I've had the GonG stem and the tube stem for a few weeks now, so have had time to give the Wychwood a proper workout, finally! I didn't want to give my opinion until I had the full kit.
It works amazingly well through glass. Very very fast vapor production. Unlike my other vapes, you get thick vapor filling the glass on the first inhale. I'm used the the first hit being wispy before the heat really gets going, but not with the Wychwood. It seems this is common to log vapes, as I noticed this same thing with the Hot Pod.
I really dig the direct-draw tube attachment for the GonG stem. The wideness of the tube is awesome, it feels like smoking a cigar, with very little drag. Its long enough that you can see the vapor flowing though the glass towards your mouth. This is a first for me, a direct draw vaporizer that has a visible vapor path allowing you to see the density of the vapor you're inhaling. It really packs a punch too, delivering thick white vapor, big clouds.
Its great to have a small vaporizer on the desk that I can easily just grab and inhale, so this has filled an empty place in my vaporizer collection.
I bought a VPS (the ebay one recommended by Hazy), but haven't found the need for it yet. The Wychwood is the ideal temperature for me, I can't see myself ever wanting it to be hotter. The standard temperature gives very thick and strong vapor.
The asthetics? Theres nothing to say, everyone knows its beautiful to look at
As shown by others, it works well with micro-amounts too. Just a pinch is enough.
I do find the bowl part of the GonG stem a little bit fiddly to take apart, clean and reassemble. This also applies to the original included stem. I'd prefer this to be all-glass, one piece, so I can just pop out the screen and drop the whole thing into alcohol to clean it. But thats only a small point, and doesn't detract anything from the vaporizing experience at all.
I'm waiting on delivery of some new video lights. As soon as they arrive I'll make a video of the Wychwood in action!
