I need your advice again,

As i never owned a Jet/Torch Lighter, I was feeling stuck last day when ordering a bottle of Butane to go with my incoming Jet lighter (thx OF) + VAPEMAN, OH YEAH, I DID IT!
One 300ml is enough for how many refill ? And you can use your lighter for how long ?
Actually the safe choice for me is two bottle but should I buy directly 3,5,10 etc. and then save money ?
Notice that I vape almost every day and can do multiple sessions. The perfect fit you'll be gaz for 1 to 3 month.

IIRC I decided a fill was about 7 grams, meaning you'll get something like 30 or 40 fills per can (accounting for some loss). Even at one a week (which I doubt you can do, really) that's half a year or so? And, since you'll get some ragged, partial fills at the end you should have plenty of warning to buy a new can.

I have no idea the quality of that gas, but suspect it'll do just fine. The quality needs for such lighters is pretty low compared to other uses. Why not get a can and try?

FWIW, a second, filled lighter, is probably the best insurance against getting caught out?

it may sound strange, but the vapman tought me, how to improve my skills with the vaponic. coming from the mflb i always tried to avoid the hissing sound while using the vaponic. i had the same approach when i started to learn the ways of the vapman. after figuring out, that this was not the correct way to go, me and the vapman became close friends. :) yesterday i had a mixed session involving the vaponic and the vapman. very much to my delight. :)

Sorry for the delay, I missed your question.
A medium flame (visible light blue flame) of around 15mm length is ideal, it also works well with a smaller flame but it takes longer to heat. Flames over 20mm are only for the experienced users as it can get burned real fast. The size of the flame is very crucial for the heat up time but has no impact on the lifespan of vapman as long the contents don`t get over heated.

Well I asked earlier in the month is anyone have painted or tried to customize the vap egg and didn't get any feed back so I decided to do some testing myself. Before i ruined my egg I wanted to just try something small and see how it holds up. I went with the always trustworthy sharpie and just tossed a wu tang clan logo on top my yellow egg.

I did this on 12/11/14 so its be over 2 weeks and hasn't faded much so i wanted to share this with the vapman fam in case any real artist out there wanted to hook their eggs up.


Btw @Mojo that engraving on ur vapman is unreal, I think in the future probably soon than later i see an exotic wood vapman with a tree of life engraved into it. I think some really cool sacred geometry would take the spiritual level of this vape right to the high heavens haha. thanks for sharing and making my wallet thinner someday soon haha.

The pollens and black hashes I've vaped up until now have tended to become dry/powdery once fully extracted @Mr Mellish - so they have left a residue, but haven't made a mess of the screens.

I believe some members' experiences with US style hashes have been a little different though. I recall someone saying theirs turned to a wax-like state and then vaped fully - leaving no residue. So I guess it depends on hash origin and type.

EDIT: I did vape a hash a while back, before the concentrates screens were available, and it turned really sticky and made a heck of a mess of my bowl. I didn't vape directly in the bowl again after that. If the same happened again with the screens - at least they're easy to take out and clean.

It depends on what you put in it.....doesn't it always? Mechanically processed (sometimes called 'pressed') hashes have a lot of plant material involved that's not going to evaporate. Expect residue.

OTOH solvent refined concentrates can be pretty pure since the solids were all filtered out, a bit like brewing coffee. If there's not too much waxes and 'heavy stuff' the concentrate can basically all evaporate off and leave the unit clean inside.

A good test to run is 'the foil test'. Take a small piece of aluminum foil and put a small amount of the concentrate on it. Then heat from below with your lighter until it melts. Ideally it should melt cleanly (all at once, not slowly like say butter would), flow freely over the foil, then basically all flash away in a puff as the temperature rises still more. Leaving at most a dark spot on the foil. Such concentrates will go many grams before fouling things enough to merit cleaning.

You'd be surprised how well some people have the mechanical extraction process down, to the point where their end-product is 99%+ trichome heads. You still deal with the plant waxes encasing the cannabinoids inside of the trichome heads, but the stuff is so pure people can and do dab it with nails. This stuff turns into puddles on a nail and vaporizes surprisingly cleanly. At 3:10 in this video you get a great shot of what I'm talking about.


The foil test is always good but I think it is more suited towards gear that needs clean oil, like oil carts and such. The concentrate screen is removable and torchable so it won't pose as much of a problem.

Well, IME both the darker very sticky and pliable hashes I've been vaping lately, and the hard (softens quick when hand warmed) and light Kashmir hash I'm vaping as I'm typing (apologies for typos, I'm vaaaaaped) turn into a dark dust that needs to be brushed of the screen. This happens when it's fully done, and usually the taste has rather degraded a bit before that. If you scrape it of the screen before that, it's still sticky, and I usually throw it in the abv jar.

You should really check out the cheap, high quality bubbler thread ( http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/cheap-high-quality-bubbler.5255/page-540 ). Lots of good pieces to choose from, just start from 20 pages back and before long you too will be infected with G.A.S. (Glass Acquisition Syndrome).
