Arizer Solo II

Finally!! Arizer just released the Solo 2 for $249.99 20 minutes ago. At this price point a lot of us is going to compare it to the mighty that we can get for another $70 or so these days. Is the Solo 2 worth $250 ... ?
I doubt.
$300 CAD... Ouch
Let's wait a little bit, that price will be dropping soon
I believe it worth Air street price of $169 or a bit more, say $199. And we will see these prices soon, some in a week, more in a month.

Arizer will you take my money already??! 4/20 in only 9 days, and need to spend my money on something!

Well at least we know Arizer reads this thread!

But with only free shipping as an incentive, and priced even higher than what I paid for the OG Solo when it first came out, i'm out!

I will be 100% buying one of these, but since i'm on a protracted forced break at the moment, i'll wait for a 4/20 sale (since retailers ALWAYS price lower than their absurd msrp website pricing) or longer.

Seriously, they should have offered a better discount than free shipping like the AIR did when first released for the EARLY ADOPTERS.... just in case these new electronics have some issues and startup RMA's (just like the OG Solo did!).

So 2 things Arizer has changed so far (for the worse). Instead of just "announcing", they took a month or more to announce before release (perfect lead up hype to 4/20), and second - no real incentive for early adopters except for free shipping. Air was free shipping + a good $ discount off if purchased direct. I see no reason to buy direct anymore.

Now off to the Puffitup thread....Raaaaaanddyy!!!!!!!

Has this been posted yet? I like how Arizer doesn't cut corners by including a case for the Solo 2, as well as the stem caps are a nice touch. And after reflection, i'm okay with the lack of the bent stem as it was too easy to swirl/turn on its own when the stems loosen up. I'm planning on picking up a couple of Air short stems as well, since this thing heats up in 20 secs and fits in your pocket easier it's going to be a much better portable.

I take it back, I don't care when they are releasing it, i'm all IN. 4/20 or not! Just the heat up time, form factor, adjustable shut off timer, batter life, higher bandwidth (above 220c cap and ability to vape below 185c) and digital display are enough for me.

and this:

SOLO II FAST FACTS:
  • Priced at $???
  • Full digital temperature control 122 - 428°F / 50 - 220°C
  • 28 seconds heat up time to max temp of 428°F (24 seconds to 390°F)
  • Hybrid convection / conduction heating
  • 3 Hours of continuous vape time
  • 0.15 Grams bowl capacity
  • 2 Year warranty on workmanship and defects | 1 year warranty on battery | lifetime warranty on heating element
The new bowl design with “recessed heat jets” opens up the air flow a lot and I didn’t feel restricted like with the original Solo.

SUM IT UP

The Arizer Solo 2 is what you always wanted the original Solo to be - faster and smaller with a longer lasting battery, increased air flow, full digital temperature control and all the session parameter tweaking you can handle. I love it!

The battery seems to last forever and the vapor is cool and tasty. I can see this being a daily driver for just about anyone.

Where you at @stickstones ??? Nice review bro!!!

:nod::clap::rockon::bowdown::luv::love::drool::D
I just did a 180.
If the air flow has been improved I am all-in as it was the only flaw with the original unit. Can't wait for some FC regulars to get their grubby mits on one and give us a totally unbiased and accurate review.

You could see the incredible clouds in Sneaky Pete's video! They looked effortless and great! You're still sucking through the 4 little laser cut holes, so grind consistency is key, but i'm pretty sure we will be content with the new airflow. I don't think Planetvape High efficiency stems will be needed on this one, including a gong for water. Nice dense thick vapour awaits!

The money exchange for American dollars may make this unit less expensive if buying in the U.S. Not sure what the conversion rate is right now between Canada and the U.S?

I will definitely be buying one of these. I want to see if there are any glitches with the mechanics of this new Solo II. I would like to buy this thing for closer to $225. I would doubt that it would get as cheap as the AA. The higher price doesn't scare me off though. I did see they are up on the Arizer website as well.

JUST ORDERED MINE! I haven't tried the original Solo, but I've read quite a bit and have been waiting for the Solo II to be released. I'm sure I'll see some awesome 4/20 sale as soon as it arrives, but I'm just too psyched to wait.

FUCK CANCER TOO !
Yeah...I'd guess the eventual price will be $199.

Maybe even see that price by 4/20.

Still, a conduction vape with non-swappable battery at anything over $160 and I'm out.

To each his own, of course.

.

However, if Arizer applies a 20% discount to their initial price of $250, in observance of 4/20, and then PIU adds another 15% FC member discount, I think we could be talking GAME ON @ $170.00 USD!

What say you my friendly fellow vapists?

It's beautiful, and so hard to decide what color to get!

I would maybe just get blue and I could always sell it and get black if wanted later.

i'm pretty certain arizer is set to launch it before 4/20, but could be wrong.

I think it will be around $249 or higher

Well done @biohacker it has to be said. This was a month ago!
Hope you enjoy the unit when it becomes more widely available soon

Enjoy being one of the first! I was of that mindset last night but didn't have the funds available to match.
If I was even a penny under I would have ordered!
Did you have any trouble deciding on a color?

It's nice they include everything, I might get a 70mm all glass stem too but not really needed and it might be too hot for me.
Might be nice if Arizer included a black or other interesting stem, Hello!

US$249.99 for me too, but with US$45 shipping = US$294.99
And I might get loaded with customs tax

If it was $225 and free shipping it would be on the way to me now.

It just means some of us are better off waiting either till Arizer has a sale or for the Solo 2 to make it to retailers in about a month.

You think it will take that long to get to retailers? I was expecting a few days to a week max! 4/20?

If it will make you feel better I will save you some cash and ship it for you. Just PM for my paypal info ;)

I'd actually prefer a carb on the stem to having a loose stem or using a PVHES that has the potential to stretch the opening and cause loose stems.

Planetvape (an FC sponsor) has gongs (not PVHES, so cheaper) for the Solo with a carbhttp://www.planetvape.ca/solo-ground-glass-on-glass-adapter.html.

For those of us outside North America there are re-shippers that will give you an address in the USA (Free shipping) and then they charge you to receive and ship.

Should be less than 1/2 the $45 quoted.
