When I was smoking, I was
3.5 g & < 7 g weekly (probably honestly an average of
5.5-6g honestly, really pushed it)
Quitting smoking and cold turkeying it off combustion but having vaporization immediately, I had some days as low as 0.4g-0.6g, some days where I went a bit closer to 1g. The last three weeks average if I had to guess, I was able to do around
4g a week. I notice my tolerance was slowly lowering as each time I vaped I seemed to get just that little bit higher, so I decided to accelerate the process this week.
This week is tolerance reset experimentation week where I am only having
0.15-0.2g a day, spaced out with a minimum of 24 hours. It is only for this week and it is HARD because I have quite a few symptoms that cannabis helps me with, but this is the whole point, I want to appreciate vapor high now that I can see how much more potent it can be. Day 3 of 7 and only a few hours before I get to have some Permanent Marker. I'm feeling really confident that this week will indeed be a
1.5g week (and that's high balling it, .15-.2g a day for seven days means the final number might be more like
1.2g for the final week count.
Now after this week is over, I'd like to raise my amount back up to around
0.3g-0.5g a day, but with the major caveat of having one big session (either in the middle or at the end of the day), giving my cannabanoid receptors a good 20-22 hours to recover every day, an dhaving my weekly consumption ultimately be
2.5g-3.5g. I think this could be the sweet spot for not getting burnt out and rendering medication less useful, while not over-abstaining to the point of ineffectivity.
(I've smoked from 2013-2025 so it's been interesting watching tolerance ebb and flow across this period; if you're wondering where the specificity comes from above, it's remembering the times in my life I had access to less weed yet it seemed to go so much further as a result of not being able to get high two to three times a day. Hopefully this plan works nicely for my medical benefit!)
as a 35 year smoker I was 7g or more/day but since making the switch to vaporising I dropped that to a tiny (for me) 2g/day.
that's amazing, I wouldn't call that tiny at all. You used to smoke 350% more than you currently vaporize. Huge victory, way to go, your post inspires me that the main reason I was overusing was the method of smoke, and that it is going to be a greater success to have switched off combustion. This site lives up to its name thanks to people like you.
And hey consider this, 2g a day, here in Florida that would literally be 70g (2.5oz) in five weeks. That's literally the exact default window that we're prescribed (2.5oz every 35 days), so your current pace would mean you don't even need to ask for an increase! That's seriously stellar work
