Thanks everyone for your reviews, questions, and insights. I had to pull the trigger though I said that I would wait a bit to make sure it didn’t lemon out. The price is great and I’m so bored right now it’s worth $55 just to have the excitement of something to look forward to arriving in the mail. Ultimately, like @Jill NYC said it was the well known members contributions in this thread that guided my decision. Thank y’all again. I hope all are safe and well.

So I tried session mode, and on green I was getting a lot of scorch bits. I thought it was just from packing too tight, but even with only a little bit loosely loaded... I was basically just using the session mode to take one longer hit without holding the button down (never the full 30 seconds). I will have to test more, but it seems like maybe the temp rises too much?
Much easier to control in on demand mode for me, I can ride green and maintain a lower temp extraction, with less time on the trigger for more even avb. Still better to load light and loose, stirring might be beneficial, but the bowl is so small that it just doesn't make sense to bother imo... For those keeping track these were with some nice beyond blue dream herbs!

Do you honestly think you're going to get an answer that would be yes? So subjective, but this is brand new so longevity is untested I think... I also don't know why the choice is only China and German, but the countries themselves aren't necessarily the issue... It sounds like you've just had some poor luck repeatedly, but I don't think you should expect too much of a warranty from something this cheap? Unless it were to arrive defective, I'm not sure what else would happen and it is easy to buy a new one.
Haha, so funny, fuck the German shit and all their aluminium problems, stick to decent resellers and if you keep having bad luck, they will look after you with any warranty problems.

Just what would you suggest? Do you know of a cheaper option? This seems a very common complaint. The only solution that seems to work is to have a local dealer.

Well all my order from USA are between 13-22$ max, i would like something fair for a little package^^ if i want to buy directly from Vivant, i had already bought a thing from Vivant website last year and this cost me a lot of less than 20$.... I bet the best option is to wait for local retailer or EU retailer....

Yep! Like I said a common issue. For sure Vleaf (nor any other seller) isn't trying to limit their business by not using the cheapest shipping possible. They are happy to take your money?
Works the other way too, you know. A while back I wanted to buy a ten pound item from the UK. They wanted 15 pounds shipping (normal for them to the US) so I ordered 3 to help spread the cost......so they sent me 3 packages and charged my card seventy five......
I'm sure if you can point them to a cheaper way to ship they'd jump on it and give you a big thank you? You might even register as a Dealer there and save others and make a bit of money?

Yeah, this is the one thing that troubles me. Not a deal killer but a bother, especially when out. It may help cool but it is annoying and needs updating.
Only time will tell how durable it is. That they include some replacement parts should help with that.

Just ordered it! I would like a quick hit while out hiking. I use the 3Ws approach for my old man fitness outings: walk, water, and weed.
On a more serious note: how does this compare to the grasshopper? Seems like a similar concept but I lack a lot of knowledge to make such an assertion with much confidence. Those with both care to comment?

I haven't used a Grasshopper, I passed on that can of worms, but it starts at $225 so it isn't really in the same class of vapes. The Splinter is closer in price (tho still more) but you have to add a mod which doubles the price.
I don't feel like any battery vape I have tried so far in the same price class is as good as the Go. Then again there isn't that much available at this price point.

Yes the price class is real, GH has higher quality materials, full temp control, among many other things. Likewise Splinter is totally different with glass stems and wood body, plus separate mod for power... These all use pure convection on demand, but imo none of them are very comparable, totally different price classes as Summer said. Maybe starting an ask FC thread to compare the Go to other pure convection on demand vapes can get into more details head to head, but here it just doesn't make sense...

Too light to be steel, must be aluminum. The intake air holes are right under the bowl, so no electronics in the path.
I noticed that up the thread @DDave has created a replacement for that part. I don't know whether it works better or is just meant as a replacement if you lose yours...

Sorry, I too passed on GH years ago back when they took peoples money with claims of impossible battery performance. Impossible, they didn't come even close. It was clear to me then that they 'had issues' and had probably not even produced a working prototype, let alone pilot run of a complete design. In over there heads.
In retrospect, one thing we can say is different is the Go works as advertised out of the box. 'Every time'. Rather than becoming a 'hanger queen' on a year or more RMA in the hopes of eventually getting 'one of the good ones' (that actually work).
Then again, I'm naturally shy of 'advanced sales', even if the proposed product is technically possible and the maker proven to know how to produce, market, and support real products. Good products should selll themselves?
Based on weight, I suspect Aluminum. But then again, it's thin walled, could be SS. IMO Aluminum would be a better material for the job (heat up and cool faster, using less heat for the same size).
The air is definitely isolated from the electronics, although IMO there is no such thing as 'dangerous electronic vapors'. Not in vapes, nor in the TVs, cell phones, monitors and such stuff in our everyday life. If it was a real threat to health it would be quantified and tested for?
Not to worry, there's a solid floor under the heater where air is 100% blocked. You can see it clearly if you remove the heater.....or you can just blow down on it and confirm for yourself like I did? No leaks.

IMO, they are not comparable. The GH is a far superior vape, IMO, when operating as intended. We all know about GH reliability issues, which hopefully will be cleared up with the IO. We know absolutely nothing about GO long term reliability at this early point in time.
Aluminum and as pointed out, the air intake ports are on the side right below the oven so doubtful they are passing over electronics.

Well, I think one would have to intentionally try very hard to match Hopper's past poor performance on reliability and CS. But the results are not yet in on this $70 vape's reliability, I believe

Thinking of getting this one for my wife. She uses the Mighty and loves the non-existent draw restriction and relatively cool vapor. However, she drives me crazy by spreading a session over 1/2 hour or so. She forgets to move the temp up (or down) a degree to stop the automatic shutoff. Constantly having to press the on button throughout the lengthy session. I'm thinking a on-demand vaporizer might be better for her. She refuses to try my Splinter because she doesn't want to "fool" with it. With the lack of space between the heater and the mouthpiece I'm wondering if the vapor of the GO will be too hot for her liking.

Correct, I think the vapor will not be as pleasant for her unfortunately, curious how she will like your other two new vapes when they arrive...
