My water tool has ice pinches. I use both water and ice.

Love sipping vapor as if it was cool, crisp mountain air!

It's a little something like this, but without the "smoking" slide pieces...

The vapor from my Launch Box usually goes through water (or green tea and ice chips) in an Orbiter, and I love it!

The cloud density from the MFLB is directly related to the velocity of your draw; a slow draw yields a dense cloud and a fast draw gives a thinner cloud. With the bubbler I have immediate visual feedback about my draw and can adjust it to get exactly the cloud type that I want.

Even with a direct draw I cannot tell cloud quality by taste and/or temp because of the damage that 65 years of tobacco smoking did to my tongue.

I use water 90% of the time. I use hot water when I can be bothered, the steam adds moisture to the vapor which makes it smoother for me.

That water might remove a very small amount of actives but you can take a larger hit. Even if you still vape the same amount of bud but in a few big hits instead of lots of small ones I think you would get equally if not more high.

I always remove the whip attachment from the bong to clear it. That means there is no back pressure on the load when you stop inhaling.

i'm in the never-use-water cult ... i just can't risk knocking over the water into my computer/keyboard/etc. my vape lives on my desktop for easy access - bong just wouldn't fit.

re: tolerance control ... i manage tolerance by putting a smidgeon less in the vial sometimes ... so does this mean the water reduces potency of the vapor - enough to provide a moderating effect on tolerance???

Maybe, for some folks with higher sensitivity and perception probably, for those who lack the focus probably not.

I mix it up....most times dry ... sometimes wet.... (Solo, D020-D bubbler, 14mm Gong)

I use the bubbler to celebrate special occasions with big rips or when the wife needs to get in front of a migraine with high temps and gently used ABV.

The first time I used the bubbler it was a game changer for me and I got wasted quicker and in a more satisfying manner than when dry. Who doesn't love watching that white milky cloud build in the bubbler before releasing it like a carb on an old bong?

BUT ... Going wet requires I jack up the temp and use more herb per session and more herb per high. I can get just as high on the dry side but it'll take longer.

For me .... It's kinda like driving a car .... DRY = doing the speed limit and getting there in 10 minutes and using less gas. WET = high rate of speed, getting there in 5 minutes and using more gas. Sometimes I wanna burn rubber and sometime I want a leisurely trip. Regardless of whether it's a wet or dry ride I still use way less herb than combustion.

Another time I'll go wet is when I'm showing someone new to vaporizing the ropes and I want to impress them right away. Converting someone from combustion when they can see the vapor forming like that is always easier.

I voted sometimes because my water usage pretty much depends on 2 things, what situation I find myself in when I need to get my head right and what device I'm using.

If I'm vaping concentrates, I'm using water 100 percent of the time, unles I'm using a waxpen which is doubling as an an ecig. I think I would probably die from coughing if I didn't use water to filter the hit when using my enail. And being able to see the milk in the glass also helps me regulate my intake.

If I'm vaping flower, I find that if I use a device at its highest temps, I want water to smooth out the hot vapor going down my throat (Pax, SSV). I never use water with my log vapes.

Lastly though I have a few glass pieces, I find myself choosing the Orbiter most of the time for its simple diffusion and small volume size. It shines with the Maud Dib and Pax.

Since my bubbler came in I've almost exclusively used water. It does seem to rob the taste a little bit but produces bigger smoother hits. The last few stems I've taken a terpene rich hit or two at 3 dry before bumping it to 5 on the bubbler.

There IS something lost in the water, but honestly I doubt many actives. Whatever IS left is very stinky... I've heard tell of people drinking the water (to very little or no affect lol) but wouldn't dare personally. So the breakdown for me personally is dependent on my mood, more flavorful albeit whispier hits dry and fewer but much larger and smoother hits with water. Unlike someone above I feel I lose nothing of note and require the same amount loaded in the stem for comparable effects. 3 milky bongrips vs 6-7 whispier hits takes me to the same place.

Depends on what you've got going on too, a dry stem in my solo takes almost twice as long as one through water with my domed screen. So sometimes I do it for simple immediacy.

Something to consider in my instance is that im transitioning from nearly constantly combusting, vaping through waterpipes feels far more akin to combusting for someone in my posistion.

I love adding a little moisture to my vapor. I feel it is much more gentle on my respiratory passages and it doesn't take away from the potency or flavor imo. I also generally use very small amounts of water with simple percs as I feel you don't really need to filter vapor through an entire lake of water to achieve smooth rips and multiple percolators and/or diffusers seem like total overkill (vapor can be a little bit dry but no where near the harshness or scorching temperatures of combustion smoke).

Dry always! I have an intimate relationship with my vapor haha... I prefer direct contact with my vapor and don't like a water piece getting in the way of my tasty dense vapor. I guess I'm more of a purist in that regard. Kind of like sex being more pleasurable, intense and natural without a condom!!

Besides that, I don't have to worry about cleaning and maintaining glass or the possibility of breakage. I like things pure and simple. I love the thick vapor using my Herbalizer with a whip and the ridiculously dense, smooth and tasty vapor I get from my Mighty direct draw. That said, there are some vaporizers that are simply to hot and harsh for me to hit dry and I avoid those...I'd put Pax 2 in that category..

Dry all the way baby:rockon:

It's funny, I specifically bought my log vapes because of how perfect they seem to be for water. But more often than not I tend to just use dry stems. Mostly out of convenience.

When I do bust out the waterpipe its mostly for the fun of milking a huge hit, not because I feel the need for water filtration or extra cooling.

For me, it depends on which vaporizer I am using.

I never felt the need with my Haze, and it seemed like a hassle, needing to buy an adaptor and then messing around again with a glass piece. So that one I always vape dry.

I bought an Underdog to have for home use. That one, of late, I almost exclusively vape through my baby bong. It just smoothes out the hit. However, sometimes with a fresh bowl or because I feel like it, I will vape dry as well. It does burn my throat more, but I think the flavor is better. I now I am back to maintaining a glass piece, but it is much easier with vaping than combustion, much less to clean and less often.

Depends on my mood and situation.

If its a late night, I'm alone, nothing to do.. I'll pop my VG cap over my metal downstem for a nice wet-vapor-session (That sounds like a dirty verb, its not just me, right?). I do, however, only designate my waterpipe for vapor usage. If its borrowed, it better be returned clean, undamaged, and tar-free.

If its like most days and I need to sneak around for my vaping, I prefer my pax for stealthy vape sessions in public/around non-vapers. Otherwise i still love my VG by itself, and expect to love my bronze sherlock even more.

It all comes down to how fast I want to get medicated, and how I want to change up each session.

Water shouldn't be seen as a turn off, just as a way to enhance your pleasure. First buy a piece with very little diffusion and just cover up the part the contains your diffusion piece. My bubbler's are shower heads and you only need very little water right at the bottom. The less water you use, the more flavor you get. Ideally you are able to pull out a lot of the taste and hit your dry herb, hash, oil, etc. harder to extract it's chemicals very efficiently.

Having a few weeks more experience now I would like to explain what have become my session rituals a bit more.

I still mix it up each session for the Haze. The Nu Song @Ratchett makes isn't hard to use at all, and the wong from Ed's TnT that I have on order is a stem and connector so I think it will be super easy to use. I often start and end dry, I can get a good long session every time I use it for anything, so water simply allows me to enjoy the whole thing without a lot of coughing and irritation. I start on one and gradually go to four (make that start on two with hash or oil). As soon as I start coughing (about 5 min) I put it in water and then go until I get nothing out of it. By then it is at four and I take it out and can extract a few more dry hits. By then it is pretty spent so these are nice mellow hits. For dry herb I always recommend not using the can if you want it real strong flavor wise for water, or on lower settings. If you do use the can for dry herb you can pretty easily go dry the whole time and the taste is admittedly very nice and mellow. I use the Haze about twice a day once for dry herb, once for concentrates.

With my Underdog it's a lot more simple a choice, because I feel the water is what really brings out it's full potential. The direct draw is very intense and I only sip at it. I do like the full flavor you get, but I feel the Dog is really made for water. I usually do 3 stems a day mixing it between the nylon and glass. I probably do a full direct draw stem 2-3 times a week, but I do take at least one or two direct draw hits a day of whatever I use.

Also if the clean up seems scary it shouldn't. Even with oil, when vaping it isn't anything next to combusting in a bong. I find the glass easy to clean and even the water stays fresh a few days if you use RezBlock. I am getting a EVO so I am sure my water adventures are just starting!

I am trying to use my Air dry & only use water with my EQ these days. The main reason is because I tend to overindulge in a reckless hi temp manner that leaves me passed out in all too frequently.

I find that keeping it under 200 in the Air is quite flavoursome & is kind of like puffing on a spliff but nicer. When i use the EQ & water i just want to get fucked up good & will happily vape up 3 or 4 elbows just like i used to rip a couple of huge bowls in 5 or 6 monster rips.

Then again i am a fucking liar because o just vaped two GonGs in the Air on red while typing this.

I thought I would revisit this thread now as iv changed my vote to sometimes....

Although, after 2 days of strenuous testing, I can confirm that for me personally, I can tell that something has been lost from my high when vaped through water. The same dose will get me higher dry, rather than wet...

I will not be using the bubbler exclusively...more of an every now and then thing I think...

Don't get me wrong, I got the biggest, densest vapour cloud iv ever seen today, it was amazing, like I'd just hit a huge bong...but still didn't knock my socks off like a dry hit would....

Anyway its good for dabbing or vaping hash or just mixing it up...

Lately I've been mainly using my D020-K bubbler with each session, I find I get more of a hit from using water, I feel because it helps you to extract more at once from each draw.

I still enjoy my Solo dry and of course when out and about with my Da Vinci Ascent, it's always dry, not very stealthy if I pulled out a bong in the middle of the pool hall

Though I do tend to finish the bowl when I get home via my bubbler.

@kellya86 Looking forward to trying some desktops and seeing the difference you keep mentioning.

I haven't tried vaping without water yet, i'm just too much of a bubbler lover i guess, even though there obviously is some loss in the water..
Recently though, i discovered that dabbing through a drop down builds up reclaim faster than the frit disk of my DG bubbler does, weird.
Anyone have that experience too?

I vape through water most of the time, if I take dry hits it's mostly because I'm in a hurry and do not have the time to set everything up. I also love very cold water and my bubbler has a mouth wide enough to put ice directly into it. I currently own three vaporizers, one is specifically made to be used through a bong/bubbler (Herborizer), one fits natively into a 14mm joint (Vapman) and I bought a GONG for the third (Air). Loved bongs when I smoked so it has been a natural evolution to me. Not a fan of heavy diffusion to preserve taste.
