What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

Fuck it. I took a chance and ordered a Triade. We'll see what happens.

For the record, I wasn’t swindled or anything, just lost a week, I mounted the splinter on top of my Milaana and day dreamed about how nice having a mod would be . They issued a refund very promptly after I responded to the bad news, lol. Anyway it may not be the case every time, I was just sharing my experience and my personal policy with them. The one oversea vendor I deal with that has done right by my book is vapesourcing.com , they don’t have any fancy Lost vape mods but their prices are competitive and there’s no bs in getting my stuff. Got 3 mods from their US warehouse in 4 days and 1 delivery from China that took 10 days from processing to delivery.

Well, I took the plunge too then. I actually don't mind that it's not ready to ship. If the Splinter pairs well with the Pico for my usage I can cancel, if I feel I need more umph or accuracy or style, I reserved it at a good price.

And one of the main things I'm glad about is that I know what the one I picked out is actually supposed to look like. Not easy with these on some sites .

I've received an order from sourcemore once and fasttech twice with just the typical China delay in shipping and customs.

The Triade for $102 after code bunny at fasttech is pretty decent but I'm gonna hold off.

That's good to know. I don't have a problem waiting. I have a couple of mods on its way.

When it comes to fasttech, unless they list it as available and ready to ship I wouldn't bother ordering. They've done it to me before, list OOS items with an estimate ship out date and just never bother telling the customer it's really not available and the estimate is a wishful thought. You'll be notified when you email them all pissed off and they'll confess to not having it.

On Fasttech the Paranormal is $115, but there is a coupon code APRIL 18 is Bunny. comes out to $99.41.

BTW, the Thinkvape Finder is aboout $95.

That's the same one that I got. When did you place the order. I haven't received shipping notification yet. I purchased last night though.

EDIT: Just checked the status and it does say "Waiting to Be Packaged" so that must be a good sign?

The VapeProLine Union. The 2.0 takes a single 18650/20700 battery, has a Starplat75 chip, takes atomizers up to 24mm and features a silicone sleeve.

Personally I wouldn't do it in any mod, but I hadn't read that one chipset is better than another in this regard.
Call me paranoid, but I have more faith in a dedicated charger for these batteries, especially in pairs.

I'm bad I charge my batteries well still in the DNA mods. With them i'm not as concerned. Other Mods I use the Nitecore D2 instead. The P80 also gets charged at times in device but only durning travel.


The safe advice for years has been to use a ext charger. With newer mods not sure if that advise is as important. Even if it's safe you put extra wear and tear on USB connection. I think the best advice is to charge using a ext charger. (even thou I don't follow it myself)

This Finder takes 3 batteries like the Triade. I happen to like the screen (flush with exterior) on this better than the Triade which has a recessed screen.

I picked up a Wismec DNA 250 (bronze) from Vgoodiez (where I got my splinter) and it was reasonable for a DNA mod...pretty much same price as Fasttech for same mod but you'll get it much much quicker. I also just picked up a P80 from them as well and waiting on that. They have an option to preload mysirevic on it as well.

I ordered a triade as well and in the same boat regarding having to wait. Is the DNA better? Unfortunately, both of my mods are DNA mods so I don't have a good point of reference. That said, mine works fantastically but if I were in a pinch, I wouldn't hesitate getting the RX Gen3 especially at that price. If you head over the splinter thread, you will see that quite a few people use the RX Gen 3 for their splinter.

The DNA mods seem to do temp control better and more reliably, but some folks have been able to get good results with non-DNA mods. I have a non-DNA mod (RX 2/3) that I do wattage mode with, but could never get good temp control. Not sure how much of that is the mod and how much is the effort I put in to it. My DNA mod (VT75C) does temp control very well with little effort...
