I guess you have managed that by now, but here's how I do it: I unscrew the two wires that are attached to the heating coil from the transformer (which I unscrew from the wooden plate it's on) and draw the red cable out of the glass tube. So after I remove the silicone ring from the top of the tube, I just lift the heating coil out of the inner tube, when they are still attached to the red cable. The silicon ring clamps the two cables into the two tiny notches on top of the large tube, and once the ring is off, the two cables are loose. This way I don't have to solder anything.
Btw: After more than 10 years of use, De Verdamper is still one of the most impressive vaporizers I know. It can be used by dozens of people, for hours, without hassle, without noise, without learning curve what-so-ever. It's not the dinosaur among vaporizers, it's friggin' Godzilla!
