What would be your Trinity of vapes?

old-fart

Maybe not the oldest, but possibly the fartiest!
Vapman riding high! ; )
I added a "normalized" column to make a little sense of the data. Since I'm new to the hobby, I don't recognize all the abbreviations used on this site, so I likely missed a few. I don't know why, but I'm into this, so if anyone wants to help me, let me know. Also, most of the posts are from more than a year ago, so their choices may have changed.

Topping the chart now:
Tinymight Variant27
DynaVap Variant27
Vapman Variant25
Mighty Variant18
Firewood Variant17
Anvil12
Flowerpot Variant11
Bowle Variant11
VapBong Variant8
Sticky Brick Variant8
Solo Variant8
MiniVAP Variant7
Couchlog7
Underdog Variant6
Toad6
Tetra Variant6
Splinter Variant6

Tempest
Dynavap
Firewood 7

Tempest is all I’m using right now. Never ending honeymoon with this thing.
Love my dyna and armoured cap, I would replace it with a tornado though… which apparently works very well in the wand.
Firewood 7 was the device that helped me fuck combustion so I’ll always hold onto that hybrid bad boy.

The tinymight topping the chart is no surprise, it’s such a great enthusiast vape. Not for me after owning one but I’ve always understood the hype

The ratio of portables to desktops is hardly a surprise either

What is surprising is the next 5 being conduction heavy devices. Would not have called that one! I love conduction vapes personally

No thoughts, head empty
Right now mine is:
- Underdog
- FW9
- IQ2

Hoping to land a Toad or another pure convection portable to replace the Underdog and complete my portable trifecta, though the Underdog will always have its own place.
Updating after almost a full year, but my current trinity is:
- Tempest: home and concentrate use
- Toad: microdosing and hiking use
- Firewood 9: general around town use, or when I don’t want to bother with tracking the toad’s timing

Honourable mentions:
- Dynavaps, specifically the 2020 ti tip: Used heavily before the tempest, will try them again once I pick up a nice indica. Will probably move them to my camping/backpacking kit for next year.
- Underdog: Still love it, but the slow heat up has reduced it to occasional usage.
- Firewood 7: fell out of rotation with my 9 but it’s back as my preferred sharing device. It’s got more of a harsh note than my 9, but it’s so reliable as long as I pay attention to the buzz

Haven't been on here much as I have just been enjoying my capsule collection. Happy to see people checking back in.

Anvil (first reach)
Vapman (for melty bubble hash mostly)
Toad (I aspire to use this all mindfully but usually it's for tasting flower for the first time, or to avoid ruffling the tailfeathers of folks unused to torches)
Couchlog XL (had to make a rule that it's when I have company over, too many surprise naps after overindulging solo. It is fantastic paired with my recycler... toooo fantastic)

If somebody drops a crazy artisan halogen, or The Okin gets rereleased I might jump for it, but for now, I am content. Though honestly the Anvil is cornerstone of my usage and while I love everything else, it's the best suited to my consumption habits.

1) DynaVap (woodwynd currently). This was my first vape that really stuck (2016) and I’ll never ever get rid of it - this would be the last one I keep if I got rid of anything else. These days I prefer it with a lighter for a manual experience. I also have an older titanium omni (my first one) and a black m in storage for nostalgia reasons. I’ve had many others and sold them off.

2) Tinymight 2. Currently only using with a stem but this is another id never sell unless there’s a direct upgrade. Just incredibly reliable portable and powerful. Pure convention on demand with no fuss - can just use it on autopilot. Also the only one I bring outside the house. Love it on the bong too but the tempest has take over lately. (more below)

3) volcano hybrid - don’t use it that often but this is my tolerance buster and the one to break out with guests. Just set a temp and forget it. Honestly works flawlessly in every way but I find it sometimes “boring” because it’s just so predictable (this isn’t a bad thing for most ppl but I enjoy vapes as a hobby so sometimes I just want something new for the sake of it)

Honorable mentions:

Tempest - this is my new toy to break the boredom (see volcano above). Works very well with the stem but lately I’ve been using it strictly on a “triple Maria” style WPA and it’s just the best bong experience I’ve found. Predictable reliable and always delivers - super fun but also easy to nail every time.

Proxy - this is the only concentrate device I have now - but I don’t use concentrates hardly at all. This one is great for what it does though.

The reason all of these made the cut is because any single one of them (minus the proxy) could theoretically be my one and only device and I would never be lacking. I like variety but each of these are just perfect, and I find they compliment eachother well. The tempest has the most overlap and would be the first to be cut (no plan to) but since using it as a dedicated bong piece I’m very happy with it. I’ve had MANY other devices but these are what I’ve settled on as my goal is to reduce my collection down to just the core devices I use regularly and nothing else. I’m always trying to find exactly what this thread is about - a nice trilogy (or close to) so I don’t feel like I have excess but also don’t feel that I’m bored of the same device always. I feel I’ve really reached that now.

Edit: another way that I like to look at this

DynaVap = baby bear
Tinymight = momma bear
Volcano = poppa bear

Venty: For airflow and power, with the portable side. Easy to charge and empty, good batteries. And quality felt. Possible to finish a charge quickly. And microdosing is possible.

Volcano classic: For intense trips, weekends and days off. And with friends.

Vapman pure: For ritual, and bubble hash sessions, the beauty of the object.

I don't like restrictive vapes... which lack airflow!

  • SBL (mainly OG Brick or Runt), to start the day in good condition and when I'm on edge because it's a vape that takes you a long way very quickly (it calms you down quickly and put your mind right). I love ritual, which reminds me of my many years of combustion.

  • CouchLog, it's my working vape that's always at hand, doesn't take up desk space and has a low power consumption (7.5W at 3). I use it exclusively with mouthpieces (very rarely as an injector). I like on-demand aspect and there's no need to worry about batteries or butane. The captain is always ready to take off.

  • Milaana 2, which I also use in the work office, but more often on the road or in couch/bed. This vape is so simple and functional, I love it! One of my best vapes in terms of flavor (with CL). I love glass to glass connection and the different options it allows. This stuff is so powerful!

When I'm out with friends who always burning, I plug in the B2CVape Tiodw Mini V1 which I've noticed, is one of their favorite vaporizer of my collection. I think this is mainly due to the exclusive use of a bubbler (which probably reminds them of bongs, is purely psychological, I think). Some friends like bricks but are not patient enough to learn the technique and routine that goes with it.

My friends of e-cig liquid vapes particularly appreciates the TM2 and others RBT devices. TM2 is invaluable if you don't want to worry about anything (just press the button and enjoy). RBT requires a little more technique depending on the model as it is a unregulated device.

Anyway, it's just a personal preference and FC reminds us well:

My Trinity is all about hard hits and it’s all Canadian:

Arizer Solo 3
Vestratto Anvil
Vestratto Tornado

All of those have a certain amount of conduction to it which gives me the heavy body high I need. My other devices are basically just for variety and I could absolutely live without them. But if I‘d somehow lose one of these three, I‘d replace it immediately.

If you ever get a chance to complete the Canadian Trinity with a Tafee Bowle 2 you wouldn’t be disappointed. Proper heavy hitter.

Yay Canada! 🍁

I'm proud that we appreciate the plant and have great weed tech.

I also thank my lucky stars that the entire country legalized it back in 2018. One of the exceedingly few things Trudeau did that I ever cared about.
