Oooh...bonus ringer.Weekend beta testing has uncovered a buckling problem that can affect the knees when using the Zion while standing.
The issue is often accompanied by a little vertigo and muffled eardrums. The workaround, until we can find a fix, is to sit before using the Zion.

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If the Leidenfrost effect is your goal I would stick to at least 800 if not a little higher. This is what the VB2 does and combined with medical grade ceramic offers the most civilized dab I have ever had.Does it need temperature control? Furthermore does it even need regulation? Can it drift from 800 to 600 F?
@stickstones im very curious as to what you found that needs attention.
Disclaimer #1 -- I am now a retailer instead of a moderator. I currently have no financial interest in the Zion. Should they allow me to sell it in the future, I would do so if I thought it were a good vape. I will do my best to keep my posts to factual statements. Take that into consideration as I share with you my beta testing opinions.
Disclaimer #2 -- To the best of my recollection, in the last two hours I have had one bowl of Sour Diesel in the Zion, two or three shots of tequila and three or four shots of SoCo. I weigh 230 pounds. Do the math and take that into consideration as I share with you my beta testing opinions.
I have run five bowls through the Zion since Friday night and can say that it heats up quickly (on par with the mflb) and hits hard at the highest temps. In terms of portable cloud production, it is right up there with the MiniVap (a properly functioning MiniVap) as one of the top two I have used. Those are breakthrough achievements in the portable department. The taste is good...not MiniVap good, but good. You won't be disappointed in the taste.
So far I have found three things I thought deserving of feedback:
1 -- improving the temperature control. The knob goes from approximately 8 to 4. But most of the temp control is between 12 and 2. We need to smooth out the response so that you can feel temp adjustments across the entire spectrum of 8 to 4.
2 -- throat irritation. At the higher temps I was getting some irritation that I usually associate with a vape that doesn't have an adequate air path after the bowl. See the MiniVap thread for an example. Through my bubbler I get no irritation, but through the supplied mouthpiece it is a little on the harsh side. This is not an issue at the lower to mid temps, just the highest temps.
3 -- Adhesives. The beta unit has adhesives in the air path that don't appear to be a concern based on other manufacturing uses, and it's not the only vape on the market with high temp adhesives in the air path (Herbalizer). But I know you guys, and this forum prefers air paths without adhesives, so we discussed alternatives.
There you have it....my impressions after five bowls. Do I think you are going to want this one? Yes. Is it ready for prime time today? No. But that's why we beta test shit. My unit is a very rough cut, which stokes me. It tells me that I have one in time to give feedback that actually makes a difference.
I hope this helps and stays neutral in your eyes. Fire away any questions you have. I am out for the night and very busy over the next three days, but will answer all I can. Give me any test ideas you have...this one is fun to test (I've tested some duds before that were a chore) and I will be going at it for a few weeks at least.
