"Pauahi" is a gender-neutral Hawaiian name meaning "end of fire". Testing is underway, impressions to follow in due course.

Pak, thanks a lot for sharing these beautiful pics with us! Oh my goodness, what a fukin beauty... I'm literally drooling. What a perfect finish. I MUST have that, too. Knobs and just all the details look breathtaking ...soo smooth... Must get my eyes off it now. I'll get blind to everything less beautiful than this one!

(*zap* Uh,..hello? Shoot, I didn't mean it - actually I did - but dear Rasta Buddha Tao God can I please have my eyesight back... Just for some more weeks ..?)

Can't wait the see and hear about your impressions. Enjoy the trip! :)
Zion train is coming!!! Cho choooo! :D

Edit: @pakalolo You should definitely give these pics to RBT for putting them up on his site. These ones will shine!

Best colour yet IMO, that's gorgeous.

Even though I'm waiting for the 18mm-Single batt', I'm also coming round to the 'fully inclusive' appeal of the Zion, an expedition vape without peer!
I wouldn't quite say that I'm sick with envy Paka, but.........aw screw it, I AM sick with envy

Like the real contrarian that I am, when I get myself an RBT vape, I plan to take my inspiration for a name from Ray Bradbury and call it 451'F.
But even though I'm not entirely aboard with 'naming' objects, Pauahi is just perfect

Can't wait to hear your verdict on function, but in the meantime your pic's seem to spotlight some top notch fit and finish.

Gotta love the eye candy :mmmm:

Thanks for the compliments. I want to remind everyone that the colour varies depending on the lighting, and there's even more variation introduced by your monitor.

I didn't show the battery compartment yesterday, so here's a shot:

Notice the three little cutouts at the bottom to assist you in removing the cover and batteries. By the way, I made sure that you battery freaks could see the number, you can thank me later.

Here's Jessica and Pauahi together. You can easily see some of the differences, such as the recessed knob and button. Pauahi is just a slight bit taller.

In this photo it's obvious that Jessica was an early beta. The cuts were rough and there were imperfections, but I loved her anyway.

Awesome side by side @pakalolo this definitely highlights the finishing touches on the production units.

I was anxious at first but now I would be happy if it took another year of tweaking the final design bc this is truly a piece of art.

I hope @RastaBuddhaTao finds time to sleep in between his full time job and the product release of a high anticipated new vaporizer. Thanks for the dedicated work to provide a quality product nothing short of ur highest expectations. The updates have really been awesome to keep everyone on the same page as well as insight to the reality. I appreciate all the endless work.

Really like the recessed glass. I hope the UrS and the DPH come with the same attention to detail. IMO it looks neater and it's it out of harms way.

Recessing the glass bowl was the key to the neat storage compartment in the lid, which brings us to another difference: the surrounding wood is 1.5 mm thinner now, as you can see in this picture:

OtxpFcr.jpg

Moving the bowl slightly allowed for more clearance for water tools, but it also means less insulation around the heater. This is obvious when in use, as that part of Pauahi gets noticeably warmer than Jessica used to. It never gets hot enough to be a concern, however. I'm not sure if it would reach "too hot to touch" if you held the button down for a couple of minutes, but in normal use it never gets close.

Pakalolo what is the purpose of the off set whole on stem storage side of lid.
Oops or something?

Manufacturer
Good point on the wall thickness. Part of the issue is the first 50 units had to be sanded twice making the wall thickness thinner. Plus Pak's unit was sanded one last time prior to shipment to renew the finish for Pak's world class photography;) that said we can add more wall thickness in the future. It will get hit to the touch when running sessions at high temperature but in a way it's a good safety to let the user know that it's running hot. The manufacturing process is changing for the second run of parts to eliminate multiple sanding operations which will help.

The offset hole is required as the mouthpiece and stir stick clearance holes overlap. The added clearance for the stir stick will allow for large headed girding style stirs.

And that stirrer itself is fucking gorgeous, simple metal rod but that flat end is perfect. Versatile tool for a versatile vape!

By the way RBT, I think Ziggy (and the bent stem) might be in your PO box now according to the tracking, unsure how PO boxes work.

A little relaxation help for all of us as we await our turn to lovingly handle @RastaBuddhaTao's gorgeous wood.

That made my day, my friend. Thank you.

New modified technique for my Zion beta when using sifted but otherwise unprocessed dry ice hash. I place the screen into the stem basket style. Then I prepare a nearly weightless little fluffball of degummed hemp fiber that I received as a gift from another FC member. This creates an organic screen above the metal screen, increasing air flow though the metal screen by eliminating the tendency of this hash (really a very fine quality kief) to gum up the metal screen. The result is chocolate brown powdery remains that look much like cinnamon powder that I can blow right out of the stem with a puff of air.
