Discontinued Ghost MV1

Is overheating and forced breaks between hits a common occurance? I like my vapes to outpower Chong. I want to be able to hit as long and often as I want and abuse the shit out of it while it does it's job flawlessly. One of the reasons I like my Solo 2 so much is it'll put up with anything. I've ran seshes for nearly an hour straight between my friends with 0 decline whatsoever in performance. She just continued to say Hi and smile back.

Anyone think this is a drawback of the Ghost or am I overthinking it? Love all the reviews guys so far, very informative and very much appreciated. :)

If I'm being redundant, I apologize. Here's a link to a youtube channel hosting 3 MV1 vids. The 2nd video is lets you clearly hear the sound the vape makes when using:

Every picture I've seen so far of uneven vaporization or charring has been because of improper loading or grind consistency, to make it easy:

Nice photos Bud, can I see a photo of the first one (the correct one) after a full extraction at max temp WITHOUT stirring? Or does this vape needs stirring? If it needs stirring I don't mind but will be nice to see how ABV at max temp looks

I would not say your over thinking it....but from my prospective of using the Air for a good bit.....the MV1 extracts so much more and more efficient. One hit on the MV1 as it is going after the first hit, is equal to three hits on my Air with water. Plus you can have the option to hit at will which is worth so much for me. I hated having to know my sesh ended in exactly 10 mins or less with my Air. I did not like being rushed to finish the load. I got tons of hits with .09 loads in the Air....but it was a work out to finish them completely. I didn't want to waste. And the MV1 excels here because it is just barely larger per load and you get so much more out of each load in comparison.

Also, I could only use my Air and Vapcap through water...unable otherwise for me. With the MV1....I am almost confident I no longer need water to tolerate medicating as I am sensitive to vaping. That said, I could no longer tolerate combusting either.....

The app is not even available yet so the preset settings that we early users have is actually preset with unlocked with the 2 extra heat modes for concentrates and such. But we can not set those preset temps yet. I find that the 2 lowest settings for dry flower is perfect....in comparison to the 3 lower levels in the OG Air.

My MV1 works fine after a handful of sessions. I already feel that it was by far the best thing I have purchased no matter cost.

If your going to use this vape as a pass around unit....I'm not sure as it is a personal only one for me. I would not want to share it as the setup of the mouth piece and my personal use.

Nice review @ohmygodimsohigh, well done!

This vape is not for me, but it looks legit :)
There are many things to put me off, but those who said, .1 ghost brings the same results at .25 in a mighty is mind blowing (I still doubt it).
For me the 2 most important things other than getting great vapor are comfort/ease of use and maintenance.
I don't like so many parts, as I tend to play with my device and lose parts all the time :)
To load this again and again seems like a bit of a struggle - compared to a solo or a mighty.
What I like about the mighty is the ease of use , what I like about the solo is maintenance free.
These 2 aspects are very important, especially for a portable device and while I would love to get my hands on one of this bad boys, I will be waiting for a better solution for usage... as for cleaning, well there's not much to do... I prefer having stems (tho I wish stems were much cheaper so you could really go out and about with a range of stems in your bag haha)

Anyways, I wanna see more vapor comparison.
If this is stronger than the mighty, why not compare it to the markets top desktop vaporizers? would be interesting.

Hey guys, I feel reluctant to call this a 'review' as I believe in knowing all the ins and outs of a vape before doing a review. I normally push at least an ounce through a vape before reviewing.

However with the Ghost there's just too much hype to wait around

This thing kept me blazed for the better part of its first 24 hours, which made for some awkward moments with plumbers yesterday.

IN THE VIDEO, I want to point out a few things:
- I didn't put the usual production or planning into it, it was very rushed
- in case it is not clear in the video, the MV1 failed during the video because the screen was clogged and the heatsink was not sealing properly. I should have caught the screen issue sooner

I will be making more in depth comparisons soon, and I'll be showing off concentrates (which is where this vape DOES live up to the hype)

Thanks so much for this video, @ohmygodimsohigh. First I've seen from you and I thought it was excellent. You have drop kicked me off the VAS fence on this one and I'm glad that I saw this before I managed to get my e-mail from Ghost. Maybe V2.

Think I will wait for an independent review with no bias. Very disappointing this video "review" and completely out of style for Troy, none of this negativity for any other vape he's had no matter how bad it was.
You can see this Ghost hate pattern go back a few months both on Reddit and IG with his hashtags of #MVwhat.

If you go to Puffitup.com (an FC sponsor) and check out their stem selection. They have one with an integrated non-leak water filtration for $15, black short and long stems, they even have a high-flow mouthpiece with notches to assist in ease of draw.

These puffitup stems are all reasonable priced.

Have To agree with this unfortunately. Seems to have a predetermined negative outlook. Internet sword fighting almost with this vape, #why? And I don't care about the failed marketing, lack of sticking with their timeline etc. I've had to wait for much more important things in my life and one less vape isn't going to ruin my day. I have to also admit that Bud seems biased as well and I have always enjoyed his reviews and until this mv1 have never thought that at all. He has some skin in the game this time and it's natural to push that way, but I got the feeling he truly believed in it and have to say although I've read a good bit, no one has said the vapor quality was anything but great barring a couple that had some issues and weren't seem to be working properly.

From what I've been reading, the MV1 is much more comparable to the FF2 than the Mighty. They both need a certain grind, certain draw speed, learning curve, etc... I have never tried the MV1 so I can't really say how it performs, but from what I'm reading... not taking sticky buds, filling it to a certain level, taking a long 15 second draw, watching your speed, etc... it's certainly a turn off and I would assume these little things would take off points from the overall average of the vaporizer itself. We're in 2017 and I feel like these little "quirks" should not be acceptable especially since there are vaporizers out there that shows you can make a vaporizer that can accommodate different types of packing, draw speed/length, herb quality, etc. With VC giving this vaporizer the title of best portable vaporizer, I am certain a lot of people will be disappointed when they purchase it and it's not as easy to use as it appears. This is the exact same situation when the FF2 first came out and it was declared the best portable vaporizer at the time. In my opinion just from reading, this is more of a connoisseur device and is not for everyone as seen from VC review. With that said, I'm still ordering one since I'm a connoisseur myself.

I bought one of the final production units without Ghost knowing, the same one you guys are getting now, I got it Friday night. I won't post my packing list here but I took pics of it if you want to see it.

Two things are different with this latest one versus the units in my review videos, and they both have to do with tolerances being tightened up slightly too much.

1) The mouthpiece stem rubbing/scratching the ceramic - This is a new issue I didn't experience with my review units, and as soon Ghost got complaints about it they immediately told everybody new stems are being produced and will be sent to anyone affected for free. They were able to solve the problem by slightly recuding the diameter of the lip at the bottom of the glass stem, it's a hair too wide on the some them causing it to rub. The only part that will need to be replaced is the mouthpiece stem, no modifications or changes to the vape are necessary. If you are affected by the rubbing mouthpiece issue contact Ghost and let them know and they will put you on the list to be taken care of.

2) My door latch button is tighter - The door latch is definitely a little tighter on this latest unit, but the issue seems to resolve itself almost fully after the door is opened and closed a bunch of times. This is due to the tolerances being tightened during final manufacturing, and they're aware of this and addressing it, and anyone who feels that their door latch is abnormally hard to open can contact Ghost for help. After a handful of uses the door latch on this new unit is only slightly tighter than my review units.

Other than those two things this final production unit is performing exactly the way it should. Some people are reporting that their units are running hot, and in some cases this is actually true. Ghost is fully aware of this and actually put a notice out about it before they started shipping. Once the app is available and you can pair your vape to it it'll automatically reset all of the default heat levels to the correct temperatures. With a properly functioning vape and the crucible loaded the correct way you will not experience any charring or overheating.

@shaolinmilk it shouldn't be anywhere near as hard as the FF2 to get good vapor from, I already learned my lesson from that experience.

Just wondering if you ordered through you so that you got the free quick charger... ;)

Very well said my man. I think any vape that has huge hype is going to have over the top excitement and over the top frustration/speculative assumptions. This is something only time fixes. It'll just be a rough point until enough units are out there. Milaana went through something similar, although it wasn't a massively marketed product so it died down quick once reviews got out there. A few sold theirs who didn't like, new people picked those ones up, and voila. We now have a moderately functioning thread :)

Just comes down to vape signature in my opinion. I think people are getting a different stone and attributing it to a much more potent stone. I could obviously be wrong. Also using smaller doses, in my experience, is instantly more efficient and effective than sucking on a fat loaded bowl for 15 minutes.

Not saying it's not more potent, just saying more could be at play to make people perceive it that way.

This is my first experience with a video by Troy but I'm missing where he seemed so negative. He appeared to have several frustrations that did not seem unreasonable but he stated multiple times that he loved the vapor that the thing produces. It was clearly not a glowing endorsement but it also did not seem like a hack and slash job.

Leave it loaded in the vape. :brow:

I wanted to carry two loaded crucibles with one in the vape. Tried rubber band (did not work slipped off). wrap does not seem
to be tight enough. Foil I will try. I would like the crucible carrier accessory that is coming.

CLEANING the crucible. This is not easy to get it completely pristine clean. After using q-tips and iso which left some dark stains in the corner. Tried using hot iso. That did not work. Finally tried pbw cleaner. Hot water small amount left for two hours. That cleaned it.

You may want to try precision q-tips (with ISO) to get in the corners.

Fair enough. I agree, I just thought maybe what people are saying here is actually real.

I really want to try the ghost mainly for the taste.

@VCBud - Can you please compare the vapor taste to a Cloud EVO, I really wonder if its in the same league, that would be insane...

No worries at all, we all have opinions. That's just the way it came across to me, with the don't believe the hype banner etc... just came across negatively biased for some reason. BUT, in the big picture, BUd seemed biased to me as well, just on the positive side, lol. I can certainly see your argument as well though. I appreciate both of those guys work and typically view both although I do lean towards Bud as I found his reviews first and liked his style. To each his own.

I have the ff2, and have always liked it, never was a pain in the butt to me and never had an issue with it and I preordered that one as well. Waited forever, lol. I love the flavor, hate the long pulls and how hard I have to pull, the pax3 is so much easier to use, but no where near as tasty or efficient. All the mv1 has to do for me besides the obvious affects of it is stay as efficient as the ff2, keep the awesome flavor, have an easier draw, and not stink like my pax3 every time I use it and I will very happy.

Hi guys, thank you for all the feedback regarding my video.
I realize it's very different than my typical format and tone.
I certainly didn't plan or intend to cause turmoil anywhere.

The lack of planning has clearly created some mixed interpretations.

For what it's worth, my video still represents how my vape performs.
Even with course grinds, clean screens, hard pulls, soft pulls.
