Alright... Here's some more Vapman Porn!
Story:
I Two-tone charred another Basic and sent it to Nick to Engrave. Same design as before because I really like the Celtic Knot on the bottom ring and the Buddhist Eternal knot too.
I could not come up with anything I liked better so I also sent him my good old all charred "stealth black" Vapman to engrave and see how it came out.
Results:
Although the engraving was flawlessly sharp and the ring engracing dead-center (Nick is da man!) - I wasn't digging the black on black effect, as OF wisely predicted...
But I used this gold engraving paint to fill in the engraving, which I had bought ahead of time because I had the feeling that I would need it.
The Endless Knot came out pretty good, but the bottom knot didn't come out too hot because the lines are very thin and the paint didn't seem to want to stay in there when I rubbed off the excess.
Also, it was a Pain the freaking ass to rub off the excess while leaving the paint only inside the Engraved lines.
There are some little glitter guys here and there that I think will never, ever come off and I like the simple, elegant purity of the black engraving on light toned wood much better that this golden craziness...
Conclusion:
I am NOT doing this again and if my DeLorian wasn't in the shop, I'd go back in time and just not engrave the all charred Vapman at all.
Here's the results. Tell me you all think.
