I've been worried about throwing mine in a bag or the console, but until I read that, hasn't stopped.

There has to be a simple solution. We have an incredible resource with all of these great minds. The Mi stands out partially because of it's simplicity, let's find a similar answer to this problem.

Even a rubber band attached to a cap over the button would probably be enough.

Game on people!

Pretty sure the old guitar pick solution way back in the early pages is exactly what you are looking for.

Basically you use the guitar pick as an insulator under the copper cap; drill out the corner (where you pick) to butt against the threaded stud and Bob's yer uncle.

I've looked at that, and even thought it thru, and dug out the pick that came with my G8ter. I think I'd make it a slot so I could slide it back out of the way, just never pulled the trigger.

I'm still thinking a simple band/cap that wouldn't even have to be removed is a better solution....I need to stop thinking and start vaping :ko:

Really if the bottom cap was removable with magnets and there was a hard on/off switch down there it would be ideal. That's how a lot of box mods handle safety and it's simple and elegant imo. This would of course increase cost in both materials and labor.

@DDave I purchased the mod set with the cooling wand, have been using it for about a week now and I love it! The ability to microdose with the 14mm stem is so nice, really turns Mi into a conservation beast. The cooling wand works as advertised, and although it's a fairly ridiculous set up, it's become the only way i use the Milaana at home. I don't take the cooling wand with me though, it's just for home.

I was wondering if I could order a few more of just the 14mm mouth pieces. Only one of mine will hold the basket screens--the other is slightly too wide and the screen just falls out--and i am very prone to clumsy mistakes. I'd love to have a backup or two, so if there's any way I could order a couple of those separately, please let me know!
You can pinch the base of the screens and pull it out a tiny bit. It sorta squares out your screen but if you don't mind, it's something I do often with all my rimmed screens. Just a thought. :)

OMG fuck me!!!?!

I think I trashed my Mi :(((((

Put it in center console and the button was pressed for like 5 min maybe. Shit was so hot. Both sides are slightly burnt. Bet the inside is smolder roasted done. Bottom glue is coming undone. Ugh

Gonna examine closer. I just got off the road. So bummed
Gah!
Impossible to 'like' a post like this, but I really feel for you though

Like you say, perfect excuse to upgrade.
If you can afford it, I say just go for it.
I can't imagine that badly burned wood will ever taste right :rip::shrug:

Guitar pick mod or something similar sounds like the way forward for those who store their Mi in a 'risky' manner (or battery removal).

Sorry dude.

Remove the battery? Wouldn't take any more time to put the battery in than do anything else I assume.
The manual currently states to remove the battery when not in use... Same should be said of the mouthpiece as if it is in when it falls it increases the likelihood of it breaking if you drop it. It's kinda like a cover for your cell phone.

It's in the plans to experiment with adding in a thermally resetting fuse between the battery and the switch. However, this will not happen until Zion on back on track so it will not be worked on until early next year.... Until then please remove the battery if there is a chance that the button could be accidentally pressed when unattended... That's why the mouthpiece and battery both fit in the plastic travel case :)

For those that are interested in seeing the Premium, Select, Exotic and Signature Milaana and new low volume pricing structure the www store is in draft state. @RBTCustomerService will be revamping the www over the coming weeks to better align with the new Artisan marketing approach. We are currently working on ideas to do a "Community Fund" (not a big fan of crowds) here on FC as well as the RBT Ambassador Program to say thanks to the fine folks here at FC. As always, we are open to ideas so give us your candid feedback.

The marketing plan is coming together! Our shift into the premium markets pace will really elevate RBT to where it should be.

Keep an eye out on the website as we are making a lot of fun new changes soon. Just consolidated out Contact Us page to better help you find the support you need -- all from one webpage. Our web host is down from time to time who were looking into other options too (always all ears if anyone has thoughts).

Get ready for some fun stuff ahead that will get you involved in the RBT Revolution!

Hapoy Halloween! My EVO hasn't been getting much action lately because my Malaana is my hard hitter for night time sleep and pain. I have been having fun tuning this unit in to fit my needs.

I fill up the oven with a tight pack and when my 10min session is over the ABV has been fully extracted. The load has shrunk down to just a little bit of ABV left. I do stir half way through my session. Pretty amazing really. This unit helps to give my cannbais wonderful flavor- if I'm using a flavorful strain such as a GrapeApe, Green Crack or a Platinum GSC. Luckily I live in a legal state and been trying out several strains with this unit.

Those specialized wood units are beautiful. I will have to be thinking about which kind to buy. The above pic it's beautiful @invertedisdead. I think that one is my favorite.

Happy Halloween in a few days. I broke the lid off my jack o lantern but it still works.

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Looks great @RastaBuddhaTao & @RBTCustomerService !

Didn't realize we were getting Aspen and Butternut too, have never even heard of those before, Aspen looks like a greyer Walnut (hard to decide which I like more) and Butternut like a lighter shade of Cherry (again both are so gorgeous) Winner probably still has to go to the spalted maple exotics though, swirls of color and crazy grain patterns are hard to pass up... Select grain would be cool too... Impossible to choose, must have one of each I guess

Idk. I only had 3 or 4 bowls since. First hit or two had semi regular flavor. Later hits tasted like camp fire. But it seemed to get less by bowl. Maybe I was just getting used to it though.

If this happened later I'd def use it as an excuse to get spalted or something. But I already ordered a replacement

So now I have a backup or maybe a dedicated water Mi. Or I might sell it at a discount to someone who wants to mod it. IDK

I had a weird dream last night that I got a milaana. Weird. I don't usually dream about vaporizers. Weirder yet because I've followed this thread a little and never thought the milaana was for me. The two deterrents have been 1 the learning curve with all the recommended techniques required to vape without combusting and 2 its heavy-hitter nature. I'm neither a tinker nor heavy weight. But heck, I only have two vapes.

Works great as a sipper as well. And if you use it that way instead of cloud chasing it's pretty easy to not combust.

One of the main reasons I liked it over the conduction portable I had is that you could take a puff or two and put it down and then puff it a half hr later. Pretty much never loses flavor and tastes like "burnt popcorn".

I'm not (deliberately) being a smartarse, but I found the learning curve very shallow, and am still a little mystified by the early difficulty some have had to overcome.
My very first rip was great, and I have still only combusted once when using the Mi native.
You might find it easy too?
I've combusted about 3-4 times through water, but really prefer the flavour without water, so rarely use my bubblers now.
I originally bought it for bubbler use, and didn't imagine that I'd be using it much without glass.
I've lightly scorched the centre of the load quite a few times when I've been drawing hard, but this is easily controlled/predicted, so I rarely go beyond the point where a quick stir restores flavour for subsequent draws.
The flavour was a bit of a surprise to me when I first got my Milaana, and is now of great importance .

The Milaanas status as a heavy hitter is definitely deserved, but it works fine for micro dosing and low temp's too.
I have a very low tolerance, so medium or small doses is mostly how I use it, and it works really well this way.
Really tiny 'nano' doses work ok too, but for that size of load I usually prefer the tighter draw of my VapCap (the perfect companion vape for the Milaana IMO).
The Mi has a very open 'breath-y' draw with little to no restriction, and if you are looking for a tight draw, be prepared to load plenty of material, and tamp it down some too.
This is not how I use it much, as it tends to leave me comatose due to my low T, and avoiding the brown spot in the middle of your load is a little trickier (maybe 'less easy' would be more accurate than trickier here).
I also prefer small loads to make the most of the flavour of my material.

TL,DR?
Don't let either of these concerns you describe put you off.
IMO neither is likely to be a problem for you :myday:

Walnut and cherry are in my near future....

My wood shop is up and running, and just in time. I'm in the process of designing a "vape box" where you can store Mi and all her little friends in a discreet 6 x 8 inch box.

Convenience, discretion, safety in a cool storage unit.
First Draft... Open to ideas.

329 for a spalted maple Mi.

Does it tickle my pickle?

Y'know there are other manufacturers that sell wooden vapes that give you a damn selection of species at no extra cost.

This is becoming the Apple of vapes, unoriginal ideas, charged at twice the price!

FUCK CONSUMERS AMIRIGHT?

So. Wtf. The burn taste is gone but now I'm detecting pumpkin spice wax from the end of comb of my GF I used to try to stir z bowl.

I cleaned the glass stem so it's not that. Better than camp fire I guess. But wtf. Caught a whiff of its original sig on the 4th or 5th hit if a bowl. So might not be so bad after all, but damn. I got too complacent about the power. I was concerned early on but fell off.

Stay vigilant Mi owners. I need to be real thankful I drained the bat as much as I did beforehand. It was at 0 when I put it in the charger.

BTW. I tossed water on the outside of it when the situation happened. Wasn't going to toss it form the hole but if was so hot I knew I needed to cool it somehow. Of else I couldn't leave it in the car ax j wing into the store (It was blazing hot). But it sounds like other units had had it worse ad the glass isn't in too bad if shape.

Based of the info, y'all think $75 is a fair asking price?

I'm pretty fucked up ftom a Halloween party, but I was considering keeping ol burnty an flipping my fresh unit on the way. I thin any burn flavor may fade with time. But it looks like the space between the glass and screen is scorched
