Hey Everybody,.. wow, lots to answer since I have been in here last.
Been a rough month over at the Bruce household and I am sorry for neglecting my presence in here as well as on the phones and email. Minor glitch in the overall system and it had to be done, sorry for anyone that has felt unattended to.

First question...
With all of the extra pieces and things that came with the cleaning swabs and stuff, what are the little peanut sized white/clear things with 3 ridges on them? Looks like the top of the tube the vapor comes out of but can't quite tell if it is or how I'd change them out. Only cleaned this vape once (in 3 months) but planning on doing so again tonight.
That piece is a replacement for the silicone tip on the Teflon nozzle. Pull the old one off and press the new one on. Not likely to need replacement very often.

So what is the status on the whip? And the software? I was dissapointed to find that neither of them were in the zephyr box. Very happy with the vape though.
The software will be a download, from my understanding this is less than a month out and we will send you an email to the link once the bugs are fixed.
THE WHIP,... egads, I have no idea,...I honestly can not give an answer on this other than there will be one produced and it will be a free retrograde. They do not currently come in the box with the ION.
( make certain you are signed up for the software and whip release notifications,... links at the bottom of this post)

ok so I have owned a volcano, as well as a zephyr ion now, and i love them both, however the volcano worked perfectly with my AC/DC car adapter (120v), and my zephyr does not! as soon as i start the zephyr up, it shuts down the adapter. Is there a large amount of electricity required for startup? or what could be keeping me from enjoying my zephyr on the road ???
To use the ION in a vehicle you will need a adapter that can handle 400watts. During the initial heat up faze the ION draws a lot of power to get hot so fast. After it gets to temp it draws very little power.

Also how long is it supposed to take to fill a bag?
A bag should fill in 30-45 seconds. ( based on a standard bag, larger bags take longer smaller bags fill quicker)

I know but I am wondering if I pack a bowl, do I have to finish it in one sitting, or can I finish it in the course of 2-4 days?
No, you don't have to finish it in one sitting but it is best to remove the basket from the machine when not in use. You can set the basket aside and use it as needed.

Quick question about how much teflon is used and how close is it to the heating element. I understand teflon is completely safe at this temperatures i just want to know if there is any teflon very close to the ceramic heating element. also, are all the 'airways' ceramic?
The Teflon does not come in contact with the ceramic and all of the air paths are either ceramic or medical grade silicone tubing

Regarding the whip accessory that is supposed to come out for this vaporizer, is there any news? At all? A local shop is selling the Zephyr for what I consider a very good price, but the only thing holding me back is the whip.
Bruce, I'd even accept an answer of 'I don't know'. To me that is better than 'soon'.
And while I'm at it,will any software that is released for the Zephyr going to be Mac compatible?
Thanks
Tom
Tom, on the whip - I don't know, on the software yes it should work with pc and mac

What are Zephyr users doing for the time being, if they want the whip? Specifically, which whip should I order?
I suggest the hot box vaporizers 2 piece whip. You will only need the one piece but it fits perfect on the Teflon tip and can be used hands free. Folks have been pretty much hobbling together whatever works. Much like the old days hahah.

MY ION QUIT PUMPING AIR
I FILLED OUT A FORM, IS THE ALL I NEED TO DO?
AND I NEVER GOT MY REPLACEMENT BAGS OR BASKETS
This is a question for me to answer on email or my website but,.... yes, filling out the form is all that needs to be done to start the repair RMA process. Within 48 hours (baring holiday issues) a label will be generated by UPS so you can send the problem ION back, print out the label and send us a clean (as can be) machine.
This is where things change from our old policy, we used to send a replacement as soon as someone told us they had a bad machine, problem is we would rarely get the defect back. So we had to get the machine back before we could send a replacement. That was fine but then we find out that we HAVE to attempt a repair before we send a replacement out.... oy,... so from start to finish a repair can now take 2-6 weeks depending on the issue and whatnot.

my advice would be to wait for someone from customer service to contact you.
Damn fine advice,... again sorry for my absence but it had to be done. I still have limited access to my phones and internet but will certainly take care of folks as quickly as possible.
