In my defense, it was a gradual accumulation. I have 4 Milaanas, use all of them. They all came with a couple (8). Next, I bought about another 10, trying lg, Samsung, h2. Then I went thru a brief CBD ecig mod stage. Those batts work in Mi, had a few. Then I found out about the Sony batts (my favorite) and I grabbed 4. I paid an avg of $10 a batt.

Now it's time to get rid of any worn, sagging batts. The AccuPower is a charger and tester. I know I'm checking for capacity (mAh). Kerozen explained it is not that simple, that a battery could still reach max capacity but drain fast (elastic).

The instruction manual that came with this is in badly interpreted German, and micro small font (WTF). I need to learn this bad boy....

No the capacity should also go down and you could measure that already, I surely didn't express myself very clearly. Ideally you would want to measure their IR but this is a very small resistance value (we're talking milli-ohms here) and most basic multimeters have troubles measuring anything below one ohm.

There are some tricks to measure it (1) but the simplest way (although pricier) would be to buy a smart charger for RC hobby (2). Some have built-in IR measurement capability, not uber precise but good enough for our purposes. The exact value doesn't really matter, what we're interested in is to watch how this value rises over time and compare it to what it was when the cell was new.

So, I'm starting to hone my technique for this vape. Seems my unit is definitely on the cooler side, from what I've read on here. I'm doing a 10 second preheat now and finding that it produces hits that are more in line with my expectations. At a five second preheat, as most seem to favor, I end up drawing a lot of vapor less air and I'm about halfway into the hit before I'm really getting the goods. With the longer heat up that isn't an issue and I find myself needing to let off the button more often. Still not exactly feathering it regularly like some describe, but not just keeping it held while I exhale anymore.

The changes in technique seems to be helping with battery life, which is nice. Up to at least 4 stems per charge now, with more if I'm doing micro loads through water. Speaking of which, using the Mi through water is what really won me over, and it helped me fix my dry technique, which was unexpected. I pushed the screen so that the edges of it are flush with the joint end, basket style. Suck up enough to at least cover the screen, preheat for 10, and then take a delicious and dense convection cloud to the face. So far this is my favorite way to use it. I get about 3 hits per load, but they do the trick and I rarely have to reload for just myself.

Through water the Mi reminds me of a simpler, battery powered Lotus, and that's definitely a compliment. Dry it also works well, and the resinous initial hits are hard to beat, but I do find myself grabbing other vapes for the purpose most of the time. Really pleased with it through water, though, and I almost feel like it would work less well for that purpose if it was much hotter. So maybe I lucked out in that regard.

Looking forward to the Zion train leaving the station again. I think it will be my dry hitting RBT unit, while Mi stays paired up with my favorite bubbler.

You should contact RBT about that cold unit, maybe a round-trip to the mothership could fix her up? Of course only if you can withstand being separated for a while... I know I wouldn't! :brow:

This is actually after one trip to the homeland after it took a spill and shattered its heater glass. Like I said, though, it may actually be better suited to glass as it is.

Milaana battery geeks, I need help.
First, somehow, I've accumulated 27 batteries, all in an even rotation. I must use 2 or 3 a day.

I have 2 nitecore chargers, one i2 and one d4. I just bought a new charger /tester. Haven't really looked at yet. I want to get rid of any worn batts. Exactly what am I testing for?

I know this is an amateur question, but this is complicated stuff.

I have experienced a hot copper top, suspected contact issue (had to adjust washers, pull contacts out on one Mi, lost track of which one, I'll monitor). It only seems to happen when Mi is red hot and cranking out an impossibley long session.
Man, I love math!

Problem #1
(4 Mil's) / 27 batteries / 2 or 3 per day + 2 nitecore chargers (i2 * d4) ^ 1 new test charger / 1 hot copper top / ~contact(variable) +/- contacts * 1 Mil =
Party at Bravesst house!!!!! Bring your own stash!!!!

Problem #2
Red Hot + Impossibly Long Session = (We still talking vaping here? :brow:)

I've found positive-down to be the easier way as well. It's a tiny difference for sure, but it's easier to place and tighten the copper plate correctly when its dimple is sliding across a flat surface instead of trying to line it up with the bump on the positive side.
+1 for positive facing down

After a bit of elbow grease with sand paper and wire brushes I got a much better finish on the top by the glass.

I am having that session now. It is biblical (think loaves and fishes) how many thick, fat, milky blasts I can get when it all comes together. Havent even rotated or stirred yet. All while lying back, using one hand, tapping a button. I Musta hit this thing 20 or 25 times in 15 minutes. So simple, so powerful, so enjoyable, so invisible. Nap before work!!!

Hey folks, still loving my Millana, but my glass has come loose
Does anyone know what the favored glue is ATM?
And whether gluing it myself will invalidate warranty? (@RastaBuddhaTao ?)
I know there were several mentions of at least two brands of glue, but I'm keen to use whichever one is officially sanctioned (or return my unit if that's the only way to preserve my warranty).

In other news, despite the fact that my recently received Grasshopper works as it should, without the often reported problems, it is still the vape that I'd give up before my Milaana and my VapCaps (this may yet happen, haven't decided yet), as it's just not as nice to use, and vapor production, whilst very robust, is harsher than both Mi and VC, and not as tasty as either (tastiest of the 3 is Milaana, closely followed by VC, with GH in a distant third).
It's not that the GH tastes bad as such, just that it neuters the flavour leaving you wondering where the taste went (3 strains so far, same results with all 3).

Even my old INH05 offers stronger taste than the GH!

Anyway, back to my original questions, what brand of glue is RBT currently endorsing?

I asked Ryan these questions too (horses mouth and all that), but no reply as yet (early days, but I'm keen to resume Milaana use) .

Want a case that fit's the Milaana and nothing else?

https://www.amazon.com/co2CREA-Carr...615+HD+Pro+Webcam+Web+Camera+1080p+Widescreen

If it'd just been a little bigger as per specs I could fit two battery cases in there and be perfectly contained, but I'm satisfied it holds Pascal securely w/ room for @DDave 's 14mm adapter, so this plus two battery cases is all I need for a days travel. One battery case for 2 batteries, the other a stem and this waterproof container for ground herb (just a bit smaller than an 18650):

So I took my milaana to work and I only had one battery left from trading my 1st milaana to @Bravesst so I plugged my d2 in at work with my 1 battery and got busy worked all day and headed home and left my battery and charger at work so I stopped at my vape shop and they have the Samsung 25r but they are green now I guess? I asked about the Sony and the guy said they were about to get some from warehouse in Philippines...so who knows what the hell so I grabbed 2 greenies but needless to say I'm so empty brained that I still don't have a charger at home with me..no milaana til morning..

I'm getting better at using it through water. The trick for me is to just settle for whatever vapor I get at first and not to try to totally milk the glass after I see some vapour production. Makes for a less gratifying pull than other vapes I've got, but I'm way too sick of cleaning up after combustion.

After 25 days or so I got my Milaana back from service! Well, not My Milaana , mine was one of the 1% with the degraded heater that couldn't be repaired so I got a nice new recessed unit! The copper top is matte finished as well plus the updated screen material. Looks and works awesome! I think I may stain mine too!

Damn @mrbonsai420 that glass is sexy..I'm so close to pulling trigger on one but have seen few issues but I just got a newer model milaana and the wood is so much smoother and it feel like an easier draw which could be the new screen also. I am charging my batts as we speak to get into it.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
Also when I heave a freshly charged battery the milaana makes a slight crackling sound when heating up sometimes?

@WakeAndVape: I heard that crackling sound sometimes, unsure what it really is... The urban legend around here seems to tell it's the bud moisture being flash vaporized, but maybe it's something else, like micro-sparks on the trigger contacts?

This is what Ryan wrote me a while back (I got the permission to post the correspondence):

"Crackling is normal under faster temperature changes like with a hot battery or after a long preheat. It is the heater expanding and contacting against the mica. Kinda sounds like a cat scratching to get out :)"

Have a nice day, fellow Mi lovers

Science, bitch!:science:

I tried a new technique yesterday and got a few too many massive clouds. I was playing on the computer and when it all kicked in I instantly felt way too heavy/wavy and right away closed my computer and laid down. It was way too intense, haha! All good though!

Speaking of techniques, my apologies for still not uploading the technique writeup I was putting together with the help of the few who inputed. There are just so many things I feel like I need to throw in there that it gets a bit overwhelming for me and I can't organize my head around it. Some day, I'll try to do it. If anything I'll just copy and paste what was sent to me so people have a (very detailed, mind you) explanation of techniques and prep for this vape. Some day though, sorry if some of you have been waiting! :/

I need to remember to take it easy tonight. This strain is way too powerful through the Milaana. I have two, but I got them mixed up. One is sunset sherbert and the other is goat. Citrus in the lower temps, and a more diesely flavor when you hit those medium high temps and really pull out that resin hit. Ugh. Too good.

Zen :peace:
Off to caption for 6 hours! Can't wait to come home to that goodness. Captioning is nice, a very "in the moment" job. Almost like a permanent meditative state. :peace:

A work in progress - my coffee colored Mi is percolating right now!

This weekend I'll be trying out two new Vapes (wife away ). Will I be unwittingly be comparing to Mi Precious? Probably yes, especially immediately in the taste dept.
