Tripper Of Fish
Hello i'm fishtripper, I was diagnosed with A.L.L acute lymphoblastic leukemia it was 10 years ago this feb. The cure for the a.l.l had a cost, i was given 22 spinal taps to inject a chemo drug into my spinal fluid and brain fluid so the cancer would not go to my brain. I was a bad stick and some of the taps had up to 32 entry holes and some were used for more then one stick, and it caused spinal cord damage over time. due to the spinals the nerves in my spinal cord don't work quite the way they used to and was diagnosed with Arachnoiditis (not a fear of spiders lol). I was maxxed out on pain killers(methadone and morphine) and finally decided to try marijuana and it helped tremendisly(sp) and it makes my days not so miserable. I smoked it for a few years and finally tried a vaporizer but unfortunatly i didn't do my research and bought a REALLY CHEAP (ones you can get on ebay for $30 (looks like a cheap vapor bros knockoff) But i finally saw the light and got me the new Extreme Q and have put my old vaporizer in a storage box probably will never be heard from again lol. so thats my story i have been cancer free since 2003 and a cannabus user since 2005. I enjoy this site and all the info from other members comes in handy. Hope to get to know you guys better as time goes on.

I have a medical related question.. Did you notice different effect from difference strains on the symptoms you suffered ? For example which relieves you pain better indica/sativa/hybrid ? THC.CBD depended >?
Which of them has best influence on your mood?
Do you suffer bad trips if you overload you body with mj ? (if you vape too much, is it more difficult for your body or easier?) Also if it has again any relevance to if you do too much indica/sativa/hybrid ?

Hello all! I am new to FC, just registered today although I've been lurking for a couple of months. There is a wealth of information here, I was so happy to find this place. It has helped me find and decide on a vaporizer. I had originally ordered an iolite original, but I am sending that back to gotvape.com (unused) and have a MFLB on the way instead. I really hope I made a good choice, after researching a ton and considering my budget it seems like the MFLB might be a good fit.

I have never vaporized before, I use medically and so I actually do not like the high that comes with smoking. It is uncomfortable for me when I smoke enough to get the relief I need for my medical issues, physically and otherwise. I am really hoping vaporizing will give me the effect I need and want.

Anyway, about me, I am female, 31, no kids, super duper dog lover! I train dogs for a living when I am well enough to work, and as a hobby when I'm not. I have 2 of my own dogs but there is always an extra dog or two present that I am either boarding or training. :) I am deaf, but I have cochlear implants. I primarily read lips and can speak very well, but I also sign some.

I am looking forward to participating in FC and getting to know everyone here, and most of all, learning and sharing!

Welcome Lily.. I'm sure you'll find this a great hangout and fun place to learn and share your experiences.
For portability the launch box seems to have the highest recommendations - I have one, I've yet to play around with it yet.
I know there's a bit of a learning curve with it and your weed should be dry and very finely ground but the rewards are there.
Let us know how it's working out for you when you get it....

welcome to FC lily, i think you will enjoy your stay here, theres a plethora of friendly and helpful people in this community :)

i think you made a smart decision by sending your iolite back and order an MFLB. having used both, i definitely prefer my launchbox, i find it much more enjoyable to use (the iolite's hits tasted of butane and burnt popcorn after only a few draws, whereas the MFLB delivers tasty and thick hits for most of the trench load).

there is a slight learning curve as Jeffp mentioned, but its pretty easy to get the hang of and i'm sure you will enjoy your launchbox as much as the rest of us do :D

Hello all I am newly registered although I have been lurking for a few months. I am a medical user for severe back pain from an accident that happened a few years ago. I would rather vaporizer and consumer ediables than take large doses of pain killers. I currently own a MFLB and Vaporbrothers dark coffee with the hydrator set up. I am still on the learning curve with the MFLB .. I look forward to learning and discussing things with you all here ! :)

Hello Everyone,

I decided to register after searching Google for vaporizer reviews and this is the only website worth a crap that kept popping up:lol:.

Everyone here seems awesome and I can't wait to get to know some of you! I will share my reviews on all of my vaporizers within a week or so.:peace:

Where y'all at? I've been steady reading threads in here for months, soaking up all the knowledge and experience y'all are sharing. I will take this opportunity to thank the FC community for this. The accumulated knowledge has saved me months reinventing the wheel (in learning how operate my weapons) and over 9,000 precious cannabis worth of trial and error research (instead, I got todo trial and success).

I found this place last year when I decided to make vapor my primary method cannabinoid goodness ingestion. Google kept sending me here and I've decided to sign-up and lurk a little less.

About this guy: I currently reside in Southern California, home of some fantastic herb. I love ganja. My arsenal consists of: a Volcano as my main armament and an Iolite as my side arm. My very favorite strains at the moment are Old SOG, Bubba Kush and Snow Cap. I'll spare y'all my Top-25 favorite strains; unless requested then I'll happily post it.

KushLover,
Hello to all, I am an M.D ( I don't practice anymore). new here and think this site is awesome! The information here is excellent and I look forward to adding to it. I had a stroke 2.8 years ago with damage to the left side of my brain effecting my speech, use of the right arm and right leg and constant pain in all the joints. I currently medicate twice a day with a SSV and non-med MJ. :) If you have any medical questions I will be glad to answer then with factual information.

Welcome Doc! Glad to have some medical frontman here among us! Medical infos are always very valuable, glad to hear that our beloved herb is helping you facing life problems, in my experience is not so easy finding some medicine doctor that is pro-mj, more rare is to find one that actually vaporizes it! At least...here where I live.

Hello Vaped MD,

Sorry about your stroke. Glad to know you found relief through MJ. I have ulcerative colitis and have found tremendous relief through MJ and my Vape (Purple-Days now).

Because I am so conscience of my insides with UC, I choose to vape because it seems to be lowest risk practical way to medicate when needed. However, I do wonder if you see any major health risks with vaping (cancer, other?). I really wish there was a large scale study on vaporization and health, but alas there is none that I have seen. I typically medicate every afternoon for both pain and appetite management.

Your professional medical opinion is appreciated!

ML

New here. Been vaping for almost a year now thanks to my Iolite. I'm hoping to add a MFLB and a PD soon, so I came here to get educated.

(this is long!)

Obviously, new member. Old school 80s stoner (currently a licensed medicinal marijuana user). Grew up believing joints, were a waste, pipes weren't much better and one-hitter, slow draw bong hits, were the ultimate in smoking pleasure. FF>> several years, even a 6 year Navy enlistment, back to civilian life... picked right back up on being a stoner. It was different this time, whereas before I was an everyday, heavy, heavy smoker... it was more sporadic in my late 20s, early 30s.

Then I just quit. Got a bit paranoid about being caught and with a family... couldn't afford that. Switched jobs, ended up driving big trucks, delivering gas/diesel and other petroleum products. Frequent tests and really not a job to be impaired in any way, just for coming home alive's sake.

Unknown to me at the time, I was hurtling towards a night that would forever changed my life and drastically shortened it. That night was 9/30/09. Most, I'm sure... have heard of John Ritter. He died not of a heart attack, but an Aortic Dissection. That night in September, an aneurysm no one was aware of, tore the inner wall of my aorta. It didn't stop tearing and tore all the way up both my carotid arteries, the entire ascending and descending portion, all the way to both kidneys. Repairing the entire aorta... is impossible. So 13 hours of emergency surgery later, I was left with a graft on a portion of the ascending and the rest... pretty much in internal tatters. As one Cardiovascular Neurosurgeon told me, "If you're asking me to fix you, I wouldn't even know where to start... there isn't any beginning (of the tear... its just ALL torn)."

Now I hope you don't have the sob story scenario playing in your head. I do feel like a miracle. Only 3% of people that have a dissection, survive. Granted it usually hits men in their 60s and 70s... not their 40s. But still... I shouldn't be here. I still am.

I did go through the stages of grief. However, I got stuck on the depression. Not only was I taking pharmaceuticals for my blood pressure, I was on anxiety medicine (Xanax) to. Then one day, I told my doctor I felt like I was dying (didn't want to), every day. From the time I went to bed, wondering if I would wake up... to waking up, wondering if I would make it through the day. I was prescribed Paxil. A year after my surgery and I was still experiencing daily pain... Tramadol! Sure I wasn't anxious, depressed or any sharp pains. But I wasn't really excited, happy about anything and the pain wasn't sharp anymore, but it was dull. Just kind of "being" in my existence.

So I started to look into the medicinal value of Marijuana. Wow, with all the new strains and science of it. Your choices back in the day (if you even had a choice), were typically either Sativa or Indica. Now there were hybrids, gene splicing strains to get desired effects. Wanted to experience the senses, feel alive... anxiety pretty much gone, pain still around, but not nearly as often or intense? You could probably find it. So I got the license. Tried a couple strains from a crap co-op and was unsatisfied. However, I noticed everyone gives away some sort of freebie for joining the co-op. Woot! Free stuff!! I try another one. This time, the guy knows what he's talking about. He takes the time, to hear my story. He shows me different strains. I settle on 2 grams each of 2 different Sativa dominant strains.

Woo Hoo! Now this is a change. I'm starting to move out of that depression zone. I'm going to bed... well, just plain tired, instead of nervous. I wake up in a good mood, I'm world's more active and I take joy in the big and the little things. Family takes on a whole new meaning and I find myself wanting to make a lasting, healthy (mentally. lol) and loving memories of me. I want my daughter to grow up, with all kinds of memories. I probably wont live much past her 16th birthday (she's 10)... but I want to leave her enough, to last her a lifetime of fond smiles. Getting through to my wife is different. She doesn't agree with the alternate medical treatment and doesn't ever want to discuss my medical or mental condition, on a whole. All is not lost with her, however. I do see the difference in her overall mood. I'm helping her heal also.

So...

To make this excruciatingly story a little longer, but a little shorter...

I finally discovered Vaping this week. I decided to start small and got a VG Bat. Took me 3 wasted (wasteful) bowls of exquisite medicine, before I hit that sweet spot. I hit it hard and fast and overwhelmingly. WHAM! My head exploded into a cerebral zone unsurpassed. My body felt, energized and nerve endings were in tune. Senses on alert.

How do you all come into this? During my reading/education on Vaporizers. I lurked here a lot. The knowledge was awesome and the atmosphere informative and friendly. I hope I can be a contributing member.

But thank you all, for making my transition a much smoother and enjoyable journey.

Great first post mate! I'm very sorry for what happened, but I think you are on the right track! I'm so glad you found relief in mj, and the further you enter vaporization realms, the more you'll enjoy them. I bet you'll start treating yourself with edibles/candies/concentrates too! I think that would take you to a whole new level. Keep it up, never surrender and good luck with your family and life, you deserve to be happy, no matter what happened.
Welcome on the smartest and deepest "things that make life better" community!

"Wow, that was a great read. Nice touching writing, and the title [which was 'holy s*&%t!'] didn't give it away!

Sorry to hear of your poor health, it's certainly not a 'sob story'. But glad that you've been able to find some help from MJ

BigDaddy, welcome to the forum! You've had quite a life struggle and I'm glad to hear that things are starting to turn around for you with herb. I'm also glad that you've discovered vaping. Maybe the difference in smell, etc. will help in winning over your wife. Also the difference in high. When vaping, I find one is much more engaged in the "now" than when smoking.

In any case, welcome! And happy vaping. :D
