Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Voltage regulation and constant fan speed should help with getting nice even vaping without combustion. Can you hold the throttle on pretty aggressively? Something that can fit in your hand and blow bags up, without out all the variables and nightmares of the hammer!.

Also zion 3rd lung is a given! How exciting.

If you're flowing air, you could probably hold the throttle till the batts konk out. In fact, you can hold the throttle till the batts konk out without air flow, but it may char the wood as it takes quite awhile to drain them. RBT can quote you the specifics on the testing, but this was definitely one of them that was run, full battery depletion in one go.

Specific numbers really mean nothing to me as I just float about general ideas with little full understand of much! Haha. But what that sounds like to me is, a constant fan speed should allow allow for nice constant and even fan assist? I don't know about you guys, but I like being a human bag. Something awesome about it just being pumped down there like a little THC life support machine! Little palm sized life support device would be niffffty!

Yeah you wouldn't wanna hold it for longer than 30sec total really (that'll be what's recommended), but high on the dial that would mean a very quick heat up and quick massive cloud, so probably just as easy for a quick small bag why not?

Wouldn't a pump work better than a fan though? Zion has wide open airflow, but the intake hole is small, a fan through it wouldnt be enough I think... Wouldn't a pump coming from the stem end better simulate drawing? Though I dont know how the pump works honestly lol

Quick snappy milk bags! Yes yes yes!

Also pump* is what I meant by fan. Excuse my ignorance, like I said. I never like to know too much about one thing! Haha.

Thing which makes vapor go down my pipes without me inhaling.

The Zion has many variables that effect hit size, volume, temp, density, flavor, and duration including voltage set, speed and strength of draw, duration of draw, button control, ambient temp, strain, moisture content, grind, age, accoutrements, etc.

You have heard/read a lot of variety of opinions on performance method and results (btw, remarkably all positive) from just 10 beta testers and a few others including the developers. I think it is fair to say that Zion will be a little different for everyone.

In keeping with that I will say that the way I use Zion (most of the time) stirring is essential. As it is usually through glass and water I am probably pushing more air faster than when using the stem which makes hot spots more likely. The harder I hit it the more this is true. It isn't a problem, of course, due to...stirring. :)

For my own personal taste I like to stir even on a casual hit through the stem as the first hit tends to clump the goods and I like hitting them loose, tho that is more preference than need.

I guess my point is that this is a difficult vape to describe "the way it works" because there are so many ways, and alternatives to get where you are trying to go.

So, I won't say there is NO way to do it wrong, but I will say that the worst way to do it wrong would be to not do it. You really need one of these...

Yes on higher voltage through a bubbler, I tended to stir every hit, and with a stem loaded I would typically go 3-6 hits without stirring depending on pack, most often it was just stirring once in middle of a bowl and thats it.

I rarely stir in my VG Classic, I usually just accept charing as the trade off for the luxury of being lazy. I'm guessing the Zion would go better without stirring than the vg? I can happily not stir my solo and hammer.

Yeah if you're not stirring the Hammer you likely won't be stirring your Zion. It's as needed based on individual preference

Has anybody tried using a standard gg ssv/dbv wand in one of these?

silver_surfer_gg_wand.jpg

Doesn't fit, bottoms out on the heater cover screen. The tapered portion looks significantly longer than the Zion, I'm suspecting our ssv's are the iso type fitting.

Mod note: Edited to remove portion of post that breaks the commercial interest rules.

Well you have another first time FC poster here ...but have been a long, long time lurker through a many of threads. Wanted to bust my cherry here for the Zion! I mean really what's not to love, open communication with the manufacturer and the lead tech , crowd storming, them listen to the community & quickly adapting their design through community suggestions, all the hard work of the Beta team, and just the overall good vibes on this thread!!
I haven't even got to the actual vapes themselves yet .
Now onto the Zion line up. Simply game changer!!! Near instant convection, all the power of the desktop without having to be tethered to an outlet .The choice between the raw power of the TOD or the power and control of the original Zion and the stealth factor u get from the lil brother. Beautifully crafted wood here from America. Clean air path.Easily used with WT's.Great battery life, which I'm sure is going to be downfall of the fancy insectoid ,over technological thing of bob a few of us are waiting for in November. If they push my order back again I'm jumping of that hype train and will soothe my now raging VAS with the Zion trifecta! I'm sure I could finally have a mass thinning of the herd if I had all three of those beauties!
Oh hells yeah, just checked the calendar and there's five Fridays in October and I have my bills worked out for a four Friday work month ,they will be mine!, yes I will have them all!

Thanks, I was just wondering about using the wand in one of your vapes because I like the bowl size, and I usually prefer using flat screens better than the basket/elb types because of ease of maintenance. It's not a deal-breaker by any means, I'm just wondering what screen and bowl combos will work with this.

Hey grok, I used one of those LSV screens that I saved before sling mine in my 18mm male to male GonG, just like I did in the LSV. It worked, but like with the lsv it does mean more stirring and a potentially large airgap of glass tube that could act as a heat sink, which may just mean slower steady draw it higher voltage, or you pack a super huge bowl which would be intense... I agree flat screens are nice, but the Zion screens get the load closer to the heater in a narrower basket and they really do work very well I must say, coming from someone who actually hates having use any mesh screens in my other vapes... So do give em a shot first

IMO this screen system is much easier to maintain than the LSV wand screen. Concern about bowl size? You can move the screen around and basically pack as little or as big as you want. Very versatile.

Glad I got in relatively early, watching the progress of this thing is fun.
Did I just read it's getting smaller already? Anyone still on the fence should probably jump in before they run out of wood
I've bought & enjoyed several portables but after the novelty of owning them wears off they can feel a little slow & underpowered & I just won't use them at home.
The Zion sounds like it'll be simple powerful & tough yet versatile. It's the most promising tiny/big/little vaporizer I've seen for a while.
