I used the back end of the skewer and just kept ramming it in there with the tissue at the other end to keep from losing it. I would always get a nice ball of stuff out of it that worked great either vaped or smoked.

Also, can the hydrator be used alone?

Thanks!!! The questions were well answered by others so far. My thoughts on your second question: It's not intended for use with those substances and doesn't really work. People have broken the stuff up and mixed it in the bowl with leaf and got a thick hit. It immediately clogs the screen though. Solids really need conduction rather than convection.

Actually, while KidFated's answer is classic awesomeness the hydrator IS quite a nice little smoke device haha... BUT, expect it NOT to be a good vapor device ever again. Regardless of repeated heavy cleaning, a waterpipe that has once experienced smoke will always taste burnt when used in vaporizers, imo. We strongly recommend using glass that has never seen smoke with your vaporizer.

When ordering the EZ Change Whip from Vapor Warehouse, I have personally purchased both the "Complete - Set" & a "back-up EZ" after having so much success with the first. Buying my back-up, I didn't need the "whip" nor mouthpiece, as I was using my VB strictly with GonG Adapters (+Water-Pipe).

I remember now, that they don't offer a 'complete item' (like you said) & instead you must order the pieces individually. This kinda makes sense for them, since the 'full-set' is basically what you need anyways. One has to order a few separate pieces from the VaporWarehouse store if acquiring an EZ Change Whip without the hose/mouthpiece aka "Complete-Set" (order: bowl. silicone mid-section. glass 'back end'. screens). All Glass pieces are available in Ceramic these days, & one can choose whichever they prefer (BTW - well done Vapor Brothers ). You can order either the Ground Glass (HF) bowl, or the Standard, as well as your choice between ceramic screens or SS (or combination of both which is best IMO) which will reside in the silicone mid-section.
I would def. purchase the set, if it is cheaper than purchasing the pieces separately. I ordered my 2nd, far before the ceramic versions were announced, & am not sure what I paid .. nor why I did it 'that way'.

I was wanting to buy a "complete" ez change handpiece because typically when you do it that way instead of ordering all the individual pieces its cheaper(I'm talking in general when buying stuff, not specifically VB or vaporwarehouse).

I think both choices(complete and individual pieces) should be an option.

Yep, i tend to ignore it unless it gets in the way of air flow, then I scrap with a kabob stick.

Just picked up one of the hands free models with the EZ whip for an unreal price on ebay. I really like this vape and the mouthpiece just so happens to make an airtight seal on the inside downstem on my little 18mm water piece. This thing can put out serious clouds of dense, potent vapor. The angle of the heating element isn't too much of a problem if you tamp the load down a bit, but the included bamboo stick doesn't really work well for this. If the glass part isn't hot, I can use my pinky to pack it slightly, but the glass gets hot pretty quick once you've taken a rip. I've been using a bic pen to tamp it after stirring, and you do have to stir up loads if you like hitting it at 12 o'clock or higher. You can see a spot that browns quicker and stirring evens out the color. The vapor quality on these is as good as a vape gets, but having to stir the load gets annoying. Can't imagine a better vape for the price I paid.

Nope, don't have one. What kind of steel is it made from, and how rounded is the tip? If it can double as an oil tool I'd definitely snag one.

If you wanted to connect proper to your glassware you can use an 18mm connector like this one or the angled one.

The pick is ordinary stainless at the sharp end. The sharpness is softened by a grinder & sander. (these come from hardware stores but rarely have the wide end) The wide end works awesome for tamping down herbs. It's the only thing I use.

I dab with it too- the thinness helps the oil drop off. Enjoy!

Stirring is a task that goes along with every vaporizer (even the ones that claim "no stirring").
Even a toothpick works!
I use a wine cork with a stir tool needle

Run it under hot water, should loosen a bit, then put decently hard.

Does anyone own a standard model AND the mini hydrator? If so, how much of a hassle is it to use both at the same time? Is it more of a convenience issue and not one of performance?
I've been lurking through these parts and have decided to purchase the standard model when I have available funds.

So I literally joined this forum after lurking for 5+ years to come and share my love for this freakin' vape.

I started browsing the FC forums a long time ago to research the vape I wanted to buy, and I at first ended up with an iolite. Wasn't too big of a fan of the iolite, so I grabbed the Myrtlezap. Loved the myrtle zap until I used the damn thing into oblivion, so I moved on to the Vaporbrothers and - holy shit. New tier of vaping.

Ever since then, I've been pretty much only using the VB for all my sessions. I grabbed the steamroller attachment and have been in heaven. I used my original VB every day (left plugged in 24/7 a lot of the time…) for 2 years until my lady accidentally knocked it off the counter and the ceramic heating element stopped heating. I was devastated, but I sent that sucker in for a $10 warranty repair and got it back in 3 days. I was so stoked to have it back I ordered the $100 mini hydrator and was BLOWN AWAY by how nice my sessions were. Seriously, get that hydrator if you own a VB. Unfortunately, the heating element went out AGAIN after only 1 month of getting it repaired so I sent VB an email asking them 'wat do?!'; it took them a few days to get back to me so during my impatience I went to my local headshop and… yes… actually bought another brand new VB.

The new VB feels a bit different (newer materials) and works like a champ and I couldn't be happier, but the best news is I just got an e-mail response back from VB and they're offering to repair my original unit again free of charge. This means I can pretty much leave 1 vape in the car and another in the house at all times. I couldn't be happier

tl;dr: this vaporizer kicks ass. It turned me into a person with a curious interest in vaporizing to a dedicated, die-hard customer. VB all the way.

PS - even hit a volcano once at a friends house and couldn't believe how thin/unsatisfying the vapor was compared to the VB. Maybe I just prefer thick vapor, but the volcano felt disappointing after using the VB for years

Its my favorite also, tried a lot of vapes, a tiny bit concerned because a side of mine feels a tad loose but it still hits like day 1, its a lifetime vape thanks to the great customer service.

Thanks so much @jiveturkey I agree thicker vapor is satisfying. It was essential to us to show smokers that vapor is not the weaker alternative. If vapor is thin and light, (sometimes called "true vapor") people say they like the taste and the uplifting head space, but then they abandon the whole project in favor of a bowl or joint followup. VB didn't become a company until one of its founders found himself in the fetal position after taking too big of a hit.

About what I'm calling "true vapor..." it's what I think really high end temp controlled vapes excel at. With our vape it takes a bit of practice on the lower settings. A true vapor hit to me means a super clear inhale with no smoke particles. The exhale looks like mist but it disappears (absorbs into the air) immediately.

But if you're needing to feel actually satisfied (i.e. you don't need to smoke afterwards) then you need to turn it up and ride the fine line between vaporizing and smoking. Perhaps 2-3 o'clock position on the dial. IMO, at temperatures that brown (not quite blacken) the herb that's where the most components of the herb get released, and that's also where the most decarb'ing happens. Herb is not just one or two components- as I understand, it's hundreds of psychoactive compounds coming out at different temperatures.

Want to add that it's really important to us that the vapor is inhaled as soon as it's produced. If vapor is contained somewhere and inhaled a moment (or minutes) later, staleness is a problem. Although, "true vapor" doesn't get stale right away- that's OK. I'm just saying then... at higher temperatures, the vapor shouldn't be contained and stored for any length of time.

I lost the mouthpiece for mine, so....I got this off a stand for 5 bucks at cannabiscup as a quick fix haha....fits whip perfect, VB still going strong.

Its really nice in the hands, wish I knew the name of it.
