I've only been smoking since April of this year. Was very limited and irregular until about the second week of August. After that I've been smoking once every night before sleep. In the future I worry about things like drug tests for jobs and I know THC takes a while to get out of your system and have read that it takes about two weeks of no smoking to come out clean. But it also depends on your smoking habits. I don't think I'm a heavy smoker, I know people who smoke WAY more than I do, but it still kinda worries me. I guess I'm asking "what is the community definition of heavy smoking?"

From my perspective, daily use is bordering on heavy smoking. I vape only on the weekends (i.e. Friday and saturday night only).

If you are truly smoking (i.e. combusting), then you should consider vaping as a much healthier alternative.
See, that's the problem with subjective definitions. I'm a daily user but the amount I normally use would not classify me as a heavy user in most peoples' minds. Questions like this remind me of other questions with no good answers, like 'how many hits do you get from a bowl?' Variables that people don't account for are 'how much in the bowl?' and 'how big is your particular hit?'. One person's hit can be several for another, or a half hit for yet someone else.

There are also other considerations in a question like this, like body type, size, metabolism, age, physical condition, other drugs being used, etc. Since you know nothing about the individuals you're getting responses from, the answers don't really mean much.

This is not really concrete, as it also depends on your bud quality, how much you consume each session, etc., but I'd personally use something like this scale if someone asked me to describe a people's cannabis habits in levels.

Once a month = Infrequent
Once a week = Frequent
Only on weekends (Friday-Sunday / 1-2x per day) = Light
Only on weekends (3+ times per day) = Moderate
1-2x per day = Moderate
3-4x per day = Heavy (Your High:Sober ratio is probably somewhat close)
>4x per day = Very Heavy (Your High:Sober ratio is probably >1:1)

^^^^This.

So many variables at play here.

I utilize cannabis on a daily basis, every single night 30-45 minutes before bed.
Occasionally during the day or early evening when I'm feeling nauseated from the myriad of Auto-Immune issues and side effects of prescription biological medications.

But, I don't consider this as heavy usage by any means.

When I was in my teens and all the way to my mid 20s, I pretty much smoked first thing in the morning until last thing at night... Which is most certainly heavy consumption.

Ultimately, I consider my usage of Canna, just like any other prescription drug, more like a supplement IMHO.

"Vape 0.1 grams of Cannabis 30-45 minutes before bed "

Good question, I wonder that, too, especially when I read reports talking about health effects where they talk about users in categories like "light" and "heavy". At times I have read their definitions and thought, "well, just about everyone I know is a "heavy" user by that lame-ass definition".

By @EverythingsHazy 's definition I fall into the moderate/heavy, but then we have to ask how much is consumed in that "time"? I took 3 small puffs this morning, did not use my full lung capacity (inhaled part of breath on mouthpiece then finished inhale with plain air) and as an asthmatic presently going through some rough allergies, my lung capacity is shit compared to a marathon runner. So, does my morning use count as a full "1x"?

So subjective, and so hard to categorize. Adjusting for lung capacity and type of hit (smaller), I would put myself in moderate instead of heavy, even though I typically use 2-3x per day on average.

WTF We don't smoke around here. :sherlock: We are vaporizing, it's Fuckcombustion. Welcome @Kakaxxot this is a great community.

Some folks would consider me a light vaporist and others would consider me a heavy user. It's in the eye of the beholder. Just too subjective.

Also some folks have medical issues that cannabis helps. A medical user may consume more than a recreational one.

Most days I do use cannabis and most people would think that would be a lot or considered a heavy user. :leaf::peace:

You may want to look into the "2 weeks " thing....

With the active compounds of Marihuana being fat soluble, Metabolites of Cannabis can stay in your system up to 90 days.

Especially with the modern day drug screening, MS/GC machines can do some digging that was not previously used.

This too is subjective however, body weight, metabolic rate, amount of consumption, route of administration (edibles last a long time).

Just a heads up, don't want you jumping into taking a urinalysis thinking 2 weeks is a sufficient timeframe.

Fake genitals, fake urine, effective preparation are the only ways to comprehensively beat drug testing in the workplace (even then only urine tests of course). I heartily encourage everyone to do this and not even consider giving up their usage, since the fact that metabolites of actives can be stored in fatty tissue means that quitting for any given period of time will not necessarily save you depending on many variables.

Don't do yourself out of the herb (for a time) and potentially a job by thinking you can give up a few weeks and not get caught!

Now..for about the last 5 years..every day after 8pm. Weekends start at 1 pm. I would say...heavy use.
Used to be every day starting at lunch time......for decades (30+ yrs). I would say.....very heavy use.

I wanted to clean for a real pass on a piss test. Took me about almost 8 weeks to pass the test.

Hi and welcome @Kakaxxot :)
ive quit smoking 5 years ago and i know from a friend that drinking much tee can eventually help to get the thc out of your body, but i´m and he is not a doctor so..
He must quit smoking thc because of the german "bundeswehr retirement", hope this is the correct word for this (i think its the same as army retirement).
He was a heavily smoker for years and quit this for 4-5 weeks because of this and he drink much of tee :D
but it was helped him and he was taken by the "german army(bundeswehr)" :)

Tolerance is a big factor, as is recreational and medical use. I use cannabis for both actually.

I've been 'SMOKING' 40 years, 'VAPING' 1 year. Vaping saves so much herb, more THC gets in your system is more with less. With that said, if you measure by amount, I guess I go through about 1.5 grams of high end stuff vaping daily. Session wise - many (10), during most of the day / night when I'm not working with a client (if I'm writing on computer, I'm sipping away). If I went through 2 grams it would be a lot, and on some days, I probably only use a gram or so. But I smoke all day, most days, and definitely all night, sleep like a baby and really have no issues at this point...

The price has a lot to do it for me, if it were more expensive I like the fact I could still get nicely medicated with less herb. Given I use 1-2 grams a day, herb being around $10 a gram in ounces. Ciggies being $26 for 20 and coffee $5, a beer at the pub $5ish and a large Big Mac meal like $9 it's a relatively cheap hobby for the moment!

hehe, i vape around 0.2 - 0.5 a day, sometimes more sometimes less (and sometimes i make a pause to get my tolerance back:D).
I like it to bake with my AVB, its so much better than combusting and you get so much more from your plant:)

in the weekend it can be 1-2g a day(with my girlfriend together) but this was an exception.

If one vapes 0.025gr. every day, is that person a borderline heavy "smoker".

With everything there are exceptions from the rules. If someone vapes/smokes weed everyday, they are more than likely consuming more than 0.025gr. So it's safe to assume that an everyday weed user is likely to be in the category of 'heavy'. But like I said, there are exceptions that will only consume a small amount everyday and it would be folly to label them heavy smokers.
