in kief...

Best grinder i know.
Will check for little plastik parts splitting off.

Ok, or i will buy a new one every year.
They are impossible to clean.
Whish they had a clear lid on both sides.
