Yocan UNI Pro Box Mod Fits ALL Oil Cartridges

The ohm reading feature is something I’d miss a bit, regardless if a cart is empty or filled, same reasons.

Anyone with a decent ECig mod, like a DNA, could use it to test the ohm resistance, but it would be less convenient, as I’m popping in different carts. Knowing the carts resistance, and that the device is reading it properly, makes me feel more secure my voltage settings are running accurately. I bought 2 Yocan Pros for $40, so while the size and feel might not be for everyone, the price wasn’t a factor.

Yeah all the yocan stuff is super reasonably priced so that is never part of my consideration, just pick the one you like best for your needs!

I still don't really see any purpose for resistance reading, for me at least, I am using cartridges at the lowest possible voltage setting regardless...

Voltage-Wattage, all based on the resistance of the coil... but you know this.

Most likely, all these devices will have to take that into consideration, most just don’t have a display to show it. Those mods simply won’t fire if the resistance is too LOW, or too HIGH, but the YOCAN Pro will show that info on its display, as well as some other warnings. I too, tend to use the lower settings, as I cough more on higher settings.

Yeah I've literally never had any basic pen battery like this not fire ever... Also I thought resistance was only needed to calculate for temp control, like you don't need to worry about resistance when using mod-based convection vapes in power wattage mode (or if you are able to use a voltage, like that squid industries mod) So I guess I still don't really see the point here, but I don't have to!

Every mod I’ve ever owned lists the specs for the range of ohms that the device can handle. Based on the battery size, components, and chipset in use. Even if you only use them in Wattage or voltage mode, the resistance is part of the formula. A “mech” mod with no electronics is of course an outlier, and just delivers battery voltage to atomizer.

Not needing to see the resistance, is a preference for a device with no built in display. But most do read them, one may assume if it fires its “accurate”, a real time display can confirm it.

It’s possible that a cheap distillate/cart device only bases it power on a “presumed” resistance, let’s say the most likely average cart resistance these days is 1.5 ohms. That device will then only be truly accurate if the cart you have, is 1.5 ohms.

PUBLISHED OHM RESISTANCE LIMIT:

YOCAN UNI PRO = > .5 ohms
YOCAN TWIST = > .75 ohms

Okay yeah I was not talking about mods, because I would never use something like that for a cartridge, just various pen battery types, so yeah if it works then it works? I just still don't really see the purpose for me at all, but maybe I am missing something lol

Most of these devices even the pens, are “mods”, just a term for a battery with a 510 connector. And many use their ECig mods to power distillate carts, though I’ve convinced a few here, that for the cheap price, it’s nice to have something designed specifically for carts that can protect the cart too, and are tiny. If you don’t see the purpose for you, then that’s a preference, just vape on and enjoy.....

Oh lol thanks @RustyOldNail and sorry if I wasted any of your time or tried any of your patience! So yeah I guess for my needs of, buying a dispensary cartridge, attaching it to the battery (be it yocan wit or uni twist or even a cheap basic pen), using lowest possible setting holding down button as short as possible depending on the cart etc or preheat as session, to get some low temp vapor puffs smoothly to maintain levels wherever, I just don't see any practical value in the screen and other features of the pro compared to the twist personally! :2c::tup:

Not wasting anyone’s time, I’m sure there are a few that appreciate the dialog. I just like to keep the facts straight as I know them, and if wrong, and corrected, I learn something.

Seems you are happy and the device works for you, no need to complicate things. My PCKT-2 has NO display, there are colored LED’s that warn you if the cart is not working, normally you just reseat it. You can check the battery level and get one of 4 colored responses, but NO ohm readings. I’m choking on it right now, as it’s almost empty....

I do plan on buying the TWIST, seen it for $20

As a bit of a geek, I enjoy knowing how things work, and making my own ECig Atty coils, taught me enough to be dangerous... :)

I enjoyed the dialogue fellas thank you! I can still see a place for the Uni Pro in my line up, heck I have two of them too, and they are definitely awesome, just not as stealthy and portable as the twist or S, but they all serve their own purpose, and Yocan really kicks ass for constantly bringing new tech into these things on a regular basis.

Received my Uni Pro yesterday. Surprised about how small and light it is. Ingenious design with the twist, the height adjuster, and the magnetic adapter ring...It protects the cartridge, whereas the pen style 510 battery I was using does not.....love it! :peace:

I have been using my Uni Pro for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it.....I am vaping many more carts than I used to.....unfortunately the carts that I purchased yesterday, Surterra Float, both .5 g and 1.0 g, are a little too wide and do not fit...:peace:

I'm in the need for a B-Day present for a good bud that only hits carts at home.
Want something nice and easy draw (not auto pull crap) adjustable
Is that the Uni-pro and Where is best place to purchase it?

We use ESCC & V4Sic when at my cave, but on tennis court carts can't be beat for stealth and potency.

Are these guys ok?

I haven't had any problems from lighters usa, my orders came promptly and whatnot, but if you look around there might be a better deal somewhere.

I ended up with an Uni Pro after my evic primo mini died... I do appreciate the lowest settings, but fuck this thing is trash after a leaky cart!

What do you guys do after a leak? The whole bottom is crapped up, shit all in the elevator mechanism to raise and lower, oil is seeping out the front. I do not think it is cleanable...

This is where a traditional mod really shines over the uni pro, there is no proper way to clean the uni pro.

I let a friend borrow mine who returned it to me like that, I had to throw it away.

A traditional mod would have leaked the cart all in your pocket so I’m not sure that’s really any better. You could get a non recessed battery like the KODA that would be just as easy to clean as a box mod without all the unnecessary heft.

I actually prefer the KODO form factor, but won't buy batteries without variable voltage... I like going lower voltage than presets allow.

...if only it were offered as a KODO pro. I actually prefer it to leak in my pocket versus tasing a battery- I can wash clothes easier than a Uni Pro.

The settings in the kodo were based off feedback I gave Yocan from earlier batteries like the Handy. That was a few years ago though and a lot has changed since then in the cartridge scene.

For me The Kodo runs a little too hot for the latest high end carts. I still like the uni pro as it fires the lowest I’ve tried.

And I hear ya on the rinse cycle, either way it sucks, though I’d be most disappointed about the leaky cart as some of the ones I like are quite pricey! It’s not often that it happens but every once in a while it does seem to occur. I’m using AVD cartridges right now which I’ve not had any leaks (yet!)

Wow can't believe I just experienced a runaway Uni Pro in my pocket!

Was walking the dog and was thinking to myself... hmmm... what's that smell.... then I could feel the warmth of the battery and knew something was definitely not right. Went to yank the cart out and it was overly hot, oil bubbling; I took a draw to clear it and could tell right away the cartridge was definitely ruined. I first assumed a preheat cycle was triggered accidentally, so I put the cartridge back into the battery and it started automatically heating again!

The device seems to have short circuited, the screen completely gone confirming an electrical issue. I took a draw and then powered down the battery a few minutes before I took the dog out so everything had been working fine moments. Definitely a bit surprised, its been solid for a few years. I'll be performing an emergency transplant this morning to try and save the oil :science:

Do you think the cart may have leaked oil into the UniPro?
