What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

My quest for the cheapest decent mod continues. I live in the UK, and I've found that searching online for a particular mod usually leads to out of stock or overpriced listings fragmented over various shops. The closest I've found to a large ecig shop supplying in the UK, with good prices and a wide range is Ecig One. Looking purely for the cheapest possible thing made by brands people have mentioned on the board, I've found the Realeaux RX2 and RX3 (https://www.ecigone.co.uk/mod-shop/regulated-mods/realeaux-rx2-21700-mod-only?sort=p.price&order=ASC and https://www.ecigone.co.uk/mod-shop/wismec-reuleaux-rx-gen3-dual-230w-mod-only?sort=p.price&order=ASC) at £35 and £40 respectively. There is also a Vaporesso Switcher (https://www.ecigone.co.uk/mod-shop/...o-switcher-220w-tc-mod?sort=p.price&order=ASC) at £30, and a Smoant Ranker (https://www.ecigone.co.uk/mod-shop/regulated-mods/smoant-ranker-tc-218-mod?sort=p.price&order=ASC) at £25. The absolute cheapest thing that looks like it would work is something called a Starss Orion, but I didn't see anyone mention this brand so could be garbaggio (https://www.ecigone.co.uk/mod-shop/regulated-mods/starss-orion-75w-tc-box-mod?sort=p.price&order=ASC) at £20.

I basically want to spend the least on the mod so I can save money to spend on them sexeh attys. On those grounds I guess the Smoant Ranker would be the best?

Is the RX3 better than the RX2? I would think having three batteries would be heavy and bulky, plus I'd rather not have that many batteries!

@aoaiwof, I would think that you would want a mod which can use AF, FJ or Red Panda firmware so that at minimum you can increase the firing time so you don't hit the fire button twice when drawing.

Don't forget to check out the mod reviews you're interested in on youtube. Size is important to me, so I get the opportunity to see the unit in hand.

I just ordered the Wismec Sinuous Ravage 230 which I'll load with RP to increase the fire time. And keeping an eye out for the compact Wismec Gen 3 dual.

Yes - there are a few sub $100 DNAC devices
It may be easier to decide how many (and what size) batteries you want the mod to hold.
There's some 11/11 deals on at the moment and Black Friday next week so there should be more discounts and thus more devices under $100 to choose from but off the top of my head there's ...
VT75D which takes 2 18650s
VT75C which takes a single 26650 or 18650
Mirage which takes a single 18650, 20700 or 21700

I went for the VT75D as I wanted a dual 18650 mod as I already had a few other dual 18650 mods that I have bought batteries for in pairs and have always been charged together in the past that I don't want to get mixed up in single or 3 battery mods.

The Eleaf Invoke is my budget mod choice (I think I abused a code to get it down to £24 inc del from Fasttech) which runs great with the stock firmware, Arctic fox or Sur_myevic altho the battery doors can be a bit annoying.
The RX 2/3 (my 2nd choice) can be had for under £40 if you can find stock (ebay amazon) and maybe £30 if you're not picky about the colour, it's a little bigger, heavier and more robust than the Invoke and can run FunkyJunky's tubomyevic firmware, which might be enough to make it your first choice :hmm:

I have an RX 2/3 that I got partially because I didn't know how 3 batteries would feel in my hand. I prefer 2 with it and rarely load 3, but rotate a third battery in the charging mix to keep 3 synced. I am currently trying TC mode on my Splinter with it but I am still experimenting to get it right.

Wasn't aware of the RX2/3, quite interesting. I think the single cell is still appealing to me for some reason. Found a Wismec Sinuous P80 through Vape Bargains UK which I can get for £32 delivered. Stick AF on and I should be good for my iHeat when it comes :)

So I have a Wismec Reuleaux gen3 dual box mod running ArticFox. What settings is everyone using for the Splinter Z? I don't know about box mods, and don't want to really! I just want it to run my Z. Any help is appreciated! The firmware is already installed I just want a 5 second pre heat and them a 15 second temp controlled hit after that.

AF is 15 seconds max. I'm unsure you really need 5 seconds pre-heat, but you could just press the trigger for 5 seconds, release, then put in mouth then draw for a whole 15 seconds time-out.

If you don't want to learn, just use VW mode and start at 30W and see if you need to go up and down.

pulled the trigger on this SBody macro II DNA 75 from fasttech today for my first mod box. No color screen and no repeat mode but still DNA chip. With coupon code THANKS15, it was $46 , not too bad I think .

Anybody got a really light mod that does TC modes well and is capable of producing up to 40 watts? I really want weight and size to be as little as possible so I would even consider a mod that uses a small battery that cannot,be removed. I have big heavy mods already, but this particular mod needs to be tiny and as close to weightless as possible for its intended uses.

I also need a long cut off (like 20 or 25 seconds) and would love a preheat/autoheat feature where I can just press a button once and it goes through the complete heat cycle of 20-25 seconds.

Just wondering if anyone has anything or knows of any device like this.

@nosmoking: cruise mode only exists in tuboevic firmware and that firmware is the one having the least amount of devices supported, so I don't think what you want exists.

You'll have to cope with a 15 seconds maximum cutoff (most devices are 10 seconds, nobody in the e-cig world needs more than that actually as it's enough to make you choke with e-liquid pouring out of your ears...) and having to hold the trigger.

You could put sur_myevic on a compatible mod for a 25 second cruise

There's a list of compatible mods here
https://github.com/MicroSur/sur_myevic/blob/master/git_doc_en/usageandcompatibility_en.md

The Eleaf Invoke is very small and light for a dual 18650 mod.
The single 18650 Evic Primo mini and se are a few mm smaller and a little more robust if you think a single battery will be enough capacity for your planned usage.
This may actually work for my needs in this case. Is there a video of this cruise control in use? I imagine you can cancel the cruise control with an extra click of the button?

There's a few Russian language videos on Youtube detailing all the features
And a big thread about it here
http://www.ecigtalk.ru/forum/f16/t101158.html

They call it auto fire in the menu system under vaping and is activated by a long press of the fire button and deactivated by pressing any button.

I don't understand much of it at the moment myself but if you're a bit techy you can customize the firmware further and extend the auto fire and with the tools on the github and in the thread

Need to get something for an iHeat now, want to save so I guess any DNA thing is out... Someone said eleaf ipower was good and I do like the idea of not having to swap batteries, but maybe I should stick with something that uses tubo software since I am already familiar with that? Cuboid perhaps, but which... Theres way too many potential options, I just want one small and simple and cheap

Is $46 too much @Shit Snacks ? The sbody macro II i linked last post is said to be the smallest DNA mod , should be simple to operate too. 3 for 3 or abit over budget ? It was over my budget but I'm thinking / hoping it will be a decent first mod where I didn't buy too cheap/too expensive yet good for awhile with no MAS ...

Rock Bottom Vapes carries the Evic Mini for $38.00 here They are in the US and you don't have to buy 10 at a time, like DHgate wants.
Since you got a handle on using the Tubo, integrate the same engine for your I Heat.

It's acutaly not made of plastic, sorry for wasting my time trying to help you dude . Could have been more class then suggesting that "to you" I bought a kids toys . I'm looking at performance over esthétique myself. Rather buy a DNA chip first rather then wonder and buy a DNA later anyway.. cheers ! The all leather vapeman DNA is at a decent price too , don't know if it's too senior looking for you or over your budget . Was abit over mine but niceness mod all the same.
