Withdrawal effects…

Taking a T break from once per night vaping since I was experiencing nausea and some anxiety. The nausea has gone after 4 days of abstinence. However, having trouble sleeping, dysphoric and decreased appetite.
Better to stop for ~ a month or take a hit or two to lessen symptoms? Thank you

It seems odd that it would cause nausea and anxiety as those are the two things it reliably resolves for me. Are you sure it was the weed? Could it just have been some illness? I went on a 30 day T break late last year (visiting non-legal country) and did not notice much of a change for the first two week (other than less late night snacking). The last two got progressively worse.

For me, I'd take a hit or two to calm the anxiety. Anxiety is horrible. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I take meds for anxiety and depression. I’m fine and stable. In terms of cannabis this has happened before several decades ago. I vape once/night several hours before bedtime. When the the high wears off I feel sleepy and I sleep great. Then at some point out of the blue I get anxiety after consuming. Then I abstain and feel worse. Not sure to take a hit or two or this will exacerbate anxiety. I do the same strains (hybrid leaning indica). Maybe best to take a longer t break?

@ltv We sound quite similar, only I am treatment resistant. I have tried every medication and while they can dull the worst of it, they don't do much so I am only on one now. That one may be of interest to you, Mirtazapine. It WILL increase your appetite, much more than weed does. It is also wonderful for sleep, especially short wave sleep. I have never slept so well.

Weed is the only thing that seems to move the needle for me. I discovered that by accident last year when I decided to try some after decades of mostly abstinence. My usage pattern and effects mirror yours, other than your new anxiety after consuming. You say you use the same strains, but did this start after getting a new batch? Could it be something with that particular grow? Myself, I'd take a hit or two and watch and see what the effects are. If you get anxiety, it will go away in a few hours. If not, you have some relief. When I was on my 30 day break, the last week I got very bad depression symptoms, so do keep an eye on your mood as you continue on the break.

@ltv given you take meds for anxiety, my understanding is that it's something chronic and not related to weed usage. Am I right ?
Of course weed can exacerbate these feelings but we're all unique regarding our reactions to cannabis.
Our feelings and our dreams tell us about what's hidden in our psyche. When dreams or feelings are disturbing or incapacitating it's because there's something that needs our attention.
It's hidden but not inaccessible. It can be a hard and long path but with the right tools and guide it is absolutely not insurmountable.

I’m on several psych meds. I’ve been fine vaping for the last several years. Doing fine.
Thirty five years ago I was consuming everyday, doing fine and then one evening while consuming I had a panic attack which turned into depression. Was put on meds that worked. Had to change the ssri bc it stopped working. Then found one that continued to work.
Maybe the cannabinoid receptors eventually get “filled” which causes untoward symptoms?
Why then I can consume and enjoy for many months and then anxiety?
When I feel better, perhaps I can consume once or twice/week?
I appreciate this forum and the help. Thank you

Not sure how helpful this is, but I've gone from using about ~0.5g a day to ~0.05g every couple of days, and have passed through the mad dreams/night sweats phase - which means I effectively have zero tolerance (which suits me fine).

What's weird is my recent daily usage of lion's mane mushroom extract has taken the dreaming back to the epic levels of withdrawal, but in a much more fun and occasionally meaningful way. To the extent I deliberately dose before bed, knowing there's a treat in store later that evening (downside being occasionally becoming stuck in a hypnogogic state, which can be a bummer if I've got to be up early for work)

Anyway, I'm really pleased to have my thc usage back in it's box, and my head and memory are functioning way better than they were before I overdid the weed.

Never thought for a moment that usage could be moderated in this way, or that I could choose not to use for 3 or 4 days at a time without even thinking about using.

I'm not proselytising in any way btw. Everyone has their reasons, and I'm good with that, but for the dreamers out there, lion's mane is the bomb.

I appreciate sharing your experience and thoughts.
Thankfully I believe the worst is behind me. I was vaping (pax 2) every evening. I would take approximately 10-14 hits. Don’t have any idea the quantity that comes to.
Some people can abruptly stop cannabis and have no symptoms and many others suffer.
As far as the mushrooms which has helped you, I will pass. But thank you for the suggestion.
My goal is to be able to enjoy vaping once or twice/week. I could imagine some people saying “good luck with that”.
The withdrawal effects are nasty. And not worth it to me to consume every night.

Why not try the abstinence route? It could take ~14 days (up to 60 days if accumulated in fat) for the THC to be at an insignificant composition in the body. We know that it is a psychoactive compound that affects the ego and sense of self at subconscious levels. With the abstinence, scientifically, you’d get a baseline understanding of your biological and psychological self, and get the benefits of “THC fasting”/self control. Then reintroduce at your convenience in a controlled manner to understand more.

Exactly what I’m doing in terms of a T break.
I tried Sunburn “Dream Lady” last night. I took too many hits on the Pax which resulted in a calmer head and some anxiety felt in the body. Several hours later it felt like a weak Indica. Some tingling in the legs/feet which was relaxing.
Next time I will cut the amount in half.

Anyone try the Dream Lady?
