Discontinued Vapolution 2.0

PALE BLUE DOT
Broke it out for the first nightcap in about a week because I got some new strains in (one blueberry) and had to do the taste test. If I had to trim my collection down to three units, this would be one of them. I got hammered off of two pellets.
OK sticksstones:

VAP 2.0 time today.

I have the crazy OG strain (PURE).

Need to test it in this device.

I'm keeping my quiver reasonable as I focus more on: "GOD'S Creation", rather than man's devices!

My back issues were really acting up this weekend, which actually gave me the perfect excuse to up my vaporbong game. I had planned to get my vaporbong system up to par earlier in the week when I ordered a 14mm connector for my tubing. The only hitch was getting my Mobius Nano Matrix pristine. Though I had "ghetto rigged" it perviously to the VAP2 for testing purposes, I was finally getting serious.

The 14mm connector arrived from Amazon, but the Mobius was nearly pristine EXCEPT for an immature seed stuck in the matrix. This really, really sucked, but I was able to solve the issue and the piece is now as good as new. After soaking it overnight in distilled water, the piece was literally better than when I bought it.

Saturday, I woke up and could not even get out of bed, my left flank down my butt down my leg was all stiff and shit. I had done some pretty heavy lifting a couple days earlier and felt great the day before, but damn if I didn't get hit hard. So I figured it was time to rig up the Vaporbong and get some relief. After "unthawing" a bit and grunting and groaning, I managed to drag my sorry ass up and to the coffee. Used some of that hot water to soften the tubing which came with my VAP2 FuckCombustion special package. I also attached the large straight bowl to the tubing, pushing it in so that the retaining washer, snugged up, was at the perfect 2.75". Next, I decided to cut the tubing in half as the length on my workbench ended up working perfectly for my rig. Finally, the 14mm connect was attached and I was ready to rock!

I currently have 4 strains. Jack Herer, Purple Urkle, Larry OG and V.S.O.G. (those who know, KNOW!)

I decided to go with the Larry because it's REALLY tasty and because I knew if I went with either the Urkle or the VSOG, I'd be down for the count. Packed the bowl with some medium tight nugs. In the meantime, I had the VAP2 preheating, as always, up to high for about 10 minutes, then down to my preferred temp for another 10. I dialed it in at about 11-11:30ish. High for me, as I normally sip from the AIWB at about 10ish. But I wanted a powerful hit and with all the goodness.

Let it heat up for about 2 minutes, and BAM! Beautiful, thick blueish vapor, tasty, cool and moist, and VERY medicating! I waited about another minute after exhaling before taking another hit. I don't even recall how many hits I got (4-5, I'd guess) but it was excellent and I'm well satisfied.

For taste, there is no doubt that using the AIWB is the very best. But for the heavy hit experience, the vaporbong is hard to beat. I experimented with many different temps, times, loads packs, strains, etc. and still found myself enjoying an AIWB session after a vaporbong session.

I can see myself eventually owning a "heavy hitter" such as the Cloud, but for now as I learn my technique, I'm getting some wicked big hits off of my Mobius from my VAP2! :D

The Cloud hits will knock your socks off, but unless you buy a used one (or blow the dust off one sitting in a headshop), you'll be getting an EVO, and playing the waiting game isn't a bad idea there. At the same time, a small capacity bowl like the Vapo really complements a big hitter and helps keep the tolerance level down.

As it turns out, I've ordered an LSV for now. I have a feeling a Cloud and/or Herbalizer might be in my future. Just not right now.

I'm actually quite satisfied with my VAP2, OTHER than vaporbonging, which while it does so, it's not optimized for it as the LSV is. I have a nice Mobius Matrix Nano and I just hate to waste it. I've been enjoying my VAP2 through it (as well as my MFLB, which has its own nice capabilities!)

In any case, they are all good and all fun. The only part I don't like is the pocketbook effect ;) Oh well, such is life, eh?

The LSV will do a fine job as a big hitter. What it'll lack, vs. the Cloud and upcoming EVO, is the ability to hit it as hard as you like, since a big hard draw can lower your vaping temp. Get your hit speed coordinated, with a given temp setting, and it'll do fine.

I'd wait on the EVO, to determine reliability, and personally, I'd never pay the price for a Herbalizer- way too much $ for me. The Vapo is a perfect example that you don't have to pay a lot to get a good performer. Spending a lot more gives you ease of use and/or more features, but a $100 vape can provide the same vapor as the one that costs ten times as much.

I think spending a lot more gets you more...to a point.

I DO like the idea of being able to draw as hard or soft as I want and let the computer feedback circuitry vary the temperature. I KNOW I'll want a vape that does this someday.

However, I really feel like we're at the point in vape tech where cars were when the cranks started coming off and electric starters started showing up. I mean, we are really in the infancy of vaporization.

I also think that the price point on some of these vapes is fucking outrageous, to put a fine point on it. The MiniVAP is a case in point, but I will allow the reader the exercise of his own outrage as I'm sure we can all point to overpriced stuff out there.

As for the Herbalizer, I like the technology, but I'm an "as much glass as possible" guy. I really hope I'm one of the ones able to go to the Herbalizer test on 9/7 as I plan on putting it up against my VAP2 for taste and my LSV for the old punch in the face.

The only thing I'd add to what you said, Max, is I personally have a hard time spending over $500 on a Cannabis device that DOES NOT come with really, really nice glass.

I don't think I'll ever spend $500 on a single vape period. I've gotten in on presales with VapeXhale twice and will have a Cloud (and HT) and EVO for $600. What people are willing to pay for a particular product will vary with the person, but I've bought so many models over the years that I'm about to the point where enough is enough, and sure don't want to think about my total expenditure. I do hate to see people coming to the incorrect conclusion that they have to spend a ton of $ to get a good, effective vape.

The MiniVAP is a case in point
That model would probably also be my nomination for most overpriced, and the cost has dropped quite a bit since it was introduced at $1000, if I remember correctly.

A big testament for the Vapo is that it's still a great choice (and a big bargain) many years after its introduction, while a lot of models from the middle of the last decade aren't faring so well, or have been discontinued altogether.

I just ordered my Vapolution 2.0 with All-in-Wonder Bowl and Straight Shooter!

Indeed, a most excellent choice.

I have both an AIWB and an SS. Like them both. If you ordered them without special instructions otherwise, the AIWB will be carb'ed and the SS will not be. Nice variety. They both taste amazingly excellent.

Enjoy!

That was actually my thinking behind ordering both, I figured, why not try both carb options:brow:? I'm really excited to get this and try it out, especially after hearing all of the great reviews! I have some really great Northern Lights and Blue Dream that I bet will compliment the Vapolution very well. Plus this will be my first non-grind vape!

I received my Vapolution Saturday and have been doing thorough testing :freak: in between work shifts, this thing is really awesome!! Thanks to everyone and their tips and experiences on this thread, there wasn't much of a learning curve, and now I'm consistently getting the best tasting vapor I have ever puffed on.. I'm blown away at how effective it is also!! The AiWB and the Straight Shooter are both fantastic, just enough variety!

Thank you Vapolution for the amazing Glass on Glass vaporizer, fantastic service, killer price, and coupon code for us here at FuckCombustion, keep up the good work!!!

Has anyone else experienced a crackle noise from inside the unit? I had it happen to me tonight, I had it at my vaping temp of about 11-11:30 on the dial, it had been at temperature for more than an hour and I was on stem #3 or 4. It made an electrical "crackle" sound briefly, it put the unit near my ear to listen and it was definitely coming from inside, but the sound stopped immediately after. I have run 3 cycles since with no noise, I'm curious what that noise was and if anyone else here has experienced it? I don't think it was serious judging by how little it affected my vape sessions during and after the incident, but I'd still love to hear some opinions..

My guess is some of the "insulator" material bumped the nichrome wire and got sizzled? But I could be way off:shrug:
