What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

I agree with @Shit Snacks: DNA mods are a worthy investment. Compared to the three TC mods I've tried the DNA gives more consistent performance and reduces the risk of scorching and hot spots.

Wattage mode with a cheap mod is still pretty impressive with the Splinter lineup, don't get me wrong. The DNA experience is a step up though for sure.

It just takes a lot of test and guess work, with questionable accuracy (and even safety?) for use with heaters they were not designed for. Yes sur_myevic was designed for ecigs like arctic fox, while tubo_myevic does offer much more for our type of vaping though it was set up for Tubo heater (someone needs to get Ralph all these new vapes so he can give us some proper settings for them!)

So this is just the case with the HSA steel mesh heaters found in Splinter and iHeat, with a simple coil like in the Imp you will actually be fine to run temp control with the Tubo as MistVape himself has played with it and even listed some suggested settings on his website. He may also start offering a mod with software already set up to use out of the box. So yes go Tubo for Imp, or if you want more mod choices I am sure Imp can do TC with surmyevic and arcticfox as well. DNA will just be more accurate?

GLOW will not work in TC at all out of the box regardleless the mod and software since it uses kanthal coils, but you can swap in your own steel coils to then use it just like the Imp I presume. StemPod would be similar with its coil swaps too.

Just got it and Mistvapes settings work fine ! I Feel like I am having more or less accurate temps.Convection extraction depends so much on airflow restriction combined to draw time it's difficult to tell exactly for the temps. But I feel I can go through a huge temp range without combusting and that's all that matters.

I have found the TC is not working properly for my smoant naboo. Scortches my herb, although Wattage mode works. Same TC setting on my cylon work fine.

Comes from china. I believe you would be stung with import charges on such a high value mod. Anyone got experiance?

$66 for the bronze dna250 is the best price I've seen and just edges the price I paid with an ebay code a while back. The bronze dna, while bulky, works great with my Splinters.

I see a lot of people posting about their TCR value on their DNA mods. I have a handful of DNA 75s and I don’t see anywhere to input a TCR value, even in the escribe app. I load material profiles and set max wattage and temperature. And this has always worked great for me but I’m still curious about trying the whole TCR thing. If anyone could elaborate on how to set TCR on a DNA mod that would be useful, thanks!

I was searching ohm instead of resistance. The video sneaky pete referenced on his review of the splinter he makes it seem like you set it from the screen like voltage and temp.

The problem with replaceable coil is quality of the SS wire used not all coils are equal quality. Some 316L clapton run great in TC others are a crapshoot with it

Not quite like a session vape, since the herb doesn't really vape unless you're inhaling to create the convection heating and vapor, but yes it is like holding the button down, only you do not have to actually hold it (surmyevic's autofire is just engaged when pressed, Tubo's cruise can be set to a number of clicks)

I stumbled on how to raise or lower resistance on a DNA mod. This is a description of how it was done using the Think Vape theme.

Go to the profile of the atomizer you are using. Move the cursor down to the resistance number. Click on the resistance number. The default seems to be an offer of resampling the resistance. If you move your cursor over the resistance number (top item) click with the middle button and then raise or lower resistance (at your own risk).

If I go back in this thread or others I can certainly find myself warning about buying solely by price for fear of counterfeits and buying direct from China for a lack of recourse should something go wrong, and here I am waiting on a package from China that I ordered from one of China's most notorious marketplaces because the price was so low that it pulled me over the line. I guess I need to say, get me high enough and my own shopping standards melt away...

So, nevermind that the last stop in the tracking said "sending to airline", that was the 16th and it is surely on a ship somewhere. Where is that patience I consul in others? Off with my consistency somewhere having a beer...
