I know that right now on the checkout page the price with a Venus/3 bulbs/ X-tra herb chamber comes to around $355 USD. A little out of my price range so I was hoping that without the VAT and maybe other charges I would be able to afford one.
I'm on disability so I have a very low income, and at the moment every penny saved helps greatly also I doubt I will ever find a used Venus Vaporizer like I have other vaporizers I have wanted to try.

I guess it's only fair play that you all on the other side of the pond have easy and cheaper access to a Gem of a vaporizer for a change, instead of always having to import from the US and Canada.

While you're around i'd like to ask if modifications of the various air paths can be discussed with the hope that this could prove useful in some eventual future revisions, ultimately. Halogen heat inspires me a few more ideas and i'd like to think someday soon the Venus may take advantage of some opportunities emerging ahead...

Paypal payment gateway should allow credit card payment, just choose paypal payment, and then when it goes to their site, choose: Pay with my credit or debit card and they even have american express logo there so I think it should work.

well, I have never shipped anything to India but in theory it should not be a problem. And the parts in our vaporizer are not easily damaged! It can take quite a lot of abuse. Even the glass top, it is made of thick glass and doesn't break too easily, and I think also in India if anytime You happen to break the glass, you can find a replacement glass from most supermarkets as the standard types will fit, at least here in Europe. And just to be sure, I've only once broken one glass, when I was camping and dropped it accidentally on the rocks 2 meter below me, and even then it was fixable with superglue easily

Some questions for you lucky few; What is the intended way to use this? Do you just hit the boost and inhale or is it set it and forget it? What is an approximate temperature at it's highest? Does/will it combust as in catch fire? Is it better to pre-heat then add the bowl? I'm on the edge of buying but need some details answered. Thanks!

I've done it as instructed in the included quickstart booklet. I pack the bowl (full bowl is about 0.3g, not packed too tight to allow airflow), put it on the heating element, lock the glass dome in place and heat it up. I usually start with the power dial at around 12 o'clock (lower temp better for savoring the flavor) and raise it to around 1 o'clock for most of the session and then to 2 o'clock to cash out the last puffs.

Holding down the Boost button essentially puts it on full blast while also illuminating the vapor in the dome. It's not "set it and forget it", because you actually have to press Boost every once in a while (I forget, maybe once every 3min) or the vape will power itself off. I don't necessarily use the boost on every draw 'cause the vapor production is so good, but it's nice to see it dance in the LED light .

I've managed to burn my herb once with the Venus, but as long as you keep the power dial at no higher than 70% and don't go crazy on the boost, it's very unlikely. You'll notice from the taste/density anyway when the bowl is tapped out. But if you keep the vape on full power all the time (not recommended) you can burn your bud.

well you actually can keep a setting you like by starting the unit with the boost button and not by turning the knob. (i have it set to 75%) However, I think a mark on the knob would make it more easy to change the temperature during a session, so I simply keep the one that works best for me and play around with the boost button instead.

i do it exactly like i've described it in my review. i hit the boost button before i start to inhale, but just for 2 seconds. That's absolutely enough to produce more vapor than i can inhale at once.
for bubbler hits i hold it a little longer.

okay I think I am getting a better perspective. I love the fact of high heat capabilities.

So load a bowl, put it in, put globe on, preheat at dial setting or is it preheating at max? Then hit boost for a few seconds and breathe in and enjoy? Sounds pretty basic, do you use a pad for concentrates?

I plan to use this through a bubbler or my pinnacle WT.

I'm going to go for it. Let's see how long it will take to get to NorCal.

Look forward to a review @meduser#420, I've been interested in this for a while But couldn't talk myself into it without knowing a bit more about it as it's a bit over my budget.
One thing I'd like to see is the ability to turn the boost light display off so it's a bit less obvious at night, I'm sure it is cool to watch the vapor build up but the light show is a little to much for me as it would raise a question or two.

no, it heats to the max first BUT you can set that yourself, too.
you simply hold the boost button when charging until the vapor flows the way you like it (don't worry you can SEE it, the LED will show it cleary). now release the button and this is your new warm up setting

the venus is very easy to handle, because you can use your eyes as well to know when it's the right time to inhale.

bubbler is better i think, the venus can handle a little higher volume

Yeah no doubt. I vape 90% of the time on a patio so three sides are open and although there is a little privacy a flashing red, white or blue light wouldn't work out. One reason I had an easy time passing on my HA even though I loved how it worked for me was that Lightshow from the bottom so a glowing or flashing glass globe won't do at all.

I do remember reading you could get one with out the boost lights, But I can't find that post now.

You can turn off the Venus in three different ways

1) Turn the power dial to zero, it will power off in a few seconds
2) Press Boost three times in quick succession
3) Leave it be, if you don't press boost in a while (2-3 minutes, I'm not sure, haven't taken time) it will power itself off when idle for too long

Whoops, sorry about that, dude. Had a half-day at work and I've been medicating pretty hard since I got home .

i think yu can also spray-paint a glass and exchange the whip with a black one or something, but that's the do it yourself method

It seems to me the manufacturer doesn't want to discuss user-moddification matters in this public thread with Egzoset as an interlocutor, though i'm not sure which of the forum environment or myself might happen to cause this apparent decision to remain silent about what i've tagged "the various air paths". It even possible there's just no time...

Hello Everyone!
This is my first post on this forum and I'd like to thank all of the contributors for such great information and personal accounts.

After some research I decided to give the Venus a go. The simplicity of the unit itself and the reported high quality output made it the obvious choice: A transportable high quality low maintenance whip unit.

Since receiving I haven't been able to get it working is I expected. For comparisons I have a Pax and a Vapormax ( haha yes I know I went for the hype - no regrets!).


Now, I just simply must be doing it wrong?!

After unpacking, I did an initial five-minute burn-off and then went ahead for the first session.
I got really excited watching the vapor-production inside the bowl, but on my end of the whip it was a plastic and wood taste with only a hint of herb. No clouds. Did experiment on different temp settings and ended up with a really dark AVB at some point, but I really hit that boost button hard because I wasn't feelin' it.

I got in touch with Ville, the Manufacturer, and told him about my suspicions about the silicone tube not going all the way in where it should .This would explain the plastic-wood taste and missing out of clouds I thought.

He confirmed that this is kind of a tricky thing but with a twisting motion the tube slide into the wooden path a little further, which would be sufficient for proper vapor-channeling.

Indeed I was able to put the tube in a little further, just so it goes through the electronics board and into the wooden path.
Mounted another chamber on the light and waited for the flash. Hit the boost for about 2-3 seconds and witnessed great-looking vapor but again, nothing but whispers on my side.
Tried different ways to inhale, eg. long and steady and short rips but it really had no effect on my side.


Maybe I have wrong impressions and expectations about this thing, but reading reviews around here and other places on the web it seemed that it should at least be on par with the PAX, minus cleaning.
All I got so far was a gross plastic/wood/herb taste with a whisper of a cloud. But there's dense vapor-production inside the glass bowl, it just doesn't seem to come through the whip. Even the Vapormax delivers better taste and clouds at this point, but I am pretty sure that something is incorrect about the way I use the Venus or the unit itself.

Has anyone experienced similar things and knows how to treat the Venus right?

Yes, tons of vapor, at least from my (proverbial) perspective it looks like the proper amount which would generate great clouds on exhale but I have never seen a "live" working Venus so the only visual comparison is from the videos on youtube. Also the AVB was definitely used, and the herb chamber too hot to touch for a couple of minutes. I don't think the error is on the vapor-production side. I'll do some more experimenting I guess since your reply makes me feel optimistic to get better results once it or me is operating properly.

Edit: - no hole in the tube, ran water through it before using and would have noticed any leaks

It might be that the 5-minute oil burnoff wasn't enough, and what you're seeing is vapor (from the assembly oil) and what you're tasting is definitely not bud. Very possible, when I got the Venus it took almost 15min to burn off all visible assembly oil vapor...
