Nothing to discuss except fine points of preference...

Wow is this thread dead or what? Anyway, I'm seriously considering joining the VB2 club! Green2brown had nothing but praise for the VB2 on another thread on this forum. It Seems to be very easy to use, low maintenance ( a little ISO and a razor blade or steel wool on the ceramic tray) and big tasty dab like hits! My question is this:
If I purchase this thing, I want to pair it with the new mini Mobius Atom. It has a 14mm male push bowl slide. What do I need to hook it up? I'm thinking a vaporbrothers 14mm adapter which I think will connect the water piece directly to the whip? Is that right? Or, is there another way to connect w/o the whip. I'm just looking for the best way to connect the VB2 to a bubbler. I use my Vapes dry, so this water filtration, gongs and adapters is all new to me. Any ideas guys?

I use the VB2 dry ONLY!
It is great.
It gets very hot... and cleans itself.
Green2Brown was likely saying to use the Iso etc to clean the inner walls off.
I clean my inner walls about once a month.
The insert/disc/tray/chalice need never be cleaned!
I do my hits dry, because I feel less medicated to a degree when I use water filtration.
I can vape extra hits to accommodate, but I always feel like a certain "edge" or element of the effect is missing.
I see gobs of wax/oil on the inner walls of the water pipe or floating in the water and can not help but think... "that substance belongs in my body!"
I can not stand the smell of used water. RezBlock (or Cranberry extract) helps with the smell some, but why go through all that, when it tastes better to me without water, and the effect is more pronounced to me without water.

Thanks Vito, I got it now. ISO or 000 SS wool for the inner walls only. So after your dab how long does it take for the ceramic tray to clean itself and at what heat level? Do you have to turn the knob to high to get the self cleaning effect?
I agree, as a rule I prefer to use most of my Vapes dry. However, I'd like the versatility to consume a larger than usual dab with water filtration from time to time. That's why I've chosen the Möbius Atom mini bubbler as it is quite compact and uses very little water, so I assume wouldn't affect flavor too much. Good point about the potential to lose some medicinal effect and small amount of oil through water filtration...
Vito, I love your videos and your long informative posts.(especially in the VB2 and Herbalizer threads) You have a knack for presenting information in a detailed step by step way that is easy for a complete novice to a particular vaporizer to easily understand and follow. Thanks for all you do on this forum and with all the low income patients you help on a day to day basis. You are one cool dude!!!

It will self clean on medium, but will take longer. (and perhaps not be as bright white).

Can anybody compare the VB2 to the Sublimator?
Obviously the heat up time of the VB2 is a huge advantage. Safety factor goes to the VB2 as well.
Is there really that much of a taste difference?
By watching the videos there looks like there is little to no reclaim. Is there much oil left behind in the dome after heavy use?
Lately I use mostly concentrates and almost all through the Sublimator.

Hi there @Chill Dude
I own a VB 2 and I only use it with water as my medical condition gets irritated without hydration. I use the Vapor brothers 14 and 18 angled glass piece to connect to different types of hydrators.
I prefer the shorter whip with this set up. My recommendation is to call Vaporwarehouse when you make your order and explain to them your hydrator set up and they'll be sure to send what you need to start ceramic Dabbing with your New VB2!
I herd A lot of amazing things about the VB2s' performance during the San Francisco Cup this past weekend. Those units ran all day for 10 hours a day dabbing one after another without a rest. The VB2 is just so easy there are so many reasons why it outperforms a torch and a Nail.

Hi there
I take it from your post you already own a Sublimator you are looking into purchasing the VB2 to use for your concentrates is that correct ?
I currently own a VB2 and had the opportunity to try out the Sub. In my opinion both machines work extremely well and do a great job at meditating. For me choosing the VB 2 was the right choice.
My wife has MS the and in the last 2 weeks she has gone blind in one eye. We really needed something that's easy to operate as possible. The VB2 is easy.
I definitely prefer ceramic dabbing to metal the taste is fantastic. You are correct it is so easy to use. I don't get much reclaim as are used mostly wax. But he has one to use is mostly oil and he gets quite a bit in his elbow connector and dome.
Heats up way faster than the Sub and cools down faster too.
Really two different machines but if I had it my way I sure as heck would own both.

Thanks for the reply Captain. Yeah, you're probably right on calling Vaporwarehouse prior to ordering just to make sure I get all the accessories and adapters I need for both dry and with water filtration. At this point I'm pretty much sold on the VB2. It meets my main criteria:
1) ease of use
2) easy to maintain and clean
3) well respected manufacturer with great customer service
4) heats up reasonably quickly
5) medicates well and is efficient
6) taste great ( no burnt or smokey taste)
7) safe quality materials ( I trust VB in this area)
Just curious why do you use the angled glass joint vs the straight ones? Is it because the whip won't bend or crease with the bent ones? Also, I didn't know there were different lengths of whips to choose from. Why do you like the shorter whip and what's the difference in length between the two?
Green2brown says he always uses VB2 on medium because on high he sometimes tastes that burnt smokey flavor. I suppose it depends on the type of concentrate, but does everyone agree that medium is the optimum setting most of the time?
Should I order directly through Vaporbrothers or use Vaporwarehouse??

Nice I'm excited for you I agree your points with #s 1-7 completely. However mine is dirty a lot. Clean it Once a week.
I was sent 2 whip sizes one long and one short I prefer shorter piece for when I'm at my desk in longer piece for Web sitting down at the couch.
I have both a straight and angled glass piece to connect to my hydrator's. I prefer the angle piece for the exact reason you guessed crimping the whip.
I ended up ordering my unit through Vapor warehouse and could not have been happier with the service that I received.

I rarely use medium.
High is a faster dab.
Many materials have residues.
If you vape wax that has tiny amount of residue, that is the burnt taste.. at end of wax conversion.
On high you get the dab fast.. all at once, so you may recognize the final foreign essence (it depends on the wax).
On medium since it is a trifle slower, that black spot remains on the disc a tiny but longer...
this leaves you with a dirty disc, and a small amount of wispy vapor that occurs for a while after the dab.
If I dab on medium, I am simply leaving behind a tiny amount of last residue... but the wisps then settle inside my dome.
When I do this I remove the dome and let the residue off into the air, or I cover with another dome (ceramic).
Still... all in I prefer to dab on high.
I get it all in one shot, and do not notice the aftertaste that much in comparison to the dab flavor.
On medium, I get dab flavor, but then the burn aftertaste will still be there if you continue inhaling some.
This last taste is what remains on your tongue after the hit. It lingers on tongue longer than does the high temp hits mixed flavor. Of course one can learn easily where to stop inhaling.. when using more "home made " types of materials as opposed to lab created oils.
Very pure concentrates do not taste burned to me on high.
Once in a while I dab on medium.
I do this when I want to do smaller dabs. The small dabs on medium make a tiny dab last a second longer.
Larger dabs, I prefer hotter, so I can consume all and not run out of lung capacity.

Friends on vacation for a month so I get to borrow his VB2 
I love the thing but I think it might be running hot. Dabs taste a little burnt (even on medium) and leave this black residue:
I also hit it with my IR gun and got temperatures between 950-1000F on the the H setting. Medium was reading about 125-150F lower.

The image shows typical result of BHO that has residues.
Residues can be plant matter, or solvent... but mostly dust, dirt, and fine pulverized weed.
It is not running hot... 1000º was the goal... it sounds great.
Your friend has it set where he likes it (there is fine tuning that the Vapor Brothers will discuss with each owner. I won't recommend you adjust another man's tool)
The reason for burnt taste is that the residues burn last.. after the oils vaporize.
That last little taste is what stays on tour tongue as it was last essence to hit it.
You can stop inhaling a split second sooner to avoid the flavor of the dark stuff you have in image.
We have all seen that dark residue at some point, and even some very nicely done Waxes have some.
I see by the golden ring on the porcelain walls that the heat is good.... see how it runs from the element!
Left on high for one cycle, the black should vanish.
Anything that does not vanish will come off as a flake.
I am careful when fishing out the flakes, because they want to float away from you, and get stuck in that golden ring of oil.... and make things look ugly.
I wait till all is cool...
I lick the tip of a toothpick and gently touch the black flake, and slowly withdraw my hand from the surgery, and lift that flake out!

"Hot & fast" is our specialty with VB2. The thing is, when we try lower settings the hits get burnier and smokier. We believe that temps over approx 700F create the leidenfrost effect where the oil droplets are held up by their own evaporating and never get a chance to settle into the plate. With the fast hit of the VB2, your terpenes and everything else vaporize in one instant. With lower temperature nails & enails, the terpines come off early giving a faux good tasting hit, but then leave the rest of the stuff bubbling and belching smoke... Too long, too slow for my liking.
All that said, we notice that some delicate waxes like the lower temperatures. If you'd like to try lowering the VB2, it's settings are hackable. We'd like to step you through on the phone to do this right using your IR thermometer @Bouldorado I'm traveling right now for trade show, but if you message me I'll get you in touch with our engineer back home.

Appreciate the offer but the VB2 is my buddy's, so I don't really want to make any major changes to it. However if it's as simple as turning a screw I'd be down to tinker around with the temp settings.

Hi there VB2 nuts and wellness seekers. I wanted to post a little follow up on the Secret Cup RI and the VB2 east coast debut.
As soon as I can post some photos I will. A big thanks to the guys at Dabilitated for letting us post up and dab out tons of people at their both.
As soon as we pulled out the VB2 and plugged it in there was a line to ask questions about it. Once hot an eager non-stop line of patients waited eagerly to Dab, take photos and than Dab again.
The unit vaporized every concentrate put into it whether it was organic ice wax super terpy budder to shatter. Everyone who tried it remarked about it's a clean hit and easy to use. At first I thought it funny explaining how to use it because it's just so easy people were like oh "that's it"
After being out and jamming in the general grounds for about an hour and a half we let her cool down and then brought the VB2 into the VIP area. It was there were many industry legends had the opportunity to session with it all of which had nothing but fantastic accolades. Many well known concentrate makers on the East Coast gave it an A+
Several times we were asked where they could be purchased and of course we directed them to vaporware house and vapor brothers.

Wish I had come!
$750 is a big admission price to get something I don't find very attractive compared to my beautiful custom glass nail rigs. While a torch is not the most elegant or quiet means of heat it is very effective and IMO opinion easy to control to achieve the desired temp to dab. The torch does touch on some sour memories of years long ago and it is noisy but I like fire and since giving up combustion completely that flame is my cave man connection I still crave.
Does the VB2 dabs compare equally with a quality nail/glass/torch rig in experienced hands?

... and local patients that are glass aficionados, and who
carefully have decided between quartz and titanium, ALL find reason to come over, even to get one single dab from my VB2.
Only to get the ideal results one does not need experienced hands!
...after using VB2, a high quality glass/nail/torch seems like a GREAT DEAL of effort!
