Id not worry yet @Choughed post can be random and unperdictable. So strange you being in the heat as we have lovely fresh cool British winter, not too cold though.

I cleaned my Omni anyway with a short iso soak. Although my new tip didnt arrive yet, I did have a brand new cap George sent me to replace the very tight fitting one that came with it.
And he also sent me some ccd screens.
Its the first time I could try these since my 30 day break. I didnt think I needed the Jesus clip anymore, so I dumbly flushed it away with the iso. I sort of disregarded it thinking I will never use the ceramic screen again.

The cap is the opposite extreme! It was so loose, just falling off. I pressed it in a bit and got it to hold just. The ccd went in no problem. The airflow of the whole device is massively improved. My previous cap was super tight. This loose cap, plus the ccd, makes for a much easier draw.

But Im sure there is still an unpleasant aftertaste left from the combustioj incident 30 days ago. I only soaked for 2 hours in iso, then rinsed and iso cotton budded the tip and condenser.
So maybe it will need a longer soak.
More testing to be done before sweet potato dinner. Its been a hectic day, readying for Christmas, recovering from 30 days of hell and keeping on top of symptoms. Im so glad to have got to this day though all of a sudden.:)

Edit: I just tried to put my Omnivap into the top of the quad torch, which was by my side along with the storage tube!

Funny, now I look at all kinds of things and think, could I use this for the 'caps?
Oh dear that sounds very familiar.
"sky's the limit"
As does this....

The bug bit me in February since then my mind has been doing VC overtime, full on, non stop.
The VC is so close to the whole joint thing, which in turn is so close to the whole tobacco thing. That it's lead me to look into the re-purposing of antique smoking accessories. It seems a shame not to bring these beautiful objects out into the open and breathe new life, or vapor, into them.
Cigar cases caught my eye, they look big enough for a tube for storage of greenery and maybe a slim torch. Leather in particular, 1880 ish,

Or how about this one from Holland, I loved the look of this from the outside, but look at the inside

Not much room for a torch but I could live with that

Oh Man! I've been eyeing cigar cases for a while now! At first I thought about Milaana stems but now I'm thinking VC and nothing but.
I love my Dynastash but keep thinking of a way to carry the torch all in.

:peace:

P.s

I think I will have to try some of your wares once the seasonal cash shortage passes, great to see UK vape craftsmanship.

@VapCap @Squiby @phattpiggie and others who tried to help me with my Ti Wood's excessive draw resistance.

EUREKA! :rockon::tup::nod::love::clap:

Received the new in-house made Ti tip and cap and they work wonderfully!! Fixed the issue exactly and now my Ti Woody draws much like my beloved OGs!! YEAH THANKS GEORGE AND MATT!!

Now, I did find that this tip/cap heat up REALLY fast and on my first heat cycle I got just a little bit of combustion. Was weird, in the 2-3 times I have combusted previously (all due to operator error, I may add) the load just went up. This time, it was only the slightest layer at the cap end of the chamber.

In any case, pulling my lighter a bit further and slowing down the heat cycle just a little bit and all is well.

I have sort of found...that is, its my feeling that this has happened but I can't document or prove it...but I kind of think that VapCaps kind of break in. That is, I just seem to get a bit better performance after I have used a cap....and now perhaps cap and tip....for a while. Same with lighters...when I first get them, they are very hot and its easy to overheat but they also seem to settle down a bit. Probably all in my imagination.

Well boys and girls, I spent the day goose hunting on Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore by the Wye River and now my time of useful consciousness is at a end. Sweet dreams, my FC friends and thank you again for all of your help in trying to get my Ti Woody working well and we have met with success! :D

I know many of you guys live in places where herb is legal and abundant and it's amazing that this is happening in our times but I am not so lucky yet...:( Especially here in Greece not only is it illegal and penalties are huge but also due to the ever growing economic crisis even buying from the street in really good prices has become increasingly difficult. Not to mention it is usually of mediocre quality... I have been unemployed for 5 years now, and after I was busted for growing a couple of trees for my consumption 2 years ago, there are times when I am forced in long term T-breaks cause I just can't get any...
Vapcap has been amazing for me in those times when herb was a luxury... I get to clean all my accessories and vapes from the condensed resin and herb pieces with a cotton swab, stick the cotton into the Vapcap and have a few more good hours of bliss as a bonus! This tiny amount of resin accumulated inside the Air stem from a few grams of herb that passed through my Project these last days will give me two nice sessions and I bet my grinder will contribute with another 2-3! :brow:

jHaCpwZ.jpg

And to raise some questions about how much conduction heating is happening inside our precious VC's...

xjVLL1U.jpg

This is the little cotton from the q-tip I used to collect the warm resin from my Project's stem and had a heating cycle with it in the VC. As you can see it doesn't touch the walls of the bowl at all! All heating is happening from the little convection and the radiation from the hot walls! At least this is how I understand it. So in theory when the herb load is loose and fluffy in the bowl not much conduction is happening cause not much surface of the load is in contact with the walls. This might also explain the better taste I think I am having from looser bowls compared to packed ones. :\ And I think bigger clouds too...
So what you think? I miss @OF and our conduction/convection/radiation talks... Wanna join buddy? ;)

@joerghustle I think the consensus was that these kind of lighters wouldn't work.

@Baron23 what an excellent piece of news, really pleased it's all been sorted.
As you've already found, and I'm finding with my new torch, just got to adjust your technique a bit.
I can see where your coming from on the 'breaking in' thing. Can't quite explain why but there is a difference, perhaps it's the familiarity of it? No idea.

@Shannock just get in touch when you're ready.

Hi guys.
Just got my first vapcap yesterday, the basic glass one. Now I'm having a bit of trouble.
The cap itself gives of a distinct (I would say metallic) smell and taste when I heat it. This makes the vapor taste horrible compared to all my other vapes. I've iso cleaned the cap multiple times and heated it it about 50 times. No change in smell, seems to be the material itself.
Is this normal or did I get a faulty cap?
Thanks

I'm afraid I haven't heard of that problem before but I've found that the cheap jet torches with a red flame in petrol stations etc give off a weird metallic smell when using them to heat my cap.

Try with a few different lighters to see if anything changes, if you're still having problems get in contact with Dynvap at info@dynavap.com and they'll sort something out for you

@jimfish4130 Thanks for taking the time to answer.
I'm afraid that's not the problem, using high quality purified butane and a decent torch (blue flame). Also tried my gas stove to heat it and it gives of the same smell.
So normally the heated cap gives of no smell/taste? Then there is definitely something wrong with mine.

@phattpiggie , those are some beautiful cases. The one from Holland is so interesting and unique. I bet you could get a slim single jet in there, like this one.
I think it's smaller than a cigar.

The @Ratchett Vapcap pouch above can do it.
Or...
How about a tobacco pouch?

@vapcaper

I have never experienced bad taste or a metallic taste with the Vapcap. Something is not right.

I would say that I did notice a slight metallic smell and taste when my caps were new. But only if I heated the cap and drew with nothing in the chamber. It went away pretty fast though after the cap was "seasoned" so to speak.

I opened a Christmas present early, a TAG bubbler. I have never tried a VapCap through water, other vapes but not the vc.
I'm here to tell you, "it's the only way to fly."
The girl friend has never liked the vc. She does now.
You have to try it with water. I love it. Doc

Any tips for the vertigo triple torch lighter?

I refilled it and can barely get it to light now.

It's the same fuel I use in my bernzomatic so I know it's not that.

Also, if anyone has any leads to alternative lighters I'm all ears. Anyone know of a quiet torch lighter? I'll probably end up using candles at night.

Someone should build a 510 heater (I know there's a thread here).. a 3d printed ceramic piece... With a coil wrapped around it.......

I was using my VC and thinking of all sorts of ideas...
Just thoughts but I was thinking about the tip design and instead of the spiral cuts continuing into the dissipation fins I think It could look more refined with maybe four straight cuts instead?

Another thing I was thinking was if instead of a spinning mouth piece there was spinning tip... You could hold the stem and just spin the tip with you thumb over the flame. I had this idea because I always have to look for the carb after I heat.

A heating dock could be cool...

Going off now......

Have you burped your lighter? Hold it upside down and push where you refill to let some air out, stop when it starts letting out butane

OUCH!!!

Align your digger outter with your carb. It adds a visual reference. Or if you like the carb closed, position the carb xring under the carb hole. It will block any air intake.

..Or if you like the carb closed, position the carb xring under the carb hole..

This can also be done to a certain degree to get an omni-effect.

I push the condenser o-ring a bit far out, so it would just past the carb. Then, while inserting the condenser, I stop the o-ring from completely going past the carb hole with a small 22awg solid core wire I usually have around, or anything small that comes to hand (toothpick even). play around with it a little and it's good to go :)
