YouTube shutting down Cannabis related channels

It seems YouTube is not only after firearms related channels, but many Cannabis related channels are being shut down. While there is a lot of garbage out there many of these channels provide valuable educational information and grave been doing so for years. Not sure what may be done, I do no know many are trying to launch a WeedTube service and sone have gone to Vimeo. What is sad is many have just lost the steam and are moving on, when they still have much to share. Times are a changing and not for the better! Respect! -YaMon

YouTube is going to be dragged through the mud by the government just like Microsoft and Facebook were. They are just preparing.

I'm sure YT could not care less about content as long as they have views. All they want to do is make money. But, they know that when you get BIG in this country, the Gov gets a little worried.

Besides, there are other video upload sites popping up every where to take over the vids that YT is deleting. Like http://www.deletedvids.com/

@stickstones great question, I’m on my iPad so copy paste from YouTube not possible, but this guys video has a list of just a few sites in his notes:

The one I was following for years is medgrower1, he has now moved to Vimeo, whereas some other players are trying to launch a streaming site called WeedTube.

I suspect they’re doing this and the crackdown on firearms related site to help mitigate fall out that may occur against social media

They are doing it because they are ass licking, politically correct, go with the latest trend, ball-less sycophants who will do anything to keep the money flowing (and wrap it all up in BS "socially aware" marketing spin).

The two I used to follow were about growing, namely Pidgeon420 and Mr Canucks' Grow.

Apparently the other day they shut down CustomGrow420 too, arguably the biggest weed-related channel with around 1.5 million subs. It was shit though.

I just sent the following under ‘feedback’ to YouTube. It would be great to flood them with similar messages:

“Hello YouTube,


I am a medical cannabis user and I am pretty upset that many of the YouTube channels I follow are being deleted or are having videos deleted. While I realize not all YouTube channels are appropriate, I do have standards and am not tolerant of channels where all they seem to do is get wasted.


I am here to learn about cannabis, how best to cultivate and consume it to maximize the effects I am seeking to address chronic pain. If you continue to delete channels just because they are about Cannabis I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I hope you’ve flagged all your videos as Adult content or the like. It’s my understanding YouTube gives restricted content some slack, if that is true but what harm is there in trying.

Interesting, Strain Central is a pretty big site on U-tube and it's still there. Although in the last video he talks about not being able to upload videos his usual way. I thought we were beyond this. I thought Youtube recognized that cannabis use was becoming so mainstream and they would want to keep up with the times. Now going backwards towards the dark ages? It sucks because it was so easy to watch all the videos I was interested in on one site. Now I have to go to different sites for different content? It's a pain in the ass. I hope Youtube suffers a massive drop in subscriptions over this and loses a lot of money. That would be the only thing that may cause them to reverse direction.

My poor memory (more of a fog machine) says I dont believe Vapecritic has had any videos deleted, just some have been age restricted so they do not show up in a search.
