Very best 510 battery?

Hey FCers! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, lol.
Anyway, I lost my Yocan Uni and I’m looking for a new battery. I liked the Uni, it was a tank and didn’t need much fussing with. Now, I’d like something better ;)
I’m pretty much looking for a high end battery that is rugged and stylish. I’ve looked at the Zeus Ion, the CCell unit with the charging dock, DaVinci Aritiq, and many more. I’m not concerned about price, I just want something awesome!
Any suggestions?

I'd recommend going to the other direction if you're looking for rugged and minimal fuss. The Yocan Kodo is like a slimmed down Uni and they're inexpensive, simple, and can go as low as 1.8v. I use them exclusively now and gifted them to all of my friends who use carts.

I’m now looking at Compass Rise…

I guess this site (or at least this forum) is not as active as I remember it in the past. Guess I’ll just buy the Rise and see how it goes.

Well these threads for 510 batteries were never popular I would argue? There are others, most people just grab whatever, or yocan as you see... Report back on what you get if you want to keep more going, but yeah it's not something I've ever found much point in investing much money in personally... Had no idea that DaVinci offered one, yeah you'd think it would be best to have one high-end

I'm not sure what a supposed high end battery would give me that a well featured low priced battery wouldn't? Maybe you do. As long as it has variable voltage I'm not sure what else I would want. I have a Yocan UNI Pro and Kodo Pro and would recommend the latter for $15. Since money is no object, go for the gold.

Well, I’ve used plenty of $5 pen batteries, mid range plastic boxes, and a Uni. I spent more on the Uni, but it was a metal box, rugged, and nice feeling. Sure a cheaper battery does the same thing, but Id like something that will last a long time, not clog my carts or burn, have a good voltage range, and look cool/feel good in my hand.
also, I’m a gadget guy, so I love my Puffco and old school Cloud. Now I’d like something cool for my car!

Now I’d like something cool for my car!

The “coolest” one I own is:

Both button & auto draw. There are 5 preset temps, all very usable.
Good luck!

I specifically said variable voltage as a requirement. Some pens would have that, but not what I was referring to. The internet.

Well the OP didn’t specify VV as a requirement.
I mostly use the UNI-Pro, as well as the tiny YOCAN Koda Pro, both with VV and shows the ohms of the cart. However the PKCT’s (5) presets cover the range of carts I’ve used, and the lowest preset is approximately 2.0 volts, so it covers the low end. I don’t like that it requires using cart (adapters), unlike the plastic ones I mentioned with direct 510 threads.

Wow, I hadn’t seen that one yet. It’s friggen beautiful!

The DaVinci one looks fancy but I don't see it's going to offer much in functionality over the much cheaper Kodo offerings. They do the job and at this point the main reason why I want a cart system is to have an easy way to share with people when I'm out at gigs/parties.

There's no way I'm handing them my Glow and they don't combust 🤣 and/or get no vapour.

But now I've got my Quest Lightning running on TC, I'm going to try use that more. The only reason I've not already is because I need a new mouthpiece that doesn't get hot quite as quickly as the current one.

Edit - both the Davinci Artiq and the Compass Rise both have fixed voltage to choose from. The significantly cheaper Kodo that I have gives me much more control.

So, for those interested… I went with the Vessel. I got the bundle which is the unit, a case, and a charging dock. The vape itself is exactly what I was looking for. It’s simple to use, variable settings, low settings, warm up, and screw in 510. It heavy, feels great in your hand, and just beautiful. The case is great, and the charger is metal and also built great. I like it so much that I also picked up their Pipe bundle, with a case, metal stash thing, and a lighter. I don’t even combust, but had to buy it at a discount and two free lighters!

Interesting! In case i can add to convo at all. I have a vessel Compass, I've had it like 10 years nearly and it's coming time to possible shop, some led's are not lighting up but it works otherwise fine. But I'm looking at the ccell Fino battery or Caligo Reakt, I was little nervous about ordering direct from the caligo website. I really want digit control over voltage but I'm not a big fan of the uno or yokan. Edited: oh wow just realized what the Rise is. I haven't been in market. lol ty

Have one of these, black on black:

Zeus Ion? Heavy duty and long life. I got tired of these carts leaking and gave up on this, rosin/expensive ones are better I heard.

Good luck.

The compass is double the price of the Kodo offerings and is restricted to 4 settings for voltage 2.4V, 2.8V, 3.2V, 3.6V. Doesn't seem like a great deal, but I agree it looks nicer.

I haven't used carts in a while, but I have both a PCKT Two and a Hamilton Devices Shiv. They're both great devices if you're not using cheap carts. I liked the PCKT Two because of the auto draw (no button press), and the magnetic adapter is convenient. The Shiv is heavier, but I really like the fit and finish and the fact that it fully hides the cart. Plus the switchblade mechanism makes it more fun.

Declaring the "best 510 battery" is about as meaningless as declaring your favorite toothpick.

You can get a 14k gold toothpick for $700+ but it won't perform any better than any other toothpick.

Yea it fits in the hand or pocket perfectly and feels good especially since it has a bigger button

I got tired of the short battery life of newer products like the Uni Pro and Kodo pro. Now I use one of my super old model box mods with a single removable 18650 Molicel P28A 2800mAh battery; the type of mod that fires up to 80 watts or whatever because they were used with a sub ohm ejuice tank fulll of liquid nicotine screwed directly into the 510 connector. I use a small, compact Aspire NX75 75 watt mod that I bought in 2014 sometimes. It has a full variable voltage mode that goes all the way down to 0 volts and increases by .1 up to 8 volts. It also has ‘Customizable Firing Button Profiles’ (CFBP) by creating a power curve, which is displayed on the screen, and set different wattages to kick in at specific times during a hit of up to 20 seconds. This thing was so far ahead of its time it’s ridiculous. I have a couple of them but one is worn AF from using it as a cigarette replacement all day for years. I also use a much newer Eleaf iStick Pico 2 75 watt mod that is equally as compact as the Aspire NX75 and feels better in the hand and is more aesthetically pleasing to me. It does not have a fully dedicated variable voltage mode but is able to display the voltage based on the wattage right on the screen under the wattage, which goes down to 1 watt. So with the Pico 2 I’m able to use variable voltage down to 1.24v that increases to 1.42v, then 1.75, 1.95, 2.15, 2.32, 2.47, 2.63….you get the picture. I can only see the voltage change as I change the watts, but it works. I’ve got a couple dozen Molicel batteries that I keep charged at all times by using a nitecore digital four port battery charger. These are the only two mods that I can find that give me these options for going so low with the voltage as some carts don’t need 2 volts and are better with flavor, consumption control and getting the full effects from a rosin cart etc. I decided that if i was going to be moving toward less dry herb and more prefilled cartridges I should do it to an extreme level. I also don’t mind using something that’s heavy enough to throw at somebody and literally have the potential to kill them since these mods with such a big battery in them weigh 30x as much as a Yocan uni or Kodo pro. They’re also solid AF.
