Downward spiral
Going back to the season finale, Randyll Tarly and Snow are having a drink of wine after Jon returns. Jon proposes a toast to Tarly after Tarly tells of his plan to go to Old Town to become a maister.
Jon says, "To your return", could it be some kind of literative hidden message to let us know Snow will be the one returning. I know I am reaching, but the Monday after the finale, I felt I lost a friend lol.

And what about Aria getting blinded, House Stark is/was cursed. Poor souls.

My friend at work predicts the red woman will somehow bring him back to life.

That, or the white walkers.

back when i read the book, i didn't realize she was at castle black when this all went down. I hope she does bring him back. At the time, i thought he may have "wargd" his mind into his direwolf or something like that.
i can't quite remember, when did we see a priest for her god bring someone back from death?

Here's the thing. The Lord of Light is a religion from across the sea, so there aren't many places a Red priestess could seek refuge. She could have headed for the company of the Brotherhood Without Banners, which is her nearest source of allies, but does she? No, she goes to Castle Black, which is about as far away as she can get from any other concentration of followers of the Red God—and where Davos happens to be. I guess since they were such good friends before she led Stannis into suicidal battle...

I wondered why Stannis would send Davos to Castle Black for help, since the Watch had just been devastated in fighting the Wildlings and Jon was not able to get anyone in Westeros to send reinforcements. Now Melisandre goes to Castle Black when it should probably be the last place in the world she should head for. I wonder what's up with that?

I put this down to Davos' bond with Shireen. I don't think he would have stood by when Stannis burned her at the stake.

He would have kicked off??? surely?????

Let me rephrase that. I wonder why Davos would obligingly head off to Castle Black knowing full well that it would be futile—nay, insane to ask them to send men.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too

Fuck knows

Orders?
He did protest some what before he set off for Castle black. You could tell he didn't want to go there. As for the Red Woman, she has gone back for Jon. 100% ... she has plans for him.

George R.R. Martin Admits 'Winter' Isn't Coming — At Least, Not For A While

George R.R. Martin answers questions before a game between the Hudson Valley Renegades and the Staten Island Yankees — briefly renamed the Staten Island Direwolves for their Game of Throne night in August.

Now, four months later, Martin has some bad news for his fans.

Care to break the hearts of Game of Thrones fans everywhere? It might just take seven words:

"THE WINDS OF WINTER is not finished."

So wrote George R.R. Martin in a lengthy blog post published in the wee hours Saturday. The author had hoped to publish the sixth installment of his massively popular fantasy book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, early in 2016 — which meant finishing and submitting the manuscript to his publishers before the end of 2015.

But Martin says those hopes have been dashed.

"You're disappointed, and you're not alone. My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed," Martin writes, "but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me."

He notes that this was not the first deadline he has passed — Halloween holds that honor — but the New Year's deadline may be the most consequential. Meeting it would have ensured that the manuscript cleared the necessary hurdles in time to be published before the end of March, he says — in other words, before the sixth season of Game of Thrones, the HBO television show based on the books, is set to air in April.

"That almost certainly means that no, THE WINDS OF WINTER will not be published before the sixth season of GAME OF THRONES premieres in April," he writes.

The deadlines just stress me out.

George R.R. Martin

The question necessarily follows: Will the show get ahead of the notoriously twist-laden novels?

"Maybe. Yes and no," Martin writes. "For years my readers have been ahead of the viewers. This year, for some things, the reverse will be true."

Ambiguities aside, Martin pledged to keep writing, to finish the book only when he feels it's ready and to dispense with all the deadlines.

"When delivery will be, I can't say. I'm not going to set another deadline for myself to trip over," he writes. "The deadlines just stress me out."

We're here to fuck shit up.
You know what stresses me out? Lazy writers that can't meet their own deadlines. Get off your ass and write, George!
