This was a very exciting weekend in terms of Zion development!
Though the new "lidded" design looked great on paper, pulling it off would require successfully implementing a new manufacturing trick that would allow for our near-zero waste, seamless one piece design to work.
We're happy to report great success with the new technique, beyond our expectations actually.
Here's a couple pictures of the first "test" piece, it looks too short to be a zion because it is, it was only cut big enough to prove out the various manufacturing steps.

striped fish "Shhh! man, be quiet! That's proprietary!"
Now I have to go and finish up a few drawings so we can make them for real.
