As for rolling papers, I also tried, it doesn't work...nor does it work good in the supreme vaporizer.
Did you use more paper than hash and made sure the hash was as small as you can get it because if it's too big a vaporizer doesn't have enough heat to get it going, you need to have the hash in as much small pieces as you can get?. I like to break it up with my fingers if it's like putty and use something sharp to break it up. If a little harder just use a razor to break it up, put it in the freezer along with your grinder for about 15 minutes to get real cold and grind the broken pieces while it is still cold so it won't melt onto the grinder.
I previously forgot to mention that you should tear the paper into small pieces also so air can flow through the paper and then spread out the small pieces of hash and let it melt onto the paper screen. In other words use the hash like kief and puff when the hash is in it's powdered, trichome like natural state because if you don't you need WAY more heat to get it going unless it's really soft hash and even then all of it will take a while to vape unless your using a really high temperature. You are essentially recreating nature in a different, more potent form because when using leaf or bud as a screen it is too thick and has too many other substances in it while using ultra thin rolling papers takes all this away and leave just the cellulose. Plus you are adding a little more trichomes than the plant can have and if you pressed it right changed the make up of the trichomes a little. If your vaporizing at different temperatures in a session you are also getting more substances than if you smoked it quick/add high heat which you will need to do if you used chunks or sizes bigger than sand.
Remember hash is nothing more than trichomes that are on the bud just in a more concentrated form and pressed together for transportation and some say changes the character of the trichomes. When it is on the plant it is surrounded by plant fibers and there is very little of the trichomes(around 95% plant fibers and 5% trichome), so when vaporizing air can circulate and boil the small trichomes but if you're using large chunks of hash or too much powder at once which melts onto itself and congeals, at least compared to small amounts of kief powder or trichomes in there natural state, you will need excess amount of heat and this will burn a lot of the lower oils fast which means tar. This is why people who smoke a lot of hash especially dry and not in a water pipe get that funny cough like someone who smokes a lot of cigarettes or they look like they smoke a lot due to their skin getting that dried out look and wrinkling. You know the cough where it sound like there is mucus in the throat. This is why I state break up the hash as small as possible until it is like sand and spread it out so you will see more of the paer than hash pieces. You won't need a lot of heat to get it going and you won't burn a lot of the oils which means more pure taste and not burned hash taste mixed with some pure taste. That is good sometimes but I wouldn't want to do it all the time especially since I know ingesting burned oils consistently isn't a good thing.
Even for smoking small pieces/powder is best. The two people who is known to have the best hash in the world, Sam Skunkman and Bubbleman don't press their hash and only smoke the trichomes in their powdered state because they realized you get more out of it than if you puffed it pressed or in large chunks.
If you have a bowl that isn't long like the mflb or you use a lot say for a party you want to add the pieces of paper first on top of the screen, add the small pieces/powdered hash on to the screen, add more paper on top of the hash, and keep doing this until the screen is half full. This keeps the air flowing in a bowl that goes upward and prevent the hash from congealing and blocking airflow.
Anyway, enjoy it.
