VAULT SE Battery

This is some hard work! You can't just take hit after hit on these carts like that. Thank goodness the Vault SE has that lower voltage to smooth it out. I'm starting to get the "vape sweats". :o :lmao:

Not quite ready to do a review yet. Got some battery life work to do but I like the look, feel and functionality. Especially in comparison to the junk I run into at the local vape shops.

Old & In the Way
Well mine just arrived and the artwork I requested looks great!
I've not had much chance to try it just one quick hit I could grab with a live resin cart and I did it on the low setting. Quite mellow I really liked it
Of course I'll have to write more and get a picture up within a couple of days. Thanks, Vivant!

What is the voltage range on the Vault SE?
Looking for the lowest voltage you can run it at
Thanks

Unfortunately it does not have a very low, low setting, I let them know I think it should be more like 2v if not lower, and the high setting could probably be 4v? I don't know I never use high settings lol milk the lows!

I didn't know they were sending them out with custom artwork. Those look pretty sick so far.

I feel like a fool just getting my name etched on mine 🤣 I could have gone all out!

Great device thus far. I’m testing now to see how long it lasts in ‘standby’ (not turning it completely off between sessions).

Some sort of battery indicator would be nice, even if it was just a series of blinking lights if you hit the button 3 times, for example.

Two settings. RED= 2.6V and GREEN=3.5V

That’s always going to be an issue if you only offer TWO power settings. Some carts are better at low, some need high. These two presets aren’t bad considering, and you’ll never please everyone’s preferences. But the flask body is cute. I still reach for the UNI Pro with full range control and ohm readout.

That’s my review, since other then power settings and device ergonomics, there isn’t much else to comment on, a simple cart battery. So thanks Vivant!

I will also be reaching for my UNI Pro when I’m at home.

I’m curious how the price of the Vault SE will compare to a premium 510 battery like the UNI Pro ($39.99). The Vault SE needs to be $20 or less in my opinion. $19.99 feels about right but $25 in todays economic climate seems reasonable. It will be a hard sell otherwise when the UNI Pro exists (unless prioritizing portability).

The Vault SE will certainly be replacing my CCELL Palm and CCELL Silo for ‘on the go’ cartridge use.

The USB-C is a real selling point for any tech enthusiasts (myself included). I am so close to retiring all Micro-USB devices in my life

Couldn't agree more. Every "simple adjustable" 510 battery I own would benefit from a 2V setting. In many cases I have to feather the power somehow to try and lower the harshness.

Last weekend I visited 5 to 6 vape shops looking to replace what at the time was my best simple, adjustable 510 battery. Not one of the replacements I looked at went below 3.3V. To be clear the 510 batteries I'm talking about are inexpensive twist adjustable that run around $20. Many of my 510 batteries don't even feel like the adjustable voltage is actually working.

I was able to hit the Vault SE (lowest setting) by letting some air sneak in through the side of my mouth during the draw. The draw wasn't clogged/restricted as much as my other 510s ..... least harsh hit I think I've ever had on a 510. The cart wasn't new and was a little restricted on the 510 battery I took it from. More testing is required to see if the cart gets clogged again.

Some of the 510s I ran into last weekend had a "pre-heat" mode. I don't know if the Vault SE has a pre-heat mode but I did notice the LED for H/L light up and blink after turning it on and holding down the power button for a second or two. When I held the button down....The way the LEDs blinked reminded me of some kind of on-demand mode but being draw activated wouldn't warrant that.

Summary: The week before receiving the Vault SE I visited 5 to 6 vape shops looking for an inexpensive adjustable 510 vape after my favorite at the time stopped working. Nice timing as it put me in a position to compare the Vault SE to other inexpensive adjustable 510s.

The Vault SE is a nice step up in quality compared to the similar vapes available at my local vape shops. The Vault SE feels a little heavier, more substantial. The fit and finish is decent. I like the black finish and the curvature of the unit. Unfortunately I missed my opportunity to have a custom logo applied. At this time there is a test web page for logo submission that doesn't look to be working yet.

Functionality: The Vault SE is a simple device that once turned on is "draw activated". I like not having to press a button to take a hit. It only has two voltages-> (H)igh = 3.5V, (L)ow = 2.6V). Not one of the inexpensive variable vapes I found at the vape shops went lower than 3.3V so the 2.6V low end on the Vault SE was a nice surprise. I would have liked more voltage selections but I'm good with the high end voltage because all my other adjustable 510s are used at their lowest voltage which is 3.3V so I expect I'll be keeping the Vault SE at the 2.6V low end anyway. If I do have to use the high end its pretty much the same as I'm using now.

I'm not a big fan of 510 magnetic attachments. I tend to loose them and weak magnets limit pocket-ability because they may come off. The Vault SE comes with two magnets so losing one wouldn't be a show stopper. Each allows for a different mouthpiece height. I prefer the large magnet for now because all my carts are smaller .5g versions and I prefer more mouthpiece height. The Vault's magnets are strong so I'd feel comfortable putting a loaded Vault SE in my pocket but I would suggest using the smaller magnet if you're worried about the bigger version possibly coming loose. From a pocket-ability standpoint I much prefer the Vault SE versus my pen style 510 batteries.

Carts can have different oil viscosities and sizes so you might use a different sized magnet and set a different voltage. Once you're happy with the magnet and voltage the Vault SE use is a simple as turning it on and taking a draw. No buttons to hold.

Stealth wise its definitely palm-able.

Many of my 510 vapes get clogged and I run into the dreaded sucking a bowling ball through a straw syndrome. My understanding is that "pre-heat" mode in some of the vapes I've run into tries to solve the clogging. I had a cart in one of my other vapes that was half full and was slightly clogged. When I used that cart with the Vault SE it didn't clog AND the draw restriction was low enough to where I could hit it while allowing air to sneak in around my mouth. Was one the smoothest hits on a cart I've had in awhile. None of my other 510 batteries and/or carts have such low draw restriction that I can aerate using my mouth like that let alone at 2.6V. I'm going to hedge my bet on this aspect and see if it holds up.

Vault SE Questions:
- Anyone know what size battery it uses?
- Anyone got info on battery life? I'm still trying to work on battery life but its going to take awhile as carts aren't my usual daily drivers and are typically reserved for nightcaps. I'm trying though :brow:
- Anyone know whether it has a "pre-heat" function? Once turned on you can press the button and the LED will blink. It reminds me of on-demand mode but it could be pre-heat mode? I'm leaning toward Pre-heat vs. On-demand since its draw activated but we'll have to get some answers to be sure.

The Vault SE is available for pre-order. The price is $29.99 -

Thanks for the review! However, it‘s not ready to pre-order now. We have not shown the page. 😂
The vault se may be released in the middle of this month and will tell members here when it's ready!😁

Oops....sorry. I saw the web page for the pre-order and the test page for the logo when I was looking for some info on the battery and thought I should include them in the review. I see that the link no longer works.

Just got back in town from vacation and had the Vault waiting for me. I need to get some more carts for a proper review but first impressions after a couple days with it…

I like the look, very sleek and has a nice feel to the finish. It doesn’t even look like 510. The magnets are nice and strong and will not fly out accidentally. Very nice having 2 sizes for the magnets, this is a new standard imo. I’m sure most like the usb-c charging, but this my only usb-c device I own lol.

Some things I don’t like…

The device is a little awkward to hold! With the button being on top, my fingers touch my face and mouth when drawing (using the tall magnet helps this a little). I found some positions more comfortable to hold, but I feel like the button should be in a natural spot where you hold the device. It’s not too bad when using a Dabcap having the device upside down though.
Another little gripe is having the lowest temp red colored and the highest temp green. Red should always be the hottest imo. I do like only double clicking to switch temps and it would be nice to shut off the device with 3 clicks instead of 5.

Kudos to Viviant for sending out samples! It’s a very stealthy nice looking 510.

Yeah I also had no idea it was auto draw, made for an unpleasant first use when I couldn't figure out how to get it to stop heating, an example of why I do not like auto draw cartridge batteries at all... Especially with the high temp settings on this, I'm not sure I will have any situation to use it, maybe if I had a really thick oil cartridge, but it's been a while since... I just only got raw garden in my pickup, I don't really want to use them at that high of a setting, with auto draw unable to shut off the heat and clear... I like the look and style of the Vault SE, but it doesn't seem to have much practical use for me now so there's not much I can say:shrug:

Thank you @Vivant. So the button is a pre heat too?

I’m enjoying mine…novice usage on my part, but really makes grocery store shopping much more interesting lol. And is soooo pocketable and discreet.

Not really used enough of these batteries to request a lower setting. I will say though that the low is plenty for the GG4 Live resin loaded currently loaded. My only other experience has been using a pod system on the lowest setting too.

I do have one minor callout. The cutout window on mine is sharp. A fidgety type of person may find a slice to the finger rubbing on this flask beauty.

Got mine today. Graphic work is great hitting a live resin cart on the low setting hits amazing and tastes great.

I'm not a pro on carts but my live resin cart is thicker than ur normal one and it fit snuggly.

Got mine today as well. I don't have any carts atm but will test it first chance I can. That said,

The reaper is my GTA crew's logo, nerdy I know lol but I haven't had anything customized before so I felt it necessary to use something I take pride in, and that's the first thing that came to mind (that was usable lol i mean, portraits coulda been interesting lol). I'm 35 and have been a gamer my whole life lol

Thank you @Vivant for this cool little device!

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
well I got my unit the other day, they apparently couldn't do my avatar so they went with my back up choice..... or at least half of it???? the cutout is a bit sharp but other than that build quality seems fine. mine was however all ready switched on when I opened it so I guess they are good to go out the gate lol. I'll eco some of the others who asked for a lower setting but I don't want it too much lower and the high is ok for me but really I think the battery should have low, med and high settings for more options for different users. I enjoy taking quite a few hits on low then when I got a good baseline high I switch to high for my kicker hits to put me over the edge....... and that's as far as I got with my review?!?!? yeah, I don't have it anymore........... my own dam mother took it off me! likes it better than her Dynavap......... even took it to her hoodlum friends friends house where she's playing cards to all hours of the morning. elderly parents  am I right folks? well if I can pry it away from her I try and get some more testing done, sorry @Vivant I'm a bad beta tester:disgust:.

........ and that was a damn brand new cart.......... man........:dog:
