Getting my VC cherry popped and I'm super stoked! Just ordered a XLS Ti cocobolo double crown and a DS for it. Couldn't resist. These things are flying off the shelves! There's just something about portable electronic and 18650 vapes that I don't trust (don't get me wrong, there are many great ones and I own some) but it's not a direction I want to get too far into. Butane, ironically, is the future (;

Just last night I was rocking to some music in my headphones and realized, wait...I can't use the vapcap if I'm blasting music! Or can I? Turns out I can! I've done it enough, I don't really have to even count. I use the triple torch and move it quickly to the end of the Cap and down to the poker of the Cap while I rotate the vapcap over the flame. It takes longer than if I just rotated it, but man I get some real deep extractions in two heat ups, three max. And the first cycle has decent vapor.

This still catches me out on occasion. The great thing is, if I do combust, its often noticeable before I even take a draw as theres just a little too much escaping whisps when I drop the stem into the D020 connection. The great thing is, no inhale and load doesnt fully combust if left for a moment.

Great device!

I have to admit I've been a little naughty with the clicks lately..

So, there's the heat up click, and a cooldown click which resets the mechanism. I'm pretty familiar with my setup, and know that after the cooldown click, re-heating takes about 3~4 seconds with my specific torch. I often don't bother waiting that extra few seconds for the cooldown click, and give it a little 3 second heat up (the lower end of my re-heat time). I've seen this mentioned here before, and it makes sense. I haven't combusted yet doing this but I'll add that I'm using the new rounded groove style tip I DIYed out of an older tip. I find the tip a bit more forgiving which is why I have the confidence to do this. This enables me to pace my puffs the way I like, but it's playing with fire, so extra precaution is needed.

The new style tip is my current go-to. It's definitely more refined. I have to give it an extra cycle or two over the non-rounder groove tip since there's definitely less conduction. I'm also loving the bit of color I gave it which is easy for anyone here to do. Just remove the o-rings from the tip, stand it up on some brick, and torch the fins with your jet lighter. A few seconds with a multi-jet, and you'll get some blue. LET IT COOL DOWN BEFORE TOUCHING IT. Also, don't let your lighter over-heat. Do a little section, let it cool down, then do another part.

@phattpiggie those longer stems of yours look great! :) Not sure if this is relevant with wood stems, but my 20cm Ti stem resonates the click. I can feel and hear it better. The length lets the vapor cool down a bit too. Loving this long stem :D

The cocobolo stash has three small magnets that's something I've not seen before was that a special request ????:tup:One very beutifull family you have there

@*plainlazy*
You have a beautiful family!

I like those double garages. You never know when you will need another Vapcap. Or do you load two for on the go?
Hey thanks. It's all thanks to the guys at dynavap. I just paid haha. But they are all great in own way.

The cocobolo stash started off life as g1 one magnet stash. But a friend of mine drilled out the herb stash garage into a deeper og holding garage. Then he drilled the face and stuck 3 little magnets on it for me. Something a bit different.

Ok I have the g2 stashs for dosing. Weekday dosing is one cap three cycles every hour or so. Weekend nights I usually dose two caps one after the other. Handy preloading for a cheeky cap at the pub too.
I usually pick a stash and take the two with me. I havent capped all four after each other yet lol.
I just put buds in.
I'm going to go to town on the custom of my omni and also its own stash. Got a few ideas. But will have to wait for next sale. 420?
Will my 14mm vong stem work with an Omni to make it a Omni vong? Does anyone know?

All my stuff is old logo and I haven't got a new style tip yet. New logo is for the Omni. Matt even dug out an old tip with a ceramic gauze in it for me for my latest order. Did me a good price on it. With a tiny nug in there I get under clouds and free flowing.
I can't wait to see what new tip is about.

Anyway
Happy capping you lot

Many thanks for the kind words and likes folks, this sure as shit beats going to my normal day job.

@rz yes I have to agree the longer stems seem to amplify the clicks and as you've found you can feel them a lot more.

I would imagine yours is louder, a click cannon, as my stems have a 5mm condenser in or in the case of the Grand Padauk a 3mm hole. I take it yours is just 8mm all the way from the hot end to the MP.

How are you finding performance up against the standard VC stems?
@Ruta and myself have found a difference and I had wondered if you had?

Anyone who's place an order there will be a slight delay in the proceedings so please hang in there.

And to the folk who've asked about getting on the list for the next round of orders many thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hey guys! Been trying to catch up on this thread but 400 pages sure is a lot.

Quick question if I may, does Vapcap ever go on sale? Or discount codes I would love to add one to my roster but living in Canada makes the price jump quite a bit. Especially because I reallllllly want one of those sweet ass stash boxes as well.

Also can anyone recommend me what type to try first as best bang for buck? If it's a big hit the Mrs will let me buy another and at that point I can go for the Cadillac of the bunch!

Cheers guys thanks for any and all help

I would definately get a TI tipped vapcap. The TI glassy is the least expensive version with a TI tip, and if it breaks, you only have to replace the body. I have no experience with the OG, but since it's completely glass, if it breaks you have to replace the whole thing.

IMO is a woody or even vong a good option. They work the same in reality so...
The wood makes that you have your mind at ease, nothing can -easily- break. And still pretty cheap!

Glad to hear it is all working out for you. Honestly, not surprised at all. Matt is AMAZING! And, have only seen few companies in my life that that are so anxious to work things out for you. NO other vape companies, FWIW.
Must agree! I ordered without the cap engraving, then asked in email if the engraving would slow down the shipping of my order; Matt assured me my order would ship next week & the engraving would not slow it down; he sent me a PayPal invoice for the engraving, I sent the image, I paid the $15, all set.

Question from a VC newb - If you want to get max extraction / max number of hits out of your load without risking burning, does anyone ever stop heating it before the click on their last cycle if they think it's necessary to do so? I.e. when your load is lightly toasted and you want to go in for one more hit but you think 1 more complete cycle might burn it??

IME this would only be a problem created by the resonant heat. I think the problem is that there is so much heat left in the Ti tip that that last heat to click gets internal temp a bit high. What I do to squeeze this last bit out is let it cool a little (2 minutes) then hit it until the click. All extracted - no combustion at all.

I personally say go for a woodey add some screens and x rings every almost everyone
Wants to order more goodies as soon as they see use there first cap
So yes a woody is where I would recomended everybody to start well worth the extra bucks and most capers will tell you you'll end up getting on later anyway
Then you will want a omni and then you will want to customise your caps
So in the long run it's cheaper to start off mid range
That's my:2c:

My solution is to let it cool down for a minute or two then hit it again. I avoid heat soaking the tip to the point that it will burn by doing this.

I heat progressively higher up the cap with each cycle. I start by heating the bottom half of the cap to create an initial hot chamber. The next cycle heats for a shorter period of time with heat applied around the middle portion of the cap and the last cycle is just a short heat burst with the flame near the top. I never combust and my nug is spent.

On another topic, someone awhile back, can't remember who, asked about cleaning frequency when using two new CCDs sandwiching a filter. I cleaned my Vapcap today. I was motivated to clean it because the flavor had suddenly degraded and the air restriction became noticeably more restricted. The CCD/filter sandwich had been in there since mid Dec. The degummed hemp fiber filter was dark brown and brittle and flaky.

I didn't clean my condenser other than wiping the tip end as it had a solid glob of resin hanging right off the end of it. The rest of the tube was shiny clean, no resin or particles sticking to the sides.

The tip and screens were popped into the doobtube for a few minute soak then a swab out with a Q-tip. Rinse, dry, reassemble.

Now, we are all cleaned up and I just had a load and, WOW! What a wonderful flavorful vape!
