But we truly need your help guys n gals. On Monday there is a Bill that will be voted on by congress. It passed unanimously in the Senate and gets sent to the House of Reps on Monday. The Bill is S.1253

This Bill will BAN vapes from shipping through USPS. Only UPS, and FedEx will be able to be used.

You can read more about the Bill HERE and take action HERE

What does this mean for small businesses?

Small Businesses like artisan vape manufacturers will no longer be able to use USPS, and will have to register as a business in all 50 states. This costs TIME, and MONEY. Two things artisan vapes generally don't have.

Companies we love will not be able to do this. This could mean the end to their businesses. The end of you being able to purchase their vaporizers.

What does this mean for YOU?

It means that vapes will be more expensive due to shipping. FedEx and UPS are usually double or triple the cost of USPS, and often slower as well.

If you live in a rural area, you will not be able to purchase vapes through the mail anymore. UPS and FedEx hand off mail to USPS in rural areas. If this bill goes into effect, this can no longer happen.

How can you help?

Call your representatives! Email them too! Don't be a Karen. Be civil, and nice. Let them know that you oppose the bill, and why you do. Tell them your story. Help their interns connect with you and fight for your rights. They are there to represent you.

Tell your friends! Ask them to kindly email and call your local reps, and share their stories.

We aren't going to shill on this email. Please go out and share your stories with your local reps, lets make change happen. We only have this weekend to change history.

Okay, thanks for letting us know about the bill and making it easy to respond; my representative got his letter.

The bill says.

“(C) does not include a product that is—
“(i) approved by the Food and Drug Administration for—
“(I) sale as a tobacco cessation product; or
“(II) any other therapeutic purpose; and
“(ii) marketed and sold solely for a purpose described in clause (i).”; and

Seems like it's only targeted towards e-cigs. A weed vape for medical marijuana would be for therapeutic purpose.

Edit: oh seems like it would have to be approved by the fda for therapeutic purpose too.

Cant wait till the day these fucks roast in hell

Nanny state bastards, ban this ban that... Meanwhile the US Postal Service could not be more poorly run, billions over budget and they want less customers?! Anyway, I signed the petition.

It's not the USPS. It's our stupid politicians. And the USPS is "over budget" because our stupid politicians force them to fund their pensions 70 years into the future. Which is insane.

Your conflict is with Congress more than the USPS.

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
This will put a crimp on any USA to Canada orders I had been planning. International shipping is expensive enough as it is so much so that I typically try and get someone to go in on the order with me. There have been things I just haven't been able to find anywhere else and there are still things I want to get. It's such a stupid thing to be doing at such a bizarre time 😡 :cuss: 😤😵😖 totally 🚽💩

I always source Canadian vendors to avoid any duty and border issues, working so far.
That was my method until I caved in and began to order from the USA, after a while I realized that only one in ten orders were being charged for taxes and duty, everything else was passing thru the border without extra fees. But with private carriers it's guarantied that they will charge me for taxes, duty and they add handling fees so the total is even more expensive than with regular post. In the end it's a lot like gambling but when a 800$ order pass thru without having to pay extra it's a lot like winning the lottery. If this law pass I can say goodbye to all this because Fedex, UPS and the others will bend me over, spread my ass checks and... you know the rest. Do you think if this law pass they won't increase their fees or worst just refuse to deliver vaping products? If Paypal can refuse to do business with the vaping industry I don't see why delivery companies can't do the same.

Thank you. This is truly asinine and I attribute it mainly to two facts: 1) our politicians are way better at 5 second sound bites than grasping actual details and distinctions and; 2) the term "vape" is almost meaningless anymore as it covers a huge range of very different devices delivering very different products for very different uses.

This is shameful.

This is not a reason to stop getting our voices heard. Even if the law pass we must continue to fight it. If nobody complain the government have no reason to reverse the law. The reason the ship is passing under our nose is because nobody talked about it. The best way to change something is to spread awareness of the cause. The more people to shout, the bigger the voice, until they cannot ignore us and change their mind on vaping

That's what I said in the puffitup thread, but as a generalization: If the silent majority doesn't stand up COLLECTIVELY (& NOW since it's all ready too late in the game & times running out) & let our collective voice be heard, we are going to lose our freedoms 1 by 1 through regulations crafted by politicians who believe themselves to be elitists & who are power hungry & greedy. Crafting a bill before a study is done is no different than Pelosi saying we have to pass the bill (Obamacare) to see what's in it. It's :mental:, & I don't like being taken for a fool. & if we tolerate it then shame on us & we deserve our loss of freedom(s). I, for one, get my free will & rights from God. If you take God out of the picture, as is the case with communism & to some degree socialism trying to negate religion, then, your rights only come from your fellow man. I will not be ruled by politicians. As Lincoln said, it's suppose to be a gov't. of the people, by the people & for the people, the latter of which being the most important - which never seems to be the outcome.:myday:

Edited to add: IIRC without googling, upon inception, the States each sent 2 unelected/appointed men to Congress to represent the States for 2 year terms during which time they only met once yearly. It was civic duty as opposed to career politics. Regrettably, the only way to get rid of them today is for them to die after 50 years in office.

Aren't we supposed to avoid that sort of talks? Not my cup of tea for sure... but I'm afraid I possibly didn't understood that sentence... I know that law is not a nice one for us but I think you extrapolate a bit too much here. I like you... most of the time. Don't hate me, please, that's only my 2cents...

What is the reason the politicians have to justify that law? I think they have one but didn't see it mentionned although I didn't read all this thread and links.?

Below is the response from my states rep.
Thank you for contacting me about e-cigarettes. I appreciate your thoughts on this issue. Your input is important to me.

Recently, e-cigarettes have come under increased scrutiny. Some believe that e-cigarettes offer a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes due to the reduction in carcinogens, while others believe that e-cigarettes are dangerous to health. On December 20, 2019, President Trump signed legislation into law that raised the minimum age to purchase tobacco products to 21 including traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes.

On April 18, 2019, Representative Frank Pallone (D-NJ) introduced H.R. 2339. The bill would ban the sale of flavored tobacco products and prohibits the sale of tobacco products online. On February 28, 2020, I voted against H.R. 2339. The bill passed in the House by a vote of 213-195 and now awaits consideration in the Senate.

I do not believe that banning flavored tobacco products, including traditional tobacco products, will stop vaping health issues. Most of the lung injuries and deaths associated with vaping have resulted from individuals using black-market vape products containing Vitamin-E Acetate and chemical compounds derived from marijuana. We should continue to evaluate health risks from vaping and I will consider any legislation that works to address the underlying causes of vaping health issues.

Thank you again for getting in touch. Hearing from you and other Montanans allows me to better understand your perspective. As your representative in Congress, I will continue to rely on your views to be a strong voice for Montana. I invite you to visit my website at gianforte.house.gov to sign up for my newsletter, learn more about current legislation, and see what I am working on for Montana. If I can help you or your family, please contact me.

Sincerely,

We should continue to evaluate health risks from vaping

Where in the world is this stance coming from that vaping must be proven 100% safe or it’s simply not allowed for consumption? Yet the alcohol and tobacco industries are allowed to be as harmful as they possibly can???
If we applied the same buzz logic they used to crucify vitamin E acetate for causing vaping deaths in less than 100 people, then how do we possibly justify keeping cigarettes legal when according to the CDC they kill 450,000 Americans per year - that’s 1300 deaths PER DAY. That’s MORE American deaths per day from cigarettes than the CORONA VIRUS. 41,000 American deaths per year due to secondhand smoke and the gov wants to paint an image of a “vaping crisis.”

I’d also like to hear rational discussion on how E-cig flavors are “targeting kids“ but Confetti Cake, S’mores, and Pink Lemonade vodka isn’t?

Thank you for the call to action. I would also encourage learning about the planned changes to Section 230. It's much easier to take action on changes when we have a forum for free discussion.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation calls it “the most important law protecting internet speech.”

The real point of this ban is to hurt and bankrupt the US Post Office, who refuse to listen to the presidents demand to charge Amazon more for shipping their merchandise. Amazons owner is Jeff Bezos, who also owns the Washington Post. They dont typically write what the president prefers. Also, he's jealous Jeff is a real billionaire. Follow the money. Fuck any one that signed onto this, demacrat or republican.

Still no word on the vape mail ban but....
PMTA regulations happen tomorrow, so, getting mods and such may become an issue.
Luckily I stocked up for Vape Apocalypse and should be OK.
I don't have enough 21700 mods though.

You can click here to find out more regarding the PMTA regulations.
