Woooohooooo! I just got my shipment notification....My Tornado T-Stem should be home sweet home in a few days or less....and then I'm gonna have a Stock stem heat shield that is made from purple heart wood....holes and all looks just like the metal...but wood.

Did you get the heat shield from Dovetail Woodworks?

I did!! He lives about 10 minutes from me...hes a buddy of mine..his name is Tim.

To be fair, I think the shipping times and costs are just how life and business works. Just like the US and Canadian users get a hit ordering something like the Tempest or TA from the UK. We can't fairly expect special treatment - it rankles, and even more when hit by customs for an extra £50 or so, but we know what to expect on that side and can make a fair decision.

My bitching is to do with entering into a contract, paid up front, based on information that's seems to be either incorrect or has changed, but we've had no notice despite an email to all outstanding customers being a 10 min task (or thereabouts). This is what I find hard to understand - it takes so little effort and time to keep people updated, and yet goes such a long way to improving the experience.

I'm sure that when it arrives I'll be happy as anything and quick to forget this, until the next time I consider ordering from them. estratto has always lived up to their end of the deal in my book/story/scenario..

I'm not trying to judge the company, I know small companies have a tough time balancing everything, not an easy task!
It's just this issue of information about changes to what was expected that's frustrating, and we tend to imagine the worse (without any evidence) simply because of nothing else to say otherwise.

None of this is new. There were the same out of order shipping and communication issues with the Anvil.

Teeth duly gritted! But if it weren't for that ruddy Einstein guy, I'm sure time wouldn't be slowing down drastically! 😉

Bro....we be neighbors! I live one mile from Sams Club. Frequently fish and walk a few parks in Oak Ridge and Clinton area and Concord also.

I have had 5-6 interactions with Vestratto since he started selling the Founders Units on day one. Always got back to me in a timely manner and with respect as I was asking stupid questions at times.
They are a small company. I can see them getting bombarded by the same stupid emails over and over.
Then to read the threads here and the toxic level a few folks bring...I am not sure if I were John I would want to be involved in messaging on forums where my company was being attacked.
I do wish he would start using The Vestratto Sunday Post again.

I have so much respect and appreciation for the engineering that John brings to the table.
