Discontinued Vapolution 2.0

@darius : try to find the forum section called "Success Stories", where FC members tell how they managed to quit combusting. I think it's safe to say that the majority of us here came from a strong smoking background and we all managed to quit after a variable amount of time.

I'm not saying it will be easy, at first you will have the impression that you are missing part of the high compared to combustion, but you will soon realize that this sensation was not coming from the plant itself but instead from the many nasty by-products of combustion: carbon monoxide, tars of all kinds, a shitload of carcinogenic free-radicals and the list goes on... (and I'm not even mentionning tobacco which is often used in conjunction)

This nasty "cocktail" puts your immune system on red alert, and this has the side effect of making you more tired, which people mistakenly associate to the C. high (or rather "stone" in this case)

You will have to "rewire" your brain such that it associates the vapor high to a positive feedback/reward. Taking a t-break like @KidFated. suggested can be a solution. But you can also keep combusting for a short while until you get used to vaporization, then after a month you will realize that you get much less pleasure out of combustion (it will taste so gross you will find it more and more disgusting, then you will also realize that it makes you more tired but with a less intense high compared to vaping)

At some point you will realize that smoking is pointless and only has disadvantages and you should be able to quit for good.

My last two cents: try to use your vap2 at higher temperatures in order to get the full spectrum (lower temps = more flavors but also heady high, high temps = more couchlock, closer to smoking) then later you'll be able to enjoy the low temps without craving for the stone effect.

Are you saying that vaping provides better highs over time, or that you just get used to the not-so-stellar highs it provides and stop craving the 'stoned' feeling you get from smoking? Kind of like someone who gives up soda in favor of water. As in, water is never going to taste as good as a soda, but you eventually get used to it and stop craving soda. (Or at least I did.)

If you miss the carbon monoxide and benzene that you get with smoke, which produces the 'always the same couchlock drowsy high', then I guess vapor does produce a less stellar high.

If you keep going back to smoke you're likely to never get a real appreciation for vapor. I always recommend at least a whole week of nothing but vapor to start. It's also possible, if you have a high tolerance, that the less than huge hits from the narrow Vapo bowl aren't quite doing it for you. OTOH using a model like the Vapo is a good way to adjust your tolerance.

Ya, I think that's probably it. After one vape session, I get what I would call a 'pleasant buzz', which is the same effect I would get after about a quarter of a joint. If I make a few more trips back to the vaporizer, I can get about halfway to where I could with a joint.

But the 'stoned' feeling I am referring to isn't specifically a couch lock, although that usually comes along with that kind of high, and has for me always been a negative side-effect (unless I just want to sleep right after). I can get the same kind of 'stoned' feeling with cannabis edibles, so I know it's possible to achieve without smoking, although I usually get the same couch lock with the edibles, if they're really strong. There's a guy on Silk Road who sells THC capsules, which will knock you on your ass. (Too expensive for me though.)

BTW: I'm definitely going to give this vaping thing an honest try, but I'll probably wait until I run out of my current batch and take a little t-break before stopping smoking entirely for awhile. Ain't no way I'm taking a t-break with weed in the closet :) lol

I was never completely satisfied with a restricted hit vape like the Vapo. I used a full sized whip model like the SSV when I wanted a big dose of vapor all at once, and currently it's the VapeXhale EVO. There are days when I'm fine with smaller hits and other times when I'll start small and finish the evening with a big hitter. Sometimes I go straight for the big hits. Lots of people use a big/small combo as a complimentary vaping system. You might consider adding a big hitter. When I get a visit from a smoker I've always broken out the bigger hitting vape to make sure they get a lung busting supply of vapor. It can make a considerable difference, believe me.

Space is the Place
Just Switching to a whip with the Vapor-barrel gives me much bigger hits then i can pull with the wonder bowl or straight shooter. Changing up bowls really does change the vaping experience with the vapo2 for me.

So i sit back and do a session or two with Whip/VB and use the direct draw bowls to maintain throughout the rest of the night.

@darius -- turn the heat up. What do you have it set on? I set up a combuster with this vape a while ago and got him started on about noon (where I like it) and it didn't do it for him. I set my sister up with it but had her start at two and she digs it. Higher temps are going to be more like smoking than lower temps.

After reading some of the responses here, I think I'm getting a better idea of what's going on. When I originally mentioned not getting the same 'stoned' feeling from the vape, I think you guys mistook that I meant the body high, which I actually don't want most of the time. What I was actually referring to is the strong head high that came with it. While vaping, I'm getting mild-to-moderate head highs.

It seems that I can resolve this by either lowering my tolerance, increasing the temp, and/or taking bigger hits off the vape. Right now, I've got the dial set at about 1. Which one of the VP2 attachments is generally agreed upon to provide the biggest draws? Eventually, I may upgrade to a more heavy-hitting vape if necessary... perhaps when the Super Surfer comes out :)

does yah!

I'm sure you guys have been in this position... you're taking your second or third trip back to the vape, and you're already high. So after you set a timer (what I do anyway), you come back 5 minutes later, only to notice that you forgot to turn the damn vape on :p

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...

I always use the Vap2 at 2:00 or higher. It gives you the high temp high with all the taste you lose with other vapes.

Dammit, the Vap3 better get here soon. :)

Okay guys, after a couple weeks of using the VP2, here's my thoughts:

When it comes to getting high, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being only a very slight buzz and 10 playing backgammon naked, the most I can manage with this vape so far is like a high 5 or a low 6. However, I have to go on a t-break for several weeks before I can get up to an 8 or higher while smoking, so that isn't as bad as it sounds :) And it's not like I really need to get totally blazed every time anyway. I am also sort of artificially limited as to how many hits I can take before my throat begs for mercy, so I could probably get more mileage if I had a bong/water pipe to pair it with.

Even with all of the tips provided here, I find that smoking is just a different level of high than vaping with the VP2, either with or without the couch lock feeling. I'm not sure that'll change even after a long t-break and a sabbatical from smoking, but I'm going to give it a try after my current stash runs out - like wait awhile before getting more weed, and then using the vape exclusively for a time.

However, even if I don't give up smoking entirely, I'd consider vaping to be a nice 'mid-week' substitute, like when you want to get high, but still would like to be able to function. In other words, this vape will continue to be used until/unless I replace it with a better one :)

This is your view point for sure.
However I have a different view point than you!
Smoking is gross and i can't do it anyway.
The VAP 2 is less than $120 including shipping.
The taste is better than devices costing $100 's more.
For me it's a no non sense device.
For me it's a 8 on a 1 to 10 scale.
My need is medical.
If it wasn't it wouldn't matter.

Curious if anyone has used Vapolution 2.0 with DMT. Seems the concentrate setup would work well and be a safer way to use. I called the Vapolution guys but they have not heard of anyone using with DMT so far. Thanks in advance!

I'm answering this because I just tried this tonight. Put the spice in, and then put a little bit of vaped herb on bottom, so it wouldn't fall out. I should've put some herb up top before putting in the spice, because I ended up inhaling some of it. Oh well, lesson learned :)

It actually seemed to work pretty well! In fact, it's just about perfect... since you can kick back on the couch with the tube in hand while you blast off to hyperspace. It didn't even burn when inhaling.

However, right before I was about to launch, I thought at the very last second that I really wasn't certain whether it was safe to leave the glass in for that long. Can anyone advise? The trip usually lasts about 20 minutes. Also, if anybody knows any optimal setting to put the dial on ...

As I watched the room start to shift and morph, I took one more hit and pulled the glass out, thinking that would be enough. But it wasn't quite enough, so I didn't break through this first time :( I think I got about 90% there, because the lamp I was staring at was doing some crazy shit and the surrounding furniture I no longer recognized. I am almost certain I'll do it next time though!

BTW: DMT has kind of a foul taste to it, so I wouldn't recommend using the same tube you use to vape weed with. (Perhaps order an extra.

Even after owning the VP2 for several weeks, I don't understand the obsession with the flavor. It tastes like dirt and grass to me. Unless you guys have some vanilla-flavored weed I don't know about :)

but then you're converting from a convection operation to conduction as soon as you remove the glass tube from the oven ... and the glass can't hold enough thermal energy to get a hit.

The vap2 is mostly conduction though isn't it?

The vaponic gives me 3-4 hits after being heated to temp. It uses a conduction/convection heating method though, not sure if the vapolution guys would be able to create something similar or not.

It really does. The only other vape I've personally tried that compares was the gnome. UD is great as well.
